The Eagles drank pickle juice on the sidelines because one of the coaches I think had heard about it being used in college. One would hope you would know, that it's the spices in the juice (brine) that make a cucumber into a pickle. You can use the same juice with spices to make pickled eggs. No pickle (soaked in brine cucumber) needed. And "pickle" juice is definitely a great, quick fix for leg cramps. I keep a jug in my refrigerator just for that reason. Tho, those individual "tubes" would probably take up less room, and stay fresh longer.

    • @robloxislandsbyfeathersong
      @robloxislandsbyfeathersong 18 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

It is not the spices in the brine that make a cucumber into a pickle; it is the brine itself that pickles a cucumber. The only thing spices do is add flavor. You need a brine made of water and vinegar and/or salt to turn pickles into cucumbers. Spices are optional as they don't do the pickling.

You aren't going to find "Pickle" as an ingredient because Pickles are literally Cucumbers in a Vinegar bath/marinade. You might also see dill in there if they're dill flavored.
Also, freezing a salty anything will just bring out the salty flavor because everything, except the salt, is more compacted when it freezes.

    Dishwasher magnet vs dishwinkle..
The dishwinkle selling point is that you forget to flip the magnets. But wouldn’t you have the same exact problem of forgetting to empty the dishwinkle of water 🤦
    It solves nothing.
Actually it’s worse than nothing.. the magnets tell you from the outside if the dishes are clean or dirty.
The dishwinkle sits inside so you have to open the door. At that point you can just look at the dishes to see if they are clean or not.

It seems we might have different understandings of the intended purpose of these types of devices. Let me clarify the problem with how I think a dishwasher magnet should work:
Small disclaimer, I wrote this story, posted it, then had ChatGPT proof-read it and I replaced the original text with the proof-read version. The story flows much better after the proof-read but now it feels a bit robotic.
      Disclaimer finished. Here's the story:
Imagine a family of four-parents and two teenage children. Over the course of five meals, the dishwasher gets filled. At some point, the dad notices it’s full, runs the dishwasher, and flips the dishwasher magnet to the “clean” side. After the cycle finishes, the dishes are now clean.
Now, let’s fast forward to the next meal. The dishwasher is still full of clean dishes, but hasn’t been emptied yet. During the meal, one of the children finishes eating first and goes to put away their dirty dish. They need to decide whether to place it in the dishwasher or the sink.
Using the magnet as a guide, they see the dishwasher is marked as “clean.” This tells them the dishwasher hasn’t been emptied yet, so they put their dirty dish in the sink to be loaded later.
Later, another family member empties the dishwasher and flips the magnet to the “dirty” side.
By the next meal, the dishwasher is ready to collect dirty dishes again. When the family checks the magnet and sees “dirty,” they know to put their dirty dishes directly into the dishwasher instead of the sink.

@@JamieSnell402 You completely miss the part of the argument where you forgot to flip over the indicator to dirty, The indicator still says clean, everybody's dishes are in the sink and the dishwasher is empty, this happens every time with my partner.
The advantage to this indicator inside the dishwasher is if you open the dishwasher and see water in the indicator you know to put it in the sink, but it also prompts people to empty the dishwasher and load the dishes instead of everything sitting in the sink

sounds like the magnet and this thing actually serve two different purposes. the magnet is an incentive to be lazy and instead of opening the dishwasher, emptying it and putting your dirty dishes in, you wait for someone else to do it and don't even take a look. this "new" device just makes it easier to tell if the dishes in the dishwasher are dirty or not. not something i personally would have an issue with when i already opened the dishwasher 🤷

In the summer when you’ve been sweating a lot, pickle juice or these pops would help a lot! I used to work for a friend of ours at our local renaissance festival and on the really hot days, we’d sip pickle juice to replace the salts we were losing from sweating so much. I remember being at a music festival and my husband had sweat so much, his T-shirt had salt stains on it when it dried off after he took it off.

Back in the day our old fridge froze a jar of pickles that was stored in the door. I went to get a pickle and it was nearly frozen but I chomped on it anyway and I was hooked! The juice was like a slushy and the inside of the pickle was crunchy with ice crystals. I was pregnant at the time but still eat frozen pickles to this day. So do yourself a favor and just buy a jar of pickles and freeze them yourself. Obviously you can freeze the juice too and it costs a whole lot less than $12 and you get way more for your money! You even get a reusable glass jar lol! Big fan of the Freaking Reviews and usually don't comment but I felt compelled to tell my little story.

It's great if you're going to dehydrate because the combination of the salt and the vinegar usually there's vinegar and some of these but not always is quite a way to avoid dehydration it kind of helps so my guess is the pickle pop was designed to be the equivalent supposedly and natural equivalent to Gatorade or something like it.

For the price of the Dishwinkle, I can put a whole lot of small squirts of ketchup or mustard on the inside of the dishwasher door. If ketchup or mustard is present inside the door, then the dishes are dirty. Easy peasy. And super cheap. Even free if I take home the extra packets of McD's ketchup I always seem to end up with. I go ahead and put the tiny dab of ketchup on the inside of the door when I empty the clean dishes out of the machine rather than waiting for loading. I don't work for the government so I don't need expensive and/or complicated solutions for simple problems.

For our house where there are only two of us, the Dishwinkle would be highly problematic. I hand wash items frequently. We probably run the dishwasher MAYBE once every three weeks. The water would start to stink up the dishwasher. I wouldn’t want to spill the water in the reservoir because the dishwasher has already pumped the water out. Allowing it to spill into the tub would leave me with the same problem as above. I will stick with my magnet, that I also forget to flip 90% of the time.

Bailey wasn't saying she didn't like it. She was just wondering if she could eat it. Hard pass on the popcorn. it's too expensive and FYI, you can get popcorn flavoring powders at the grocery store. I have a little collection that I rotate through: salt and vinegar, chili cheese, ranch, lemon pepper and jalapeno cheese. The pickle pop is ingenious if it's really dill pickle juice. When cucumbers are pickled, they leech out the potassium in them into the pickling liquid making it a great electrolyte replacement. When I have leg or foot cramps, I just take a couple of swallows and it makes them stop. That looked like just the right amount too.

The dishwasher thing is hilarious to me. I am the only person who uses my dishwasher so I know exactly what is clean or not. The machine holds clean dishes. Dirty ones go in the sink to wait for the next run. So a dish is either in the machine clean, or in the sink waiting. There's no question. If the sink is empty, the machine is running or has already run and everything inside is clean. It's so simple I had no idea people needed reminders.

I live in the Philippines - how about a cost of $7.50 including shipping. BUT, no magnet mounting. TWS is the "knock-off?" king of BT speakers. I have several and they work as advertised. The adds say glass is best for mid-range.
Pickles are very high in Sodium and the extra salt is what helps to reduce leg cramps. I'm 77 and suffer from middle of the night cramps if I don't consume enough salt. My companion dosen't add very much when she cooks. I do take Zinc and eat bananas.
500mg is the minimum recommend amount - 2,300 is the max.

First time I encountered them was at a football game concession stand, and it was just pickle juice frozen in those little clear condiment cups. 25 cents. From there we started making them at home in ice trays when the pickle jar was empty. And now you pay eight bucks for six of them.

About the speakers; there are actual speakers made that use this same technology. They put a transducer on a flat panel to generate the sound. So, experiment with putting your speaker transducers on various thicknesses of wood panels, plastic panels, etc., and compare that way. I'll bet there's one item out there which will sound surprisingly good. If you do this, try putting the transducer not only in the center of the panel, but somewhere off-center.
