I would argue that Elemental is one of the deepest Pixar films, if not the most relatable. I bet every person in the audience could resonate with it in some way. Whether it be with the charecters, knowing the struggles of immigrant familes, having experienced racism, trouble communicating/conveying your feelings, or just the love and road bumps in a relationship. I have watched it too many times, it's just such a great movie!
Leo was a pretty heartwarming tale Adam Sandler as a class pet lizard was a bizzare concept but ultimately worked!! Summer was my favorite of the kids btw

Nimona felt like a breath of fresh air to me when I watched it for the first time because most movies nowadays are mostly just about superheroes or set in superhero themed worlds.
I'll be honest with you; I identify more with Nimona as the protagonist than any other film this year. Maybe not in the "LGBT" way but in how she feels when she is with other people, the loneliness that she hides: like when her childhood best friend or briefly Ballister betrays her (all the friends that I had left me for no reason😭) and her crazy personality reminds me a lot to the one I had during my childhood and adolescence. Spider-Verse may be my favorite movie, but in terms of protagonist (at least for me): the credit goes to Nimona. "METAL!!!!!!! ❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥"

1. Elemental - A beautiful love story with important themes, stunning animation, and lovable characters. 2. The Super Mario Bros. Nimona and Spiderverse are easily the best animated films of 2023 in my opinion. They both told amazing stories with great animation + art styles. The messages in both films are also great as well as the humor and action. The soundtracks and voice acting are also excellent They’re very on par with each other, but *in my opinion* Nimona is my personal favorite because of how much I relate to it and the conclusion feels more complete than Spiderverse (I get it, the Spiderverse films form a trilogy, but the first one at least had conclusion to the first part of the trilogy).

Ladybug and Cat Noir: The Movie is actually better than the show based on it itself 🐞🐾 Honestly, Once Upon A Studio is actually a much better tribute to Disney's 10 year anniversary than the actual movie that comes after that ⭐ And I'm glad you like Elemental too because Nostalgia Critic's opinion on it on his Disneycember review this year is actually a lot different from yours and mine here 🔥❤️💦
My favorite movie of 2023 is "Once Upon a Studio". Short but seeing hundreds of Disney characters all together was amazing and I enjoyed all the different types of animation combined. Not to mention I smiled so hard when Mickey Mouse spoke to Walt Disney.
Personal opinion, but based off it breaking records in the box office, and capturing many people's hearts and attention, I think The Super Mario Bros. Movie deserves higher than 9th.
Glad you included Wish, that movie was so over-hated, but where is Under The Boardwalk? I know that it's trailer came out 3 days before the movie and not a lot of people know about the movie, but in my opinion, it should be on this list.
I think it's a huge crime that they put that movie at #9 that movie is way better than the other movies they mentioned I would put it right behind Spider-verse the way the made The Super Mario Bros movie was pure genius and it felt like you were in the video game and the visuals were outstanding, I saw that movie 5 times in the theater and loved it I still watch it on DVD all the time. I hope that the movie wins some kinda award, but I doubt it tho because the Academy it full of dumb people who only care about wokeness things and don't care how much money it made that why we don't see any Marvel movies win anything except Black Panther, and the first Spider-verse movie only won 1 award and that's a huge crime, let's hope that The Super Mario Bros wins a few awards because it deserves to win.
I only watched 8 new releases this year, so here is my top favorites (not best): 1 - TMNT Mutant Mayhem 2 - Across the Spiderverse 3 - Nimona 4 - Leo 5 - The Boy and the Heron 6 - The Super Mario Bros movie 7 - Diary of a Wimpy Kid Christmas Cabin Fever 8 - Elemental
It should win, but it won't because the people at the Oscars don't care about superhero movies at all I know that Black Panther won some awards, Joker won a few, and Spider verse the first one won best animated movie of that year and I agree with you let's hope that Across the Spider- verse wins, but it won't because like I said the Academy don't care about superhero movies all they care about is wokeness and movies that aren't that good.
Gonna edit once I see Boy and the Heron, Migration and few others! But My Top 10 Favorite Animated Movies of the Year (so far) are 1-Spider-Man: Across the Spider-verse 2-Leo 3-The Super Mario Bros Movie 4-Wish (don't care what anyone says, this was wonderful) 5-TMNT: Mutant Mayhem 6-Elemental 7-Nimona 8-Diary of a Wimpy Kid Christmas: Cabin Fever 9-Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie 10-Ruby Gillman: Teenage Kraken
I so want to see the Boy and the Heron, and I hope it wins an Oscar for three reasons. 1. For being done by legendary Hayao Miyazaki. 2. For being 2D hand-drawn animated, an animation that is the true magic of creation and life, and deserves to come back. 3. It would be Hayao Miyazaki's second success, after his last award winning masterpiece Spirited Away.
