Wow, this really took me back. I went to the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, which is right next door to the MIA. They held our graduation at the MIA's theater in 2007, which is when I learned that there's actually an underground tunnel connecting MCAD's Morrison Building and the museum!

if you haven’t left the twin cities area yet, i recommend you visit the conservatory in Como Park, St. Paul. another beautiful free public place to visit! there are also some wonderful libraries in the twin cities, the downtown Minneapolis one has four stories, and the George Latimer Central Library in downtown St. Paul is in a beautiful early 20th century building with several stories to explore!

That reminds me of a Frank Lloyd Wright building.
We owned an Arts & Crafts bungalow at the end of the 1900s. I loved it.
We live not far from the original Grant Wood American Gothic house. I've been there many times.
It is very peaceful with pathways banked by native wildflowers attracting butterflies, dragonflies, birds, bees, etc ❤😊.
Frank Lloyd Wright was way ahead of his time. Most people don’t realize suburban American homes were modeled long after his designs

@Joe-zj4ks So true about being ahead of his time. His buildings didn't compete with the landscape but blended into the surrounding natural environment. He disturbed as little as possible. The house in Iowa is in such a tiny town & difficult to even locate because it blended in so well. Open & spacious without being ostentatious. Amazing.
