    I am sorry and embarrassed!! I asked a whole slew of questions about the machine in another of your posts and all I had to do was spend literally one minute looking at your stuff!
    Very cool sir!
    You are a gentleman and a scholar!

    This is a great tutorial! The materials are simple and easy to source. I wish this was around last year when I did the exact same thing, etching a tuna onto my hand-forged santoku knife. In order to make it appear as if the tuna was underwater, I made a hamon first near the spine during heat treating. This is a quick and easy way to add customization and value to your work.

    Is the battery outputting AC or DC? from what I read DC etches, AC blackens. Yours looks like both.

    Do you use the regular or permanent vinyl sheet? What design software do you use? Thanks!

    • @DIYeasycrafts
      @DIYeasycrafts  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use the software that cam with the silhouette cameo to cut the vinyl. I use corel draw to create the art

    What is on the top of your electro etching plate?

    • @DIYeasycrafts
      @DIYeasycrafts  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Its just a small pc of steel tube welded onto a flat plate. The tube serves as a handle and place to drill and tap hole to secure wire lead.

    Is there a way to ech copper or brass like that ?

    • @DIYeasycrafts
      @DIYeasycrafts  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Electro etching is basically controlled corrosion. So it will not work well on brass or copper

    Do you use an old or new battery charger for this? I have heard that some of the newer ones "know" whether they are connected to a battery or not and will refuse to send power if they are not.

    • @DIYeasycrafts
      @DIYeasycrafts  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good point I have an old or "Dumb" charger, newer model might not work but the etching should work with any similar power supply.

      @@DIYeasycrafts This is the problem I've run into with everyones tutorial on this. Use a battery charger that you won't be able to find anymore.

      I wonder if this is why I have been unable to get this to work. :/ I've been attempting to mark my tools for months now. I just bought a $30 set of steel stamps to try hammering into my tools yesterday....
