Everytime I watch one of these videos I wonder if one could do this by painting the knife with black paint, then using a laser etched to burn away the paint where you want to etch, or if the paint would melt with the heat. I guess ill have to try it myself. Just don't have anything I could think of that I need to etch.
Excellent work! & thanks for sharing your tips and tricks. Have you tried paint masking in lieu of vinyl? wondering what type paint would work best, (I'm working on an old axe restauration)
@@DIYeasycrafts I have not had success with brass in anyway. It will take the black color well. But I get absolutely no depth to the etch at all. Thank you for your reply! Enjoy your videos.
I’m interested in how the knife handle was made from a photo from your friend , do they have a you tube channel or some where to see his work, I’ll have to try to do this metal etching, very 😎
Just have a bowl of popcorn when the video loaded. Guess both combinations workout just fine. Thanks for all these amazing artwork 🥳🥳
Enjoy!
Thanks for the information. Beautiful handle on that knife!
Thank you

Sorry but never tried paint.
Have you ever etched brass bolsters on a knife? I am wondering if the etchants and power settings would be the same or something entirely different?
I do not think electro etching will work on brass
I have done it on stainless bolsters

Does this effect the temper of the knife??

His name is Joesph from Mad Max Custom knife handles. You can find him on facebook
I like it this I think l will try this
Hi, I noticed that your charger has a 10A and a 50A setting, what would happen if you used one of those setting to etch?
I know the 2amps works and dont want to get electrocuted LOL
What brand of vinyl are you using?
What kind of vinyl cutter do you use?
a silhouette cameo but cricket would also work
@@DIYeasycrafts Awesome, thank you! Thank you for the informative videos as well!
Where did you buy the vinyl?
Its called Style Etch Craft got it from amazon.com
I started doing this with my old knives using a 9v battery and ear swabs
Save some money on batteries. Use a 12v DC power supply.
I have to gain some computer skills. I still do this by scraping off paint. That's 80% of the work! 😅
You can do it!
Очень красиво ,но очень много болтавни.
Plastic wood? Get real. Otherwise, great video and thanks for sharing.
