Hey I’ve never used loopy pro but this popped up on my feed and it looks super interesting. I’m almost exclusively been working in Koala but this looks dope ❤
Thank you :) Check out my previous tutorial, I talk about metronome: th-cam.com/video/CXl6jfmmZRs/w-d-xo.html Basically you need an audio interface with at least 4 outputs, and then you can route the metronome to your headphones (for example 3+4) while the audience only hears the music (1+2). Depending on your audio interface you might need to go into the device settings to make sure you're getting output channels 1,2,3,4 in your headphones.
@@inbar.heyman Thank you for the answer. You make a really great job! I have focusrit scarlet 18i6 and tried 3+4 channels in metronome settings but it doesn’t work. Maybe I need to change something in audio interface.
Something else. It seems that compared to other older songs ("There is" for example), you changed your way of equalizing and placing the effects (reverb, chorus, de esser etc.). Can you tell us more in a future video perhaps? thanks again
That's a very interesting topic... I feel that I'm not professional enough yet to go in details about these aspects, because I'm still learning and experimenting. But I'll think about it!
I already gave the coupon away, but hopefully there'll be more opportunities in the future! I've only used the amps a tiny bit so it's not enough to really give a concrete answer. I also don't have any experience using real live amps so I can't compare to that... I love putting Turnado on my ukulele, master chain, drums, voice... There are sooooo many different effects and parameters.
Thanks! In this particular song I mapped a button to stop all of the music loops and I played the chorus chords live on the piano. I have other songs where I have buttons that stop certain clips and play others, that way I can transition between different parts of the song. I hope that answers your question? 🙏
Thank you for wanting to support me, that means a lot. I don't have an affiliate link with them, but I still highly encourage you to buy it, it's tooo much fun
I'm surprised to hear it's that expensive... Wait until they make a discount, which they do a few times of the year. I definitely bought it for much less, so it's worth waiting for the right time
Hi, can anyone tell me if loopy pro has prebuilt beats etc, like the ones you can get when you long press a loop on loopy hd, surely I’d thought there would be and more, but I can’t find them? (Thanks in advance)
Loopy Pro doesn’t come with any built in sounds or loops. There are some very cheap iOS apps that you can make beats with inside of Loopy Pro, and I use free drum samples that I import in to Loopy Pro and play as “one shots”.
How do prevent bleed from speaker playback into next loop recording via mic. Are headphones obligatory . Does this mean that the audience has to wait while building tracks . Not clear how you can use it live versus in the studio either headphones
I personally feel that headphones are absolutely obligatory. When I perform live I make sure I'm as far away from the audience's speakers as possible (sometimes I'm still very close to them 😅) and I never have a speaker monitor, only headphones. There are several things that can help prevent bleed from the speaker into the microphone: - Whenever possible use electronic instruments (for example I bought an electric ukulele and it's so much better for looping than an accoustic one). - Buy a quality dynamic microphone that will minimize the bleed (I got the AKG D5 after a recommendation and I am passing on that recommendation, it's been super great). - Whenever possible I set follow actions so that when I begin recording all the other loops stop, and when I finish recording all the other loops play again. That way each loop is clean. It doesn't always work either for technical or artistic reasons, but it's highly recommended whenever possible). You can't prevent bleed 100% and that's ok, it's a live show and not a studio session :) But I hope all this information is helpful 🙏
@@inbar.heyman Hello Inbar, Thank you very much for your lengthy, informative and considered reply. I have asked this question of many people (you are the only one to grasp it and answer it) and was about to give up hope of performing live with Loopy Pro until I came across your channel. I am impressed by three things -- 1. you stand out as an unsual and highly creative performer - musically, kinetically and visually. 2. your videos went into a level of detail and actual demonstration (eg loop sync options) that allowed me to see how I could set things up. 3. Astonishingly , you took the time to reply in detail with very helpful information. That is very unusual, very informative and very welcome . I am grateful to you . ps I am considering the portability of the U44 you recommended ( is the zoom h6 over the top? ) and the purchase of an AKGD5 (is this better than the AKG P5 -? ) -- othewise I was going to buy the sure sm57 or similar - Thanks George
Hi George thank you so much 🙏 I’m not sure what the specs are for the zoom h6, but there’s no such thing as over the top 🙃 I use the u44 and it’s great but I’m sure there are a lot of other great interfaces. As for microphone, my experience with the D5 is amazing. The p5 is a much cheaper version so it depends what your budget is. Many people are happy with Shure as well 🤷♀️ It’s hard to choose but in the end you’ll find the equipment that works best for you 🙏
Hi! Have you ever experienced loopy pro shutting down out of the blue, as in a glitch, while practicing or performing? It happened to me once while practicing :-/
I'm actually struggling with that too! If I have Koala as an auv3 instrument I can't figure out how to record into it. It'd be a good question to post on the Loopy Pro facebook group. However, if I have my mic as a hardware input, and I bring in Koala under the effect tab, I can record into it and play it back, but I'm not hearing it live, I'm unable to monitor it. Once I record it into a donut I can hear it... It's a new puzzle to solve 😅
@@inbar.heyman actually it works! add another microphone, add koala as fx and click monitor in koala and just add another mic input for loopy pro incase needed, then mute the one you dont use so you dont hear it twice. i think thats it :) thanksyy
@@inbar.heyman to make it complete, gotta mute the second mic in loopy and the koala monitor "inside" koala to make it work, guess midi mapping or a switch as you build some before can help for make it easy :) thanks for turnado tip btw its really superhelpful to no overload with fx and very different options there to create !!