I was PRAYING for Miraculous to get one of the top spots, but I guess honorable mention is okay. I have watched the show from the beginning, to see it go from the anime pilot episode, to the present one, and now this beautiful art they created with getting to more of the storyline makes me scream! It should have been in theaters for the US too! The plot having the somewhat same concept to the show, the songs (still wish Christina would have singed), and animation makes me cry! Got half of what we miraculous fans wanted for 8 years in a hour and a half movie! Can't wait for more!❤🖤
I learn that Spider-man is my favorite movie of the year but my favorite animated movie is Nimona. If that makes sense. Elemental is a close 3rd. Here my list (these are ones I saw): 1. Spider-Man: ATSV 2. Nimona 3. Elemental 4. Suzume 5. The Boy and the Heron 6. Super Mario movie 7. Wish
Let's say this year has been The DAWN Of Animation Movies, I have seen all them like Super Mario Bros. Movie, Disney's WISH, Across The Spider-Verse, and NIMONA!! 😄 All It's left is Chicken Run Dawn Of The Nugget.
I agree with you 100% Wish was garbage of a movie Mario should have been #2 right behind Spider-verse this list made no sense how can they even count Netflix movies those movies shouldn't be on the list because not everyone has or watches Netflix and the animated movies from Disney lately haven't been that good at all, plus Mario made almost $2 billion dollars and it's the highest animated movie of all time and they put Mario at #9 that's a huge problem.
@@maciejszypelt7623 I really think that their full of shit and really don't know what their talking about half the time when it comes to making these lists
Anyway, I love these Sequels, Specially wacthed: Leo nimona, Spiderman Atsv, I can't wait to watch zthe Incridible Chicken run2, Also, Spiderman across the spiderverse, hit to manny millions dollars positive❤❤❤
Finally, Watchmojo Videos put PAW Patrol in it. Fun fact: “Ruby Gillman Teenage Kraken” came out the same day as “Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny”.
Across the Spider-Verse, Mario, TMNT: Mutant Mayhem, and Elemental were my top animated films of the year. Haven’t seen Chicken Run 2, Leo, and Migration yet.
2023 wasn’t the best year for animation films considering the receptions were either good or bad but personally, it was one of my favorite years to date. Secondly, I really feel relieved that Wish was on the list considering I am not a fan of the amount of hate its getting online, sure it may not be on par with the most popular Disney films and I wholeheartedly agree that it has cons regarding the story but despite the flaws, I still loved it so much!!! 🥳😊 #MsMojo
this year of animated movies was good, but 2024 has just showed us a glimpse of its action and it is outstanding. 2024 movies will conquer 2023s movies by a lot.
This year the best movies that I loved a lot were: Spiderman across the Spiderverse, Ladybug and Catnoir: The movie and Paw Patrol:the mighty movie OH YEAH
My favorite animated movie this year has been TMNT: Mutant Mayhem! I expected to see a good Leo, Ralph, Mike and Don movie with them front and center. Instead I saw a great one! Super Mario and Ruby Gillman I have to consider low tier though.

How in the actual flip is Wish, TMNT and Elemental, above The Super Mario Bros Movie, what you smoking.
Critics just don't understand video game adaption films.
WOW, RUBY GILLMAN TEENAGE KRAKEN WAS A HONORABLE MENTION! 😎
2:33 I want to see this film so badly ❤ the animation looks like it’s a drawing, and I love that the music is great, too❤
I was PRAYING for Miraculous to get one of the top spots, but I guess honorable mention is okay. Can't wait for more!❤🖤
Across The Spiderverse was easily the best superhero movie of the year
It just made AFIs list of Best Ten Films of 2023!
I learn that Spider-man is my favorite movie of the year but my favorite animated movie is Nimona. If that makes sense. Elemental is a close 3rd.
Here my list (these are ones I saw):
1. Spider-Man: ATSV
2. Nimona
3. Elemental
4. Suzume
5. The Boy and the Heron
6. Super Mario movie
7. Wish
I'm hoping 2024 will be a year of recovery for the film and TV industry after what happened this summer
Would be nice and hopefully less mediocre movies
Glad to see Japanese anime movies like "Suzume" and "The Boy and Heron" represented as this year's best.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie is one of my favorite movies, along with Miraculous: Ladybug and Cat Noir, The Movie
The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Wish and Pretty Cure All Stars F
Mario at 9?!?! Behind Wish? Ranker needs some help.
