It’s probably because Akira Yamaoka at first wasn’t a composer. He went from making sound effects to being forced to make music for the first Silent Hill game. It explains why the first Silent Hill game’s music is very. . . brutal and more to instill foreboding or pure terror 90% of it. Then with SH2 he became more musically inclined, but as you can see in his own way.
This was one of the first songs I learned on piano. On Akira's version, you really need 3 hands to play all three parts simultaneously to the song but this guy somehow combined 2 parts into one hand. My brain was trying to comprehend this for a while. I'm so impressed with this version! It's now my favorite! Inspired to learn it now but my brain will have to unlearn the original way I know 😩

I only played SH2 but it seemed to be one of the best. I was lucky enough to play that one. Actually I bought SH3 during that time the seller in the store told me that it was even better than SH2 and even more scarier. That last remark made me not to play the game. As you know I love the Resident Evil series but this game is scarier for me. I really recommend it!

Nice cover. My favorite music from video games is from Silent Hill series. I must say i am proud to own Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3 soundtrack on cd. Silent hill 2 is maybe my favorite of all series but Akira Yamaoka did great job on all soundtracks. And movie from 2006 was best video game adaptation ever. Its like you are in a game. Atmosphere , music , story , scenography brilliant.

Im a beginner and was looking for a good arrangement of this, and most ones have the base line of the beginning part throughout the song, which isnt how the song goes, this one is very close to the original, having the high notes played all the way! I looked at the sheet version of this and was very confused as to how its played, thankfully your video was linked. moving your left hand over your right one seems so weird, i havent seen this before, i dont think i can do it yet with all the switching haha great cover

I live about 30 minutes away from Centralia PA (the ghost town silent hill is based on) and im trying to learn this so i can take my piano down on a foggy morning and play this where the town once stood or maybe even the old highway if i can find a spot that hasn't been covered up.
I really like this song. Your piano sounds amazing, and I like the more advanced way to play it like you just did. I am going to try to learn it now but I can't read music so I'll be doing a lot of rewinding haha

You can buy HD versions of SH2 and 3 on xbox one not sure about PS4 though
