Ya know a lot of car channel vids this long are 20% interesting content, 80% filler n fluff. Yours is 100% interesting: Straightforward, nice editing, learning a lot, good stuff

When you were under the car you talked about how "honest" the car was. That's the way I feel about your channel. Always seems like honest, down to earth content. Thanks for that. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Wonderful how simple cars were in those days . A pleasure to work on . So user friendly . Modern cars are a nightmare . I am in the UK and retired now . I have owned and restored many old British cars . They had real character but the American cars had such style . Pieces of art . Such things will never be made again sadly . My daily driver is an old Granada . Owned it many years and in spite of my 82 years I still maintain it . Only just found your channel . I love it . You guys are amazing and remind me of myself in past times . Best wishes from a petrol head old timer ...

I just sat down with my lunch. Facebook said your video was on. Not a huge fan of the Mustang. But I gotta say, I did enjoy watching it. That car cleaned up nicely. Gotta say one thing though. Living in Germany for so many years. First thing I do, before I even start...I wash everything. Must be a German Schultz thing. And the Bluegrass music makes me smile. Whoever buys this car will be a happy camper. Keep up the great work. Rob, Cairns, "finally open again" Queensland...Australia

That's exactly what Iacoca showed to ol' Shelby, baby blue and all, and told, not ask, to make a race car out of it. Carrol was pissed off but had no choice !
He called it a darn secretary car. He was right !
    The rest is history. 😊

My first car was a used 1964 1/2 Mustang. Light blue, 6 cyl 170 engine and a 3 spd transmission. This definitely brought back memories. Drove it to my senior prom. I'm not into the muscle cars, but have a soft spot for the early Mustangs.

Love your old school manuel tire machine , the one i used back in the 70s at the first tire shop i worked at had the top hold down and a long bar one end to remove and one end with the curve to install back on the wheel , that was what i used in Cragers to keep from braking the centers out . Ask me how i know !! Lol

Excellent video, enjoyed it. I have a 68 Mustang I bought in 1977. Lifelong Southern California car. 289, automatic, factory AC, power steering, and MANUAL BRAKES!! Weird . Has the optional hood with the turn signal lights in it. In Excellent condition both mechanically and physically inside and out. I love this car, so many memories, I was 18 when I got it, im 62 now!! For some strange reason the guy looking back at me in the rear view mirror, doesn't look alot like the the same guy 45 years ago.....guess the mirror has gone bad.....😊

My first car was a 289 HP 66 Mustang with spinners this color GT package. Even had AC. She was very fast and responsive. Duels slotted exhaust out rear pan below bumper. I didn't like the tail lights are the fuel cap. I had plans for that, I wanted the fuel cap in trunk like VW. And flush tail lights. I also had fog lights and Porsche head screens, the floor shift counsel rattled, that sucked. I had sitting very low and weight in trunk for better traction. They slide pretty easy. Had to have winter tires for snow. Summer tire were Goodyear wide ovals with mug hubcaps with sinners. Boy I miss that baby. I'm 72 and that was long ago.

Great videos on this pretty Mustang. I owned the same thing as 2+2 myself in 1973. Not fast and will never get 30mpg. But it's solid American automotive simplicity; basic maintenance anyone can do! No expensive trips to the mechanic.
With good upkeep, this car will provide someone many more years of service.
I wonder how that engine would perform with a Weber progressive 2bbl? There used to be intake-mod manifolds that would allow the outer cylinders to get the same intake flow as the inners. Also, some builders like to place a metal or asbestos plate between the intake and the exhaust manifolds -- so the carb and intake don't get hot from the exhaust manifold below.

Congratulations on finding and obtaining a piece of automotive history. I applaud you on keeping it original to pass it on intact to the next owner. The only thing I would question is the replacement of the single bowl master cylinder. I bought a used Mustang similar to the one you have. I left the dealer on my way to work in Richmond when the right front wheel cylinder blew out, leaving me with no brakes at all. I was able to safely come to a stop using the emergency brakes and have the car towed back to the dealer for repairs. Since that time I have been skeptical of single bowl master cylinders. When I could, I converted that single bowl to a dual bowl master cylinder for safeties sake and piece of mind. This is not meant as a criticism, just an observation from my personal experience. Thank you for saving this car.

Use the sacrificial drill bit method to remove the leaf spring bushings and eliminate that press and the associated heavy awkward lifting.. That saved me a ton of headaches with doing jeep restorations. zips them right out and if theres a sleeve I just use a air chisel and cut a line down them where the eye loop and spring flat meet. Collapses them and they fall right out. Your young back will thank ya later!
