This is a very nice truck. Those automated transmissions in those things are pretty nice once you get used to them the newer ones are better than the first generation with making loud clicking noises and popping themselves out of gear mid-shift. Was a great movie if you washed it in mute the music got to be a bit much.

Surprised that they are only running 445hp in USA. In Australia we run the mp10 and 12 @ 535hp and 685hp for that size prime mover.
Um, well you Ozzies pull THREE full length trailers at the same time. We're not allowed to do that here so we don't need the extra power.
@@largol33t1 We don't have road trains in NZ but 600hp is the average. Truck does not have to work as hard with decent amount of horseys pulling but yea guess it is about finding that fuel economy sweets pot.

love macks, not a huge fan of that steering wheel. perfer the older style. otherwise thats a gorgeous Anthem... MAcks have always been the most comfortable and best riding trucks.

Have you driven the new one like this. Great, old days are done and I am so glad after nearly 50 yrs.
Neither is missing a gear as I have seen.
Mack makes a nice rig. BUT, unlike PACCAR or Freightliner you just can't get one fixed anywhere. Few Mack dealers out there and Mack engine are only made by Mack. If you go with a Cummins, CAT or Detroit you can get it worked on anywhere.

All these new trucks may look fancy, but internally they're all garbage with the DPF, SCR and DEF emissions system. The amount of shop time I've had due to emissions related issues is unreal.

The trucking industry really needs to hire some interior design people- they all use that shitty cheap ass grey plastic on the interiors, my 2000 MACK VISION WITH 80 INCH BUNK WAS WAY WAY BETTER TRIMMED OUT THEN THIS, I know trucking companies don't care or want to pay for better trim or color schemes but the drivers s sure would appreciate it especially owner operators, not only would it give you more pride in your ride but would help on the resale. I know companies think of trucks as tools to use up and get rid of and they are all going to be disposed of in a few years but an owner operator may hang on to that truck more then a decade

Looks like Mack basically stole a small design section from most other modern make and model trucks and incorporated it into their own. I see Kenworth, International, Volvo, Western Star and Freightliner contour designs in there. Fail.
Please tell me people won’t buy this price of shit?
