*Welcome to My Crusader Kings 3 - Fate of Iberia Campaign! Starting as Guifré the Hairy of the House of Barcelona. His Father killed 20 years ago and his families lands and titles taken away, at last Guifré has the chance to seek vengeance and reclaim his Dynasty's lost lands! From humble beginnings the House of Barcelona will rise from Count to Duke, King and perhaps even Emperor of all Hispania... Tune in to the series LIVE Here:* www.twitch.tv/lionheartx10 *& Will be Recorded, Edited and Uploaded Here on TH-cam Daily!*
I’m a recent CKIII convert and haven’t yet been brave enough to do any Fate of Iberia stuff. I’m so excited that you are doing this scenario. Really jazzed to watch you do so.
It's honestly not that bad. It can be a little annoying if you are trying to resolve it by conquering but forget about the phase not being in hostility, putting you into an eternal state of struggle, never being able to progress. I guess you could give land up and wait but eh.
ok, a few tips: -1 There is another way to get the empire of hispania, in the conciliation phase the decision Detente. -2 Hispania is a good region to build tall if you are in the center, south and north as there are many special buildings such as universities and fortresses, but given that you are in the east (I haven't played here before) I don't know if there are good ones there. -3 Careful when creating new cultures, as you might lose the involved status until you get it in at least 1 county. -4 You might want to get caballeros (innovation) as they are pretty good if you build some stuff in a holding to buff them. -5 You might also want to look into the castillian culture to start getting renown with castle keeper. In case you want to have legacy perks. -6 have good relations with aquatainne/france (maybe even both) so they don't attack you (or maybe even ally) and so you can get cheiston whatever (cultural upgraded martial admiration that unlocks pretty strong heavy cavalry mid-late game and makes it easy to get poets). -7 If you want to be extrictly aggressive, careful with being friendly to too many countries and/or cultures. it will mess with your tempo making it difficult to go into a hostility phase. and once you got out of the tempo is really difficult to get into it again (at least in my experience). -8 on the other hand if you go into the diplomatic route, playing chess is the key, mozarabism is good, and learn multiple languages to boost diplomacy. the pope might hate you tho. -9 Check out the 'malleable subjects' culture trait that iberians have. makes everything more relax with multiple cultures, and extra mercs with less cost. -10 and finally, in case you attack the andalusians: BEWARE OF MERCENARIES! malleable subjects cuts their cost in half and they have Cordoba which is one of the many money makers iberia has, so yes, they have a lot of money for the mercs.
Glad after both Rome and Iceland to India I'm finally able to watch a CK3 campaign as its posted; I always ended up a dozen behind. Excited for this one.
Hey Lionheart , I was there when the missclick happened lol, but no what I wanted to say was that, after you form Aragon like your striving to do right now, try to go for Valencia, it’s right next door and also your kingdom will look like the historic one did, also as a name for a boy Theodoric (he was one of the greatest Visigothic kings to rule Iberia before the Muslims came in) or Ardo (he was the last Visigothic king to rule Iberia from the same dynasty)
Wasn't there something in the one of the new renown trees that made it better to grant holdings to family members? In that case you might not want to grant holdings to random characters. I love CK3 and I'm really excited about this series. Cheers!
Since this is one of the rare opportunities where i get into a series youre doing recently. BUILD UP YOUR COUNTIES AND CITIES EARLY😂 its your number one best way to get boosts to your military and economy early.
Your reactions make it so much more exciting to watch! 😂😂 I e been watching your play through after trying ck2 and 3 multiple times and finally understand so much more making it so much more enjoyable!
Hey lion in my ongoing campaign I was able to win by domination as the castella dynasty. The best tip I have is not to unite the Spanish thrones until you ended the fate of Iberia. You will need to make sure that your primary kingdom title contains your culture in all counties in that kingdom. The bigger the kingdom the harder this is to achieve. For this reason it’s best to become king of Navarre as you will minimize the amount of counties you need to convert