And are you still giving away that coupon for it?
Love your light energy, Inbar!
Great video and love this song! How do you change the chords when it changes to the bridge / middle eight? Thanks
Thanks!
In this particular song I mapped a button to stop all of the music loops and I played the chorus chords live on the piano.
I have other songs where I have buttons that stop certain clips and play others, that way I can transition between different parts of the song.
I hope that answers your question? 🙏
@@inbar.heyman Hi, thanks. Do you have a video that shows this working and how to setup? Thanks
Check this tutorial out at around the 7:55 mark:

Here for a free copy of Tornado 😅
is ther any harmony app wchich can be create vocal harmony with a guitar in for working with loopy pro ?
I’m not sure exactly what you mean with the guitar, but I can recommend trying BLEASS Voices
Do you have the affiliate link for the Turnado? Would buy it through it, so you would get absolutely earned share :)👍
Thank you for wanting to support me, that means a lot. I don't have an affiliate link with them, but I still highly encourage you to buy it, it's tooo much fun
@@inbar.heyman hey :)
Yeah that’s definitely cool app, but 129€ … uff 😣
I'm surprised to hear it's that expensive... Wait until they make a discount, which they do a few times of the year. I definitely bought it for much less, so it's worth waiting for the right time
Hi, can anyone tell me if loopy pro has prebuilt beats etc, like the ones you can get when you long press a loop on loopy hd, surely I’d thought there would be and more, but I can’t find them? (Thanks in advance)
Loopy Pro doesn’t come with any built in sounds or loops. There are some very cheap iOS apps that you can make beats with inside of Loopy Pro, and I use free drum samples that I import in to Loopy Pro and play as “one shots”.
but how did you connect the mic and ukulele pickup to the iPad? Do you have a hardware mixer?
Here is a tutorial I made explaining my setup:

How do prevent bleed from speaker playback into next loop recording via mic. Are headphones obligatory . Does this mean that the audience has to wait while building tracks . Not clear how you can use it live versus in the studio either headphones
I personally feel that headphones are absolutely obligatory. When I perform live I make sure I'm as far away from the audience's speakers as possible (sometimes I'm still very close to them 😅) and I never have a speaker monitor, only headphones.
There are several things that can help prevent bleed from the speaker into the microphone:
- Whenever possible use electronic instruments (for example I bought an electric ukulele and it's so much better for looping than an accoustic one).
Hi George thank you so much 🙏
I’m not sure what the specs are for the zoom h6, but there’s no such thing as over the top 🙃 I use the u44 and it’s great but I’m sure there are a lot of other great interfaces.
Oh no that sucks.. It may have happened to me while practicing, but somehow nothing like that has ever happened to me while performing🤞
i have one question i cant make to get my audio in (microphone) from loopy input to koala auv3, any idea what i can make wrong with it?
I'm actually struggling with that too! If I have Koala as an auv3 instrument I can't figure out how to record into it. It'd be a good question to post on the Loopy Pro facebook group.
However, if I have my mic as a hardware input, and I bring in Koala under the effect tab, I can record into it and play it back, but I'm not hearing it live, I'm unable to monitor it. Once I record it into a donut I can hear it... It's a new puzzle to solve 😅
@@inbar.heyman will be one of my last puzzles thanks for your feedback :)
@@inbar.heyman actually it works! add another microphone, add koala as fx and click monitor in koala and just add another mic input for loopy pro incase needed, then mute the one you dont use so you dont hear it twice. i think thats it :) thanksyy
@@fuchurschmalspur8109 That’s great, thank you for sharing that, super valuable and helpful 🙏
If Loopy Pro was a person
😌 Wow 😌
