The company Decker STOLE Ugg Australia's name and illegally trademarked it in the USA. The US government let them get away with it. Decker's version of UGG shoes are the ones that are made in China thats why they are so bad compared to the Australian version. Everyone needs to BOYCOTT the USA version of UGG and go support the UGG made in Australia!

Wonderful and informative video! Never knew there was a difference in Uggs. In fact a pair of Uggs ( style:Barelo) literally fell apart. My husband had purchased these at an outlet and the sole separated from the shoe. Guess what? These boots had cardboard under the sole.... Yes cardboard and yes..it was made in China. Never again. And sadly the US company has sued the pants off the real original Ugg Australia maker and WON... And now he has to pay them a Million dollars. He made a video about it here about 10days ago. This is so true!! I want to add that here in the USA they changed the soles around the time this video was made and the soles became even cheaper. I realized this then, and I'm about to get a pair from AUS now. Even though they are not recommended in the cold, they are the warmest most comfortable, and we wear them often. Ugg is not a brand, but a generic term for a style of boot; sheepskin boots originating in Australia since the 60’s and 80’s worn by surfers to keep their feet warm after getting out of the water. The Ugg Australia you’re probably used to has nothing to do with Australia with exception of it’s name. It’s neither Australian owned nor Australian made. Decker is a American company if I’m not mistaken that are blackmailing Aussie brands/companies that makes Ugg boots, and has done so for generations, trying to stop them from doing business outside of Australia, selling to foreigners and Americans. So there’s no such thing as “fake VS real”, but rather Authentic Aussie owned and Aussie made VS non Aussie companies that sell an inferior product labeled as Ugg.

I could be wrong (I don't think I am), check it out, but I have never seen a non sunburst (like design) on an authentic UGG sole. One other thing. Sparkling wine made anywhere can be called 'champagne' but only real champagne comes from the Champagne region in France.
It's the same thing here, any UGGs made in Australia are the Champagne from France, UGGs made in China or elsewhere are the fakes passing themselves off as 'champagne'.
To make it easier: UGGs Deckers is cultural appropriation of an Australian icon by an American company.

Real Ugg boots are made in Australia. The Chinese Ugg boots making company is a US shoe giant called Deckers. The Chinese factory is simply just following their instruction in terms of material use and quality control. Don’t blame this on China or their workers. They are just doing their job. For some wired reason, deckers registered the Ugg Australia brand before the actual Aussie company even tho the Aussie company started making Ugg boot from 1974. The USA company deckers even sued the real Aussie company and won..??!!! The Ugg Aussie 1974 was ordered to pay deckers 3M dollars for using the name Ugg Australia. Can you believe that? And the Aussie government is not doing anything about it. The poor Aussie man lost everything fighting the case. They are about to go bankrupt. So much for the friendly relationship between the two governments. Small business means nothing to Scott Morrison literally. I support the real Ugg Australia. But don’t blame this on the Chinese factory. There is nothing they can do about it.

Thank you SO much! My mom has wanted UGGs for the winter & I’ve been shopping for her birthday literally ALL night. Reason: The quality of American UGGs is declining, so I had to shop online. Let me tell you, I had NO idea how many fake “Australian” UGG manufacturers there are online. I was prepared to purchase a few times, then read reviews and found, to my dismay, all 1-star reviews, as well as many reviews for the wrong company entirely because the names are almost all identical. I have been assuming that if it was called UGG, it was quality. Then there is the variation in quality and style between actual Australian made UGGs. Thank you so, so much for giving an example of an excellent brand. I can tell just from looking at your video, and from the photos on the website, that they are absolutely bursting with cozy wool, like the ones they used to sell in the US. It’s also obvious, to look at some of the other websites, that theirs aren’t! I finally was able to order the perfect gift 🎁, and was surprised to find a style & color I was thrilled about for myself, too. Can you imagine getting your mom something she has wanted for years, and it turns out to be fake? I would’ve been so mad, and I hear the fakes are nearly impossible to return. 🙄. Sorry for the book, just had to vent.
Edit: I am now obsessed with the idea of getting a pair of bright pink uggs (but I was sensible & got khaki).

"Ugg" (Deckers) has been running a huge legal and disinformation campaign since the 1990's. They actually never made a pair of boots themselves until they moved production to China. Ugg "Australia" as it's known in the US basically started as a company importing boots made by various Australian companies and slapping their own label on them. They basically tried to trademark "Ugg" and a few variations of the term worldwide and convince everyone that anything else was completely fake even though "ugg" is a generic term. So there was a lawsuit in Australia where Deckers ended up losing, so they decided to try and distance themselves from Australia ... after all they made their boots in China and Vietnam since the 2000s after they got celebrities to promote them. Popularity went up, they decided they wanted more profit. So yeah, the ones you buy from reputable stores in the US are "real" Uggs but not real Australian made ones.

It’s really sad because they took business from people that made ugg. The US company that ended up buying the ugh trademark is dekas or dakas, they in turn use China to manufacture. Look up the lawsuit a man in Aussie was sued for millions, by the US for making genuine uggs. It was never meant to be bought as a trademark but just a general shoe. It’s really sad. Look up Eddie and ugh lawsuit. He just lost the suit last week. They didn’t even have to tell him he was or that there was a problem. It’s truly heartbreaking and killed families livelihood that they had worked for Eddie over 23 years. 😢 it’s not meant to be a trademarked name ugg, for example champagne and Gorgonzola they were never trademarked. Ugg was a general term in Australia.

