- There will be 5 days of mourning in Iran following the death of their president Ebrahim Raisi. He was killed Sunday with several others after their helicopter went down in the mountains of Iran. New video shows dense fog at the time of the crash.

Helicopters can be very dangerous places particularly when you are attempting to fly in convoy with armed support helicopters under cover of fog and someone decides to specifically target yours
And then the two helicopters accompanying the president didn’t stop. They just headed home.

1. Boeing never built any helicopters for Iran.
2. It's an older helicopter made, by Bell, a company who has no relationship to Boeing
3. The aircraft is about 40 to 50 years old. It's an older design.
4. Sanctions. Iran has been forced to build their own helicopters or fix their own in house with locally made, or smuggled parts due to sanctions
5. Pilot error. remember when Kobe Bryant was killed? Similar conditions. Low visibility while flying low to the ground, in higher altitudes, and mountains, that's a perfect recipe for disaster.

They were riding in a helicopter that hadn't been serviced since the 70's or 80's because Boeing refused to work on them due to the conditions they were in.
