    Thuy knows she is not a doctor, hence the tiny incisions. She does not remove the sac. She has told previous clients that they may come back. So calm down. This is the service they are asking for.

    Regarding sac removal - Steatocystoma is a genetic condition so whether the sac is left in or not they WILL come back. Its any on going life long battle. By draining them like this it releases the pressure and makes them less painful. Sorry married to a dermatologist so full of useless information.

      @@tmo8639 the wording was a little poor but I think she means that getting the sacs out does not clear the general condition up the way it does in typical facial/back acne etc.
      it's true that a lot of people constantly flip out about the sac thing meaning "that same exact zit/cyst will come back in the same exact spot no matter what if you leave the sac in," but that's not even a hard and fast rule with whiteheads/blackheads as those sacs can also sometimes break down on their own... it really only applies as a totally _sure_ thing with stuff like epidermoid cysts and other types of cysts where you're like... leaving a _chonk_ in there. when the sac is like... ~meaty~

  • @LynnSJB
    @LynnSJB 4 ปีที่แล้ว +280

    I really wish they’d find a good treatment/cure for steatocystoma. It is an inherited skin condition and the people complaining she’s not “getting the sac out” need to do a bit of research. With this disorder, the cysts are not filled with old skin cells, they are filled with sebum, which is why they are located more underneath the skin, because the cysts begin in the sebaceous gland. They are pretty painful, too. There have been medications that can temporarily shrink the cysts, but hopefully we’ll do better in the years to come.

    • @Caprifoolaceae
      @Caprifoolaceae 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Agree with everything, except the "pretty painful" part, because they really aren't. You can have them for years and only bother you because they're this weird bumps on parts of the body that shouldn't have bumps.

      @Debra Tramsak Thuy hasn’t worked with a lot of steatacystomas. They’re usually in layers at angles, vertically, horizontally, and overlapping. If there’s still a bump, it’s a 2nd or 3rd one. Then need to angle blade, rinse repeat. The main reason to pop them is pain relief. Dr Lee said even if you remove the sac, it can still come back and vice versa. They’re fun to watch. • @charlottet5460
      @charlottet5460 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lauragregorius6578 actually, from what i've seen in the comments, attempting to remove the sac doesnt guarantee that the cyst and things won't come back, and the sac being emptied actually would feel very relieving
      the reply to your comment said smth about numbing, im not sure if she did that, but even so it wouldn't hurt as badly as removing the sac without numbing
      removing the sac completely (or attempting to at least) doesn't fully guarantee that the cyst won't return (plus the client has a disease or something so any way these would keep popping up)
      anyway, removing the sac would cause massive scarring as well (along with the fact that the cysts could return), so this is actually a lot more helpful and less painful on the body and the client
      also, this is all just what i've learned from the comments and what i've learned from watching all these videos, so by all means my word is not certified truth, so yeah

    I have to admit I like the way they remove Steatocystomas over the trauma Dr. Lee leaves. Do we know for a fact they come back? Even if they do, I'd rather have this little nick in the skin. Also, does it seem like there are a lot of them in Asia? They seem to be considered regular acne.

      I agree with you. We all know really the sac should be removed but watching Dr Lees sac removal, especially on the patient's skin which is visible, eg upper chest, face, forehead, the resulting trauma and scar she leaves, in my opinion removing the sac isn't worth it. I'd rather have a clean nick in the skin every year or so (if it takes that long to fill up?) than have a scar 5x larger than the simple nick this lady does.