Does the sand colored “Burleigh Button” kind (with the brown buttons) have a more forgiving fit, in the calf, than the tall UGGs without buttons? Just curious because I bought a pair of straight leg suede khaki UGGs from their company and the part where my foot goes in is huge but the calf area fits perfectly. I was thinking maybe if I go a size down with the buttons next time, it would fit well.
That said, this company’s products are amazing. It reminds me of the imported ones we used to be able get in the US (which Decker took over and reduced the amount of wool). They’re more of a luxury boot than Original Ugg Boots Australia (more fluff, their Nappa leather varieties are water resistant or waterproof), and the stitching more elegant)...I will always order from the UGG since 1974 website!
Edit: Not to down Original Ugg Australia. They are a really good affordable option & (in my opinion) superior to any U.S. UGG brand. But for a high-fashion UGG, UGG Since 1974 is my favorite.

The staff was very helpful in advising me how to proceed. And if anyone is thinking about ordering and doesn’t know, you can customize everything on your boots. If you look at the catalog and see a listing for suede boots with leopard print on the heel but you really wanted Nappa leather, you just e-mail or call UGG Since 1974, and they will create a listing for you. I’m not affiliated with their company in any way, just very excited about my experience!

Deckers Uggs are ok, but do seem to be hit and miss at times. I'm not a fan of the extent that they tried to trademark "ugg" internationally and go after honest Australian businesses. They are definitely pricy, but the best part about the newer ones are the soles that are more slip-resistant and have better support. The Australian ones for as good as they are, fall a little behind there. The Australian Emu Stingers don't look too bad though.

For years now, authentic UGG products have been manufactured by Deckers Outdoor Corporation, which has factories in China, Vietnam, Cambodia, The Philippines, The Dominican Republic, and the U.S... therefore Decker dropped the name Australia from their product and now only uses UGG so not to confuse ppl that real shearling was only made in Australia... this is completely false info.

SAMMY’S WORLD It’s not false info at all. There are MUCH better UGG manufacturers than Decker. They are typically in Australia, where the style of boot originated.

I am confused because I have a pair of the one's that are "fake" yet it has a counterfeit dept. And it has a counterfeit hologram security tag in the boot and the serial number. I did buy from the ugg store. Everything checks out as authentic. Can you please explain. Because everywhere you look online they say they are authentic. On TH-cam people who bought those eve. Have tutorials on how to tellauthentic ones from counterfeit.

It’s funny because the ones made in Australia do indeed have Ugg Australia on the heel. The ones made in China just have Ugg. But…some YT channels say Ugg Australia are Chinese knockoffs and who knows some might be. The only way to know for sure is to buy them from Australia. Something I noticed: Ugg classic Tall boots are Aussie made. Ugg Classic Tall II are Chinese made.

i want to buy fun Australia but I am unsure about getting the right US shoe size (don't wanna play int'l return shipping if they don't fit) 🤷🏽‍♀️

    • @brittaolson6550
      @brittaolson6550 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

diamondsandlipgloss The boots reviewed on here are from the uggsince1974.com.au website. I am a US size 8 1/2. I was told by staff to order the 9, so I did. They felt like they were a Size 11 or 12 and, while far superior in quality, were visibly much bigger than my American UGGs. I needed to wear the boots and couldn’t afford the international return shipping. However, I did not give up. I ordered another pair several months later, but I went from the size chart (where are you measure the length of your foot). Ordered the other pair in a size 7, despite being advised again by staff to order the same size as my US shoes. They did, however, advise me to measure my calf and get a larger calf size because I have a wide calf so I ordered the size 7 extra tall boots with the size 8 leg. So you might want to do your calf measurement and size up one size for the leg if you measure as a “wide calf” by doing a custom order ($30 extra). If your calf measurement shows that you have a regular size calf then you can just order them right out of the catalog in the size corresponding to your foot length.
The trouble was absolutely worth it. They are beautiful, as plush as the imported ones we used to get in the US, and fit perfectly. I only regret not returning my initial order, since I don’t wear those much anymore.

UGG footwear are made all over the world. They have factories in China, Vietnam, Thailand, El Salvador, and even in the USA. Ugg Australia are a really cheap copy and cost far less. In Australia, the name "ugg" is a generic term for sheepskin boots, often worn locally as slippers. Uni - yeah OK LOL

Yup. Reading your comment, you clearly have no idea what you are talking about. Fiancé currently has Ugg’s, from the USA brand ugg. The registered trademark, that deckers owns. Right on those boots, clear as day says made in Vietnam. Purchased at the ugg store. That store, that decker owns btw, trademarked the word ugg, then tried to stop the legit Australian made uggs being shipped world wide. Sorry to say, your Ugg’s aren’t legit 😂

For years now, authentic UGG products have been manufactured by Deckers Outdoor Corporation, which has factories in China, Vietnam, Cambodia, The Philippines, The Dominican Republic, and the U.S. If the label says the shoes are made in New Zealand or Australia, that is flashing warning sign of a fake.
