didnt seem like the syrup was very thick even after the condensing. Do you think it would be okay if I added a small amount of thickener like corn starch to the grapefruit syrup?
It’s not necessary to add a thickener to simple syrups like this. Just boil it longer to reduce more water out and it will get thicker. Bear in mind it will still be loose when warm so you may need to let it cool to see how thick it is at room temp
@@cd5139 In general I agree with you. they CAN be though if thats what someone wants haha If you boil them down long enough they turn into a super viscous liquid that eventually ends up as a jolly rancher like candy
