This is so much easier than I expected! When I first saw stretchy ribbing I thought there had to be some secret mystical technique😅 thank you for a straight forward demonstration!
thanks for the pattern :) i did this for the first time today and it took a couple tries to get it looking nice. at first i thought i might be doing it wrong because it looked like it was decreasing as i went, but i just had to trust the process and count my stitches. the stitch at the end of a row was always the trickiest.
This is a nice, clear demonstration of how to make slip stitch ribbing! My frustration with this style of ribbing is two-fold. Firstly, even experienced crocheters can find it hard to slip stitch loosely enough to make this work and secondly, it requires you to make the ribbing separately (a hat brim for instance) and then attach it to your project. I prefer being able to have a project where everything is integrated.
Thank you! Very helpful, and you went at the perfect speed to follow along clearly. I appreciate the time you took to share this with us! Happy New Year!
ia it best to use a hook that is slightly big or go smaller, the perfect size? i usually crochet with a 6mm hook.. should i take a 4mm for this? i have fluffy yarn

I agree with the difficulty in getting the tension right! I'm still struggling!
Could you not just go up a few hook sizes?
