    Wow I forgot about those old style pantographs on the Arrow II’s and before they had the ditch lights. The Amtrak “toasters” were practically new at that time

    Princeton junction as I remembered it did a lot of commuting from this area in the 80's

    I know that the freight trains was running late at night at that time on the northeast corridor. It was awesome seeing alot of passenger traffic. With the freight trains not seen, this way they couldn't interfere with the passenger traffic.

    What was Amtrak’s top speed on the NEC back then, they look like they’re going pretty slow

      125mph for metroliners
      110mph for everything else.

    Soo was this before the NJT comet cars came out or did they just use ARROW3s that day?

      The comet cars were newer around that time but were mostly found on the diesel hauled lines or on the North Jersey Coast line with the E60’s and would change engines to Diesel at South Amboy. Once the ALP44 engines arrived, more comet coaches were ordered.

    Its fucking hilarious that It was high level then they tore down the high level platforms and made it low level and then rebuilt it to be highlevel