Hey lionheart, for the Iberian dynastic legacies it actually the opposite in terms of usefulness. The first 3 section of metropolitan and coterie are where most of the benefits is. Reliable house stacks with learn on the job so if you have your son on the council and he has 30 martial then you get like +9 Martial instead of just +6 from someone else not of your house as your councilor. Flourishing cities and prestigious development are only good if you have the city keeper tradition of your culture and even if you do the expand cities decision it selects random cities to expand so you can’t control it. Pragmatic roots isn’t that good unless you have a lot of tyranny reduction items as you can rack up a ton of tyranny. Besides since you are in a location near the Mediterranean you can get many easy Kingdom titles to get the dynasty of many crowns decision, making renown easy to come by. A major decision you may be able to do is the secure the Mediterranean. It’s an easy decision where by conquering the duchies of Mallorca, Sardinia, Corsica, and Sicily you can make another kingdom title. It also gives a good buff for your House members. 15% development is nothing to scoff at. Another decision since the character is of Iberian heritage is the secure the Canaries decision. Another kingdom title you can grab. Thanks for all the content.
Loving the series! A pronunciation tip to make things a little easier if your interested, the 'g' in Urgellian would be pronounced like the 'J' in the French names Jean, or Jacques.
This is a fun character, you get a real sense of being a leader of the Catalan culture. Some things to watch out for: -Most annoying bit of ending the struggle is you whole kingdom needs to be your culture. Get to converting early otherwise you realize it too late to act on it in a timely manner. -When you create Aragon you automatically convert to Aragonese culture. However, if Barcelona is your capital you can just convert to local culture and insta flip back. IMO they should make it a choice if you are Catalan to stay Catalan and Kingdom would be called Catalonia instead. You can rename it and modify flag to make it more like Catalonia. -Barcelona has tons of slots and synergizes well with the cities focused legacies. -Struggle gives you unique opportunity to marry into Muslim families, might get an opportunity to pick up Sayiid which is normally much harder to get. Mozarabic Christianity has some decisions to make it viable to get Muslim marriages even outside of Iberia.
Oh I remember where I heard of Urgell before It’s the Bishop of Urgell that Co-Rules The Country of Andorra (Co Princes kinda thing, mostly ceremonial I think but yeah it’s interesting)
Hello LH! It's been a bit. I had to back up to the start of this Campaign. Haven't watched this game before. I keep hoping for a new Napoleonic era series--I'm stuck in that time, I guess. But I love the Iberian region, so here I am.😁 Looking forward to this! 🎵"Do you hear the drums, Fernando?"🎶
If you're trying to murder your liege the easiest way is to alter you contract, give your self guaranteed council rights for more levies then make yourself the spymaster. Once dead move to Stewart for that dollar
Bad to have too many holdings. Super easy way to deal with it - grant to someone old with no children. When you inherit it back, repeat till you improve your stewardship
Hey Lionheart, can I suggest that you utilize your Court members a bit more. You can marry the woman off for better Knights and counsel members. You can use the men to find high Intrigue characters, and others used for your court positions like Court Physicians. Great 1st video and can’t wait for the rest!
Glad you do a campaign on my own culture and nation, this man is considered the first of the independent catalan rulers, with him ends the French dominion in the region and start the catalan expansion, and the evolution of its own culture and language! I hope you form the crown of aragon at some time respecting the multicultural and federated way the crown was made of!
can i give you a piece of advice from my own experience . always make your capital most powerful military hub with a lot of levies for your army i suggest no market or economical building in capital except the castle upgrades which is very good . the reason for this is because when new ruler takes over some vassal will take some of your land and if your capital don't have enough levy for your army no matter how many men at arms you have they will have more levy because they will not fight alone mostley the other vassal will fight against you and they will outnumber you so keep capital a powerful military hub with a lots of levy from buildings which give levies instead of economical ones. and good job with new video 🤘
I can never finish a campaign on this game. I’m just terrible at it. Mostly because of confederate partition and regular partition and my inability to understand how titles work LOL.
In future, it's not safe to assume that you won't get the counties when going for a duchy. Click the little expand icon to see exactly what will happen. There are cases where you will get them. I forget exactly what they are but I think if the duchy holder holds the counties you will get them.
Me looking at how he named the heir with a Castilian name Fernando 😔 instead of a Catalan name just becauase today a portion of Catalonia is part of Spain. Its the same as naming him "François" or "Vladimir" ahahhaha. But good video :)

