This guy hosts some of the best tutorials I've seen. He does not speak a single word of bullshit, everything makes total sense, and he knows exactly what you want to hear in terms of A/B'ing throughout the progress of the sound. It's always great to watch a pro tweak a sound out of the rough into perfection - even better when they're so good at communicating their every move
This dude is the real deal. There are so many mixing engineers on TH-cam, who have no idea what they're doing. But this guy is experienced, you can tell by his workflow. I would recommend anyone rewatch this video and take notes.
Love watching how he tweaks the plugins and seeks for the EQ spot by boosting and then adjusting once he finds the spot. So easy to understand his thinking. Agree. No BS. Just Tony being Tony and adding small layers of goodness like a good audio artisan!
What I find interesting here is what separates the amateurs from the pros. This guy does a superb job fine tuning the sound. If you listen to the samples with and without the filters, to a layman both would sound virtually the same. But it takes a musician like me (and people w/ good ears) and a super pro like him to hear the difference. He doesn't really do much to the sound. Just tweaks it ever so slightly to remove the bass's tendency to cover up everything else. He also fines tunes it so that it sounds clear and sharp rather than muddied in the background. By making it clearer, the voice (at the end) punches through. This guy is a genius.
Wonderfully high quality sound and great demonstration of how each element affects things. Also sad to hear that excellent bass line gradually cut down and buried under a lot of less musically interesting distractions.
Nice and useful. However there's a short and annoyingly sharp mid range percussive sound in the second mix, which makes it hard to focus on the bass sound.
"Lets throw a bunch of stuff on the bass and then try to sort it out and make sense at the end with some "sonic additions" on our "sonic pallet" like maybe some "airy fur". That'll certainly bring more energy to the track. (removes glasses and stares into camera) (Puts glasses back on) now let's mess with the "dramatic quality" shall we"
To Tony Maserati, Big question, who is the smartest singer you ever worked with sonically, who knew thier instrument the best(?voice, what it needed) asking all the engineers
saludo mucho gusto, solo tengo esta sugerencia. podrían traducirlo al español sus vídeos, ya que todas las personas hablan ese idioma. solo es una idea
as a true bass player for one thing its all ready a distorted sound.so any more of that wont sound right..i would have just told them to play the bass over again...so in other words that bass track is no good to began with...remember you cant fix that sound with plugins...rerecord it start with a clean sound.this only applies too the first bass sound

I mean… he mixed Blurred Lines. He’s a legend
The snare and claps sound fantastic
I thought the same, so much punch
@morenazo952 yeah, kinda ear-bleeding.
So amazing, so crispy.
I disagree. I don’t like the reverb and I can’t hear the snare on the 2 or 4. The snare is also too high pitched for my taste.

The man talks a lot about energy. He has an attitude towards how it should sound. But basically it is about taste and pleasure.
Agreed! 🤘
BRUCE BANNER ON THE MIX
That threshold trick to make it sound like some sort of sidechaining was cool!
damn sounds good, them drums snappy punchy, everything sounds great, we need moar masterati videos!
The subtle moves add up to such a difference.
Watched this because I'm interested in the SSL 4000 collection. I'm sold.
Me too....yesterday....The cheap price for a few days has been fantastic and I am happy that I did it.🍀👍
Nothing like watching another pro twirl the knobs. I'm glad I'm not the only guy that uses that many inserts! 😂
Those awesome drums remind me of Been Caught Stealing by Jane's Addiction. Same kind of snap and clarity, same goes for the bass.
Love that sound!
That bass line makes me dance
La tiene atada tony. El secreto está en q él ya se imagina el sonido que quiere antes de poner el primer plugin. Pocas personas tienen ese don.
eso no es un don...eso es saber lo que haces.
"isi ni is in din, isi is sibir li qui hicís"
JAJAJAJAJA
Thank you again I've watched a lot of your teachings on here and find them very helpful.. Thank you again

Yep! It makes all the difference in the mix
Damn Tony, you are the best! I just wish I could afford you.
This guy reminds me about Cary Grand mixed with George Clooney! Why none has done a 60th movie with him.. Hes a real actor!! Watch 5:26

Sounds fine here, could it be your room?
U r one of the best...Tnx 4 tips
good stuff but why is he using a mouse to edit plugins when he has a d command?
You are amazing

Haha yes i think he knows what he's doing but he would never tell you anything that after hearing you would be like ok I get it.
How much RAM is this computer? Wtf.. All those plugins on one session... I wish i had 1 like that.. I always have to be carefull in my sessions lol
Snare’s interesting...sounds like a small diameter deep wooden drum. Almost a popcorn?
Thanks for the great vid! I definitely got something out of it!
To Tony Maserati,
Big question, who is the smartest singer you ever worked with sonically, who knew thier instrument the best(?voice, what it needed) asking all the engineers
you saved me again
I love how he refers to plug-ins as people
He’s talking about the people who made the presets/plugins
snare very loud?
Did any one notice the room has no acoustics ?
wade123davis You don’t need them if you know your room and what it sounds like. The back of his studio behind him has a ton of treatment.
The guy has millions of dollars. I'm sure they are built in the walls
Amazing, he could be an Apple engineer for Logic Pro
You're not using your Signature Series. Something ain't right! Don't you have Maserati B72 for bass and Maserati DRM for drums? Snake oil?
There's a really annoying reverb muddying up the drums in part of the loop. I'd dump that. The claps are also annoyingly harsh.
nice
what song is that ?
Shahnewaz manto I believe it’s called Sandstorm by Darude
It is Whitney Woerz "Idea of Her"
@@Anonymous-mx9dh 🤣

activa el CC , ve a la rueda de settings y escoge el idioma .
ok gracias
1.5k 🤤
awesome video but that big room fx is just annoying...
Hmmm... Cool!
The drums sound like old school red hot chili peppers drums, californication era
Too many plugins for the bass to cut through!
Hey, to each his own.
Sounds good though!

Реклама плагинов, не более. Звук слабенький. Как с таким "продакшном" вообще можно иметь имя...
Shiiiiiiit
Nice
