Using the 6mm bolts to get that damper off helped A LOT here on the _NP231J SYE upgrade...while in there did the 3-->6 gear planetary swap, Teraflex 2WD low + the 1"-->1-1/4" wide chain upgrade_ . This was a good video to watch before the NP231J here was worked on. Thank you *ASAP Automotive Channel* for this video!

I would have appreciated a listing of all special tools needed. I caught the OTC Seal driver kit number but, did not get any useful info on the correct pliers needed or the other puller you used on the bearing. Maybe you can add that for future viewers?

For cleaning parts I use mineral spirits in a spray bottle. Great for plastic parts. It's great for degreasing before painting also.

Great video. I have a knocking sound coming from my T Case when driving, I was hoping to get a clue what it is from this vid.

An easy method for pulling blind hole needle bearings is to put grease in the bottom of the hole. Take a shaft (I use a wooden dowel) of the same diameter. You could also use an old transmission shaft. Drive the shaft in with a hammer with a few sharp blows. The hydraulic pressure will push the bearing right out. Works every time. I use that method for removing pilot bushings in a clutch plate.

Great tip on raising the blind puller up a bit. I was about to give up using my puller. Your trick worked great!
