This game reminds me of the original Unreal Engine 5 PS5 Tech Demo, first game that looks true Next Gen to me. Not my usual cup of tea genre/game wise but definitely intrigued and tempted to give this one a go. Refreshing to see such a well put together master piece in the current climate of so many half assed and unfinished games being released.
Performance mode seems to have a lot of shimmering. Edit: just checked a resolution mode footage and the difference is huge. At 4k the game does look like a next gen title truly. Don't know what's going on with performance mode. They have to do something about this.
I've seen people complaining because of the checkerboard rendering in the performance mode. While taa with drs does provide a better image (as seen in Spiderman/MM, and Control) this is still pretty awesome. Recent games like DL2, and Guardians of the Galaxy that only render at 1080p in performance mode are far more deserving of criticism.
finally finish the game last week! the story line is brilliant.. they must have been thoroughly thinking about Forbidden West when Zero Dawn was still in planning

you do realise youtube ads are targetted to you right? not everyone sees the same ads.. youve obviously been involved in xbox content or watching xbox videos.. thats why you'd be seeing it xbox related ads

The fidelity mode is even better btw, rare occasion where performance does look a bit worse. But yeah, game looks phenomenal and there have been so many improvements its insane!
Honestly, the 60fps mode is disappointing, somehow it's blurry as well as full with shimmery artifacts. The TAA does a terrible job. The 30fps mode looks next gen, the 60fps mode looks last gen. Hopefully guerilla can improve it, or maybe bring out a 40fps 4k mode?
There is pop in everywhere in this game dont know if you noticed but in cutscenes every time the scene changes you can see textures loading in and objects popping in
Just depends on where aloy connects and how the machine is positioned. It’s not like a paired animation. Sometimes it just ends up in a weird spot on impact but it isn’t just always like that.
This game has a lower metacritic score than forza horizon 5 and psyconauts 2. I’m sure they have better things to do than to be salty about a game with low metascore

yes foliage does move thats been proved and examined, including grass... obvioulsy not every single thing can be interacted with that would be extremely expensive in an open world game

This game is Insane, can't wait to play
the foilage density is insane truly spits on all open worlds
It’s also cool that it reacts to your movements through it. Not every game does that.
Rockstar will conquer in their GTA 6. And Red Dead 2 still looks incredible.
If you think about it Horizon is just an analogy & allegory to what currently happening in the real world...

Yeah performance mode looks bad. Their TAA solution combined with checkerboard leaves a shimmery and blurry mess.

30 fps is ok if it's stable. It's not a fast paced fps game.