Let's say this year has been The DAWN Of Animation Movies, I have seen all them like Super Mario Bros. Movie, Disney's WISH, Across The Spider-Verse, and NIMONA!! 😄 All It's left is Chicken Run Dawn Of The Nugget.
Wish over Mario is a crime
I agree with you 100% Wish was garbage of a movie Mario should have been #2 right behind Spider-verse this list made no sense how can they even count Netflix movies those movies shouldn't be on the list because not everyone has or watches Netflix and the animated movies from Disney lately haven't been that good at all, plus Mario made almost $2 billion dollars and it's the highest animated movie of all time and they put Mario at #9 that's a huge problem.
Watchmojo put it higher because it's a Disney Movie, that's why
@@maciejszypelt7623 I really think that their full of shit and really don't know what their talking about half the time when it comes to making these lists
@@maciejszypelt7623 Of course because they're biased and wanna pander and conform to popular opinion as much as possible. 🤷♀
I disagree
Ruby Gillman was my favorite movie this year.
Very underrated film.
I don’t know. I found it pretty meh but I did expect more
Anyway, I love these Sequels, Specially wacthed: Leo nimona, Spiderman Atsv, I can't wait to watch zthe Incridible Chicken run2, Also, Spiderman across the spiderverse, hit to manny millions dollars positive❤❤❤
0:54 I also love how in Leo they got Bill Burr to voice his Grumpy turtle best friend
Finally, Watchmojo Videos put PAW Patrol in it. Fun fact: “Ruby Gillman Teenage Kraken” came out the same day as “Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny”.
Elemental is funtastic ❤
Across the Spider-Verse, Mario, TMNT: Mutant Mayhem, and Elemental were my top animated films of the year. Haven’t seen Chicken Run 2, Leo, and Migration yet.
Super Mario bros movie was great 😊
Also loved into the spider verse
2023 wasn’t the best year for animation films considering the receptions were either good or bad but personally, it was one of my favorite years to date.
Secondly, I really feel relieved that Wish was on the list considering I am not a fan of the amount of hate its getting online, sure it may not be on par with the most popular Disney films and I wholeheartedly agree that it has cons regarding the story but despite the flaws, I still loved it so much!!! 🥳😊
#MsMojo
Unpopular opinion: this year for animation and movies in general was poorer than previous years. Wish production companies did more animation.
Been pretty hit or miss but I know what you mean
Good thing PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie was included as an honourable mention. MsMojo should make some Top 10 videos of PAW Patrol.
this year of animated movies was good, but 2024 has just showed us a glimpse of its action and it is outstanding. 2024 movies will conquer 2023s movies by a lot.
I found it strange that Puss in Boots hadn’t made it, then saw it was made in December of last year.
It took me nearly two weeks or so to watch it
10:06 Yay!
My favorite is The Super Mario Bros Movie.
My favorite movie of 2023 year is Wish 🌠
How is Mario so low? It should be at least 2.
No it should be number 1
Spider Man across the spider verse was the best movie of the year 👏🏿
It just made AFIs list of Best Ten Films of 2023! Like its predecessor, it's headed to the Oscars.
What the fuck is Wish doing here?
How is Wish higher than Leo and The Super Mario Bros
This year the best movies that I loved a lot were: Spiderman across the Spiderverse, Ladybug and Catnoir: The movie and Paw Patrol:the mighty movie OH YEAH
Can you do a top 10 list for Branch and Poppy moments?
Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse is the best film of this year.
It just made AFIs list of Best Ten Films of 2023! Like its predecessor, it's headed to the Oscars.
This is sadly highly unlikely,
But Across the Spider-Verse could really use a Best Picture nomination
Truth be told, I knew what the number 1 spot was going to be before clicking on the video. But I am not complaining, heck I am actually enthusiastic!
My favorite animated movie this year has been TMNT: Mutant Mayhem! I expected to see a good Leo, Ralph, Mike and Don movie with them front and center. Instead I saw a great one! Super Mario and Ruby Gillman I have to consider low tier though.
Great animated movies!
Wish doesn't even deserve an honorable mention.
Omg😭
Spider-Man across the spider verse was my favorite and it made it into the number one spot in your guys list🎉
It just made AFIs list of Best Ten Films of 2023! Like its predecessor, it's headed to the Oscars.
I thought Wish was suppose to be bad.
It’s not. It might not be a great movie, but it’s still good.
and what wrong with it
@@westerfrost3701That we can agree on. I was afraid it would be mediocre but came out relieved of what I saw.
I literally just came here to check if ATSV is #1. It is, I can sleep now. Go Spider-Verse 😊
