I'm aware of the difference between a nanometer and newton-metre I just do too many videos mentioning chipsets and so it's a habit to say the word 🤦♂️😂
This review is super helpful, it confirmed that I shouldn't even consider the S4. 38% is a lot when you just need it from mobility, but if it's for recreation, the differences sound totally worth it.
Just a notable downside in my opinion on the S4 in comparison to the S3 and S5 is, that the higher gear won't help you much in gaining more speed after the motor gets off due to the speed limit. If you go downhill you'll often quickly reach the top motor speed and won't have any resistance while pedaling. My S3's highest gear just kicks in at 26km/h when the motor turns off and allows me to go even faster by myself and I would never want to miss that! But honestly the S5 isn't an option either for that price 😅 maybe a second hand S3 is the way to go 🙋
This was an awesome review! I've been looking for reviews for the VanMoof now here and this was really helpful. Thanks a lot and thanks again for the review! :)
I have always liked these Van Moofs since i first saw them on the streets of Amsterdam years ago; I figured they were probably not cheap - cool design = more $$$ - but these e-bikes are getting a bit too pricey nowadays, and the fact you have to stress every time you leave it somewhere, worrying if it will be there when you go back is no fun!
It is scary that you don't actually "own" the bike owing to so many features dependent on Vanmoof. Also, repairability is a concern as most of the parts used are proprietary.
Just once I want a coffee grinder to be the audio interruption, it is amazing that every video starts with coffee but it has never happened that i can remember
Thanks for this informative review. I just ordered my S4. Delivery date eta October 😢. I’m sure it’ll be worth the wait. Really enjoyed your support of small business and the history lesson. Ride safely!
Bankrupted! ! I knew that was going to happen since I was investigating a E-bike to buy. Nearly all owners commented how often it would brake down and getting it repaired is a nightmare. Luckily I had the sense to pass it up. Today I have a cannondale road bike made in the late 1980's and a 750w bafang motor. Is that outfit more reliable that a vanmoof, yes....
I was going to get an S2 at the start of the pandemic but how do you ride one without being accused of being a beardy hipster? (no offense). I live in the burbs and recently there’s been this one beardy guy riding an electronic skateboard around my neighborhood making me think which left turn did you miss and end up in my neck of the burbs?
Great video Sir, i still think it is a hard price to swallow, because some e-motorbikes are getting very low, of course, requiring license and the motorbike related conditions but still providing more range and sometimes more features, now even tho, this market is also improving
2:21 I love the bell sounds that sounds just like a submarine sonar. I enjoyed this review even though I have a physical disability, and can't ride a pushbike. However, when you mentioned the torque, you described it in Nanometres. A nanometre is a microscopic measure of length (one billlionth of a metre); what you meant was Newton-metre which a measure of force.
problem is if you don't have a secret guard watching them, they get stolen. :( bikes in usa in large cities.. just go missing. great vid though 8) so for $4k+ 350.. oh that's about a cheap car.. I just don't see these doing that well.
Dont like the bike many many bad thing dont get scammed it doesnt has shock absortion the design is okay so the ride when you ride it will be very worse not worthy the price !

Haven’t they gone bust?
Did you ever get your Stolen Super73 back?

Unfortunately since this week this great Dutch company is on the financial edge...
I mentioned in the video something was kinda weird. Sorry to hear the recent news though. Let's see what happens 🤷♂️
vanmoof went vanpoof
I like it's designed. Not too flashy just nice and modern 😊

A smaller cog would fix this
I love my Vanmoof just for the simple fact it can hold my weight very well lol over 300lbs

Same, bought the s4 but there are no reviews because I think it’s to similar to the s3 to make any videos on it

And now they are bankrupt and shut down their business
Vanmoof? Didn't they used to be a bicycle company..?
Sadly yes lol

Good luck my friend.
Just saw a lot of these in Amsterdam. Thanks for the great review.
Does the Vanmoof requier a apple phone of does it support all phones?
Als je de app kan downloaden dan alle telefoons.

Thanks David for mentioning that VanMoof had to close down some service hubs and that the S3 initially at it's launch was cheaper. Çok yaşa.
Another great video and tour.👍
Love my S3. Vanmoofs are coool
Vanmoof is absolute junk. You’re lucky if you can ride it for a short while until shit starts to fail.
Awesome video, got an S5 on order (before price raised) but would seriously have considered this especially if it's more reliable.
I really want one which model is best ?
@Serouj Not sure we will ever see this now with the current issues Vanmoof have.

59 nanometers, c'mon dude...
RIP Vanmoof

The price has already gone up since this video was posted. Instead of starting at $2,498 they now start at $2,648
Damn, Love all your Reviews in the greastest City ever🤩
Love the design honestly

Great reviews about van moov however the price is rather expensive. I like the concept of the bike hunters.
Miles de personas sin recibir un solo centavo por ordenar esta bicicleta y la versión 5
i would still chain it someone could just pick it up
Feel like I should get one of these purely for the name 😂
Dont like the bike many many bad thing dont get scammed it doesnt has shock absortion the design is okay so the ride when you ride it will be very worse not worthy the price !
💯
