    I just picked up this laptop at BestBuy here in Ottawa, Canada, and amazingly enough, it actually came with faster Micron memory with the exact timings that Jarrod's 'faster' memory kit has. So it looks like Asus has either solved the supply shortage, or I got really lucky. Just wanted to let other potential buyers know.

      @anubis44 You're lucky! I bought mine from best buy here in the states in August 2021, and it came with the cheap Samsung Ram. Ram is fairly inexpensive though when sticking with a 16g Ram kit(dual 8gb sticks), so it didn't hurt the bank. It's super interesting that some are coming with better parts though.

    I would like to add that Asus Turbo equals Lenovo performance. Balance mode in Lenovo is equal to Performance mode in Asus. In conclusion, this gets 14000 in Cinebench R23 and 5400 in R20. There is more power deliver to the CPU on the Asus. The 5900HX on this laptop is the most powerful multicore mobile CPU per watt in the market. I'm not sure how you got 11,702 on Cinebench R23. My scores are always 13,600ish on performance. Turbo always hits the 14k. The only way I get 11,800k is when running silent mode. Thank you for sharing.

      @@pumpkinpeen5937 Today, 16gb is more than enough, trust me. It is hard a game that demands more than 12 gb ram, max i see on my laptop was 11gb. Having 32 or 64gb is for content creators. Ironically, I have 32gb (16x2) just cause I found it on sale for 80$ (before shortage), same ram that jarrod's tech use on his G15 review. Was eyeing this model for almost a month, which is sold for 1650$ in best buy. But almost 1/3 of the reviews complained of doa gpus, probably fried by excessive use of liquid metal by asus. That soured my taste and I splurged for a 3080 x17. I hope asus will iron out the kinks in their production line, and this will be a good competitor to 3070/3080 models. I really like that amd is bringing the heat to Intel and Nvidia! Intel had already got their shit together with the 11h series on laptops, and Nvidia might get an ass pounding like Intel got last gen, if they don't be careful. Competition on the supply side is always good for customer! Best!

    I bought this laptop on sale at 1099 on November 2022 from 1699 of the original price for the QHD version.
    With the money I saved I upgraded the SSD with 2 fast 1TB Gen 3 from Sabrent that runs cool and is much faster for gaming (I have cloned the internal to the first Sabrent and then replace it with another Sabrent for a 2TB total SSD), I replaced the slow stock ram 1Rx16 CL22 with super-fast 2x16GB DDR4 1Rx8 CL20 Kingston FURY (total 32GB) & I also replaced the unreliable WI-FI/Bluetooth card with a fast and reliable INTEL AX210 NGW. All this costed about 320$ that can be 220$ if you go for the more than enough 16GB ram. All the components I have removed I sold them for used and I made some extra cash (about 100$) for the rest of the upgrades.
    All the above are super easy to do if you have basic computer skills, 15’ time and a LTT screwdriver.
    With the remaining money I bought also on sale: one ROG Falchion NX 65 keyboard, one mouse ROG Chakram, the AUKEY PC-LM1E 1080p camera and the Creative Pebble V3 Speakers (total cost another 200$).
    All the above upgrades and accessories costed less than the discount I got from best buy and I added a few more $ to the ones I made by selling the stock parts for one QHD LG Ultragear 27GP850-B monitor at 165Hz that is currently on sale at 300$ for a full gaming set up and for bypassing completely the integrated GPU since there is no MUX switch in this laptop.
    On benchmarks and on new AAA games this configuration is faster about 25%-30% of the original configuration and faster than a i7 11800H + RTX 3080M laptop that cost about double the original 1699 price of this laptop with smaller SSD and less RAM! All upgrades plus the laptop and peripherals cost me a total of 1820$. All this for a full gaming set up (external screen, keyboard, mouse, speakers and camera) plus 2TB SSD, 32GB ram and fast WIFi6.
    Every game run on ultra-settings smoothly as butter.
    I highly recommend it even on original price at best buy if you are considering buying the Nvidia variation and you will have the fastest laptop out there and a lot of hard earned $ saved.

But I found someone got this issue like me in website. This is my first laptop and I am so sad. Tomorrow I will take this and go to ASUS service center.

    Hi, it is normal that in some games the CPU temp is above 90 degrees celsius ?

    • @Terafied
      @Terafied  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends on your performance profile and ambient temperature. But usually yes, the CPU would be around the 90C mark under load. It’ll only hover in the 80s using Turbo mode and in a relatively cool ambient temperature.

      @Fernando Gallegos Yes you're good. I run msi afterburner just for monitoring cpu/gpu/ram Temps and usage and good majority of demanding games run anywhere from 85-93. I use an angled cooling pad to give it a bit more air flow as well.

    Hey, I realised something very weird about this machine, the Ryzen 9 5900HX is cooked, yes you are fryeding your processor, I don't know why this is it, but 171watts to a laptop processor while a desktop reach only 105watts with better cooling system, something is wrong, I thing you can download Renoir mobile tuning and setting 65watts to boost, and 54watts to slow. I thing that your laptop will die soon If you continues to fryeding it
