Beet should have been called the headbeet, could have knocked zombies back around the same distance as a spring bean, its plant food can be a lane clear of some kind, etc
The irony of how the devs thought early on these plants would've been too overpowered, and now literally almost every new plant that comes out is overpowered in one way or another.

4:03 But in PVZ1 DLC mod that is a better expansion, there’s a Pult-shroom that costs 0 sun, being similar to Puff-shroom. But Pult-shroom in that mod deals 20 DMG per hit and has range of just six tiles.
Fun fact: In reality, According to biology, all PvZ plants, (and fungi) wouldn’t even be plants, they are only a few exceptions, like the bees from Maybee, tigers from Tiger grass, Crazy Dave etc .

If you are asking, why are there many mushrooms that are scrapped?
My theory is that, most of the mushrooms are supposed to be on adventure levels on Dark Age.
If my theory is correct, it also explains why there aren't many levels on Dark Age.
Icy Currant was likely only added to PvZ2 China as there tend to be a lot more variants of plants there

honestly, a lot of these plants would've been amazing in the final game. and also would add a bit more variety to the adventure plants you can bring, burnade was one of my favorite unused plants despite being so simple.

It´s kinda sad, but i don’t think they are fully removed from the game i think they can still return since pocap had already their designs done for them
2:36 i think i know why they ignore those bug bc those bug only happend if timing right or do it on purpose i believe it fixable but still it never problem for me

It’s sad and disappointing that PopCap removed those plants, they could have reworked some of them to act differently but i hope the rest of plants from the first game are gonna return such as Umbrella Leaf, Cattail and Cob Cannon.
Cattail and cob cannon are in the Chinese version and cannot be added unless they change their ability completely