I had an heir like that once, he died from at illness at 16, and the throne went to my second son, a drunk...

Man this campaign has been much like a Lionheart campaign, which means lots of murdering, bloodshed and so on.
Metropolitan legacy tree is really good, "Republic Education" gives the Town Maven trait which is amazing for building tall.
" this isn't a son, this is a GOD" 😂😂 I burst out laughing at work when he said that ahaha
ok, a few tips:

Watching you play this is way more fun than playing it myself. :D

And the great conquest begins😈😈
Really enjoying the series so far. Thanks for the consistent quality content
867-875 is the first half of what would become the Barcelona Wars - a bit like a Dutch Revolt but in the Medieval Period
Back from deployment and I’m so happy to see this!! I always wanted to see you or heir play this!! Would you do a chieftain Sayn of Chuya campaign?
Maybe one day!
My expectations this series: Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition! Action: Lionheart burns the entire family on a wedding.

I'm born and raised in Barcelona and I love this series already!
Wasn't there something in the one of the new renown trees that made it better to grant holdings to family members? In that case you might not want to grant holdings to random characters.
I love CK3 and I'm really excited about this series. Cheers!
Finally!! Can't wait to see this out :)
Really enjoyed this first episode, looking forward to the rest of the series
I’ve been waiting for so long! Let us conquer!!

Finally someone that plays and reacts as I do. Insta sub, look forward to watching more!
Missed your CK3, welcome back!
This campaign will be perfectly balanced with no exploits
Loving the series! A pronunciation tip to make things a little easier if your interested, the 'g' in Urgellian would be pronounced like the 'J' in the French names Jean, or Jacques.
The lionheart raptor noises when the first son was born 😂

Just patiently waiting for the murder forest to show up
So happy for more ck3
Oh I remember where I heard of Urgell before
It’s the Bishop of Urgell that Co-Rules The Country of Andorra (Co Princes kinda thing, mostly ceremonial I think but yeah it’s interesting)
Great lets play. Im glad I found this
The name should had been Ferran, the Catalan translation of Fernando
Do the roar! Another banger video as always
1:50 the second pronunciation is better! ;D But LL sounds more like Y in catalan/spanish
I'm hyped 😁

Long live the future Emperor
And so begins the battle for the Jamón ibérico! Will a tragic bullfighting accident replace the murder forest for remove those pesky kids?
Please keep the intro it’s so fucking epic man
Oh hey look my home city is famous!
Hail to the Hairy!

Great 1st video and can’t wait for the rest!
Great series. One question are you planning to do a series on the Game of Thrones mod?
VERY SOON! :) This week infact!
If you move your capital out of Hispania, you don't have to wait for the Struggle
I hear the templar chants already...
How can I leave the HRE as Barcelona? It's almost imposible to mantein 3 duchies to become a kingdom and gain independence at the same time.
Hey Lionheart! HUGE update to banner lord just dropped, are you considering a new campaign anytime soon?!
Not considering a new campaign just yet but will definitely be checking it out in my current campaigns soon!
Any plans to do a new Crusader Kings 3 series in the future?
Yep will be starting a new one next week with the new DLC ;)
Glad you do a campaign on my own culture and nation, this man is considered the first of the independent catalan rulers, with him ends the French dominion in the region and start the catalan expansion, and the evolution of its own culture and language! I hope you form the crown of aragon at some time respecting the multicultural and federated way the crown was made of!
Have you thought about doing the Japan mod?
Sounds like my dating experiences. I spent a lot of time in Bars alone uh....
You need a Knight called Freddy - to sing the song.......
I got clapped left right and center when I tried Barcelona 😮💨
ah, seems they made it harder, starting with 200 pikemen instead of 300
might be a dumb question, but is this a new dlc/update or a mod?
It’s a DLC that’s been out for a year
Is this a new dlc? I play this on console so Im behind on things slightly
This is from the Fate of Iberia DLC that came out on PC last year.
@@lionheartx10 ah thanks, farther behind than I thought lol
can i give you a piece of advice from my own experience . always make your capital most powerful military hub with a lot of levies for your army i suggest no market or economical building in capital except the castle upgrades which is very good . the reason for this is because when new ruler takes over some vassal will take some of your land and if your capital don't have enough levy for your army no matter how many men at arms you have they will have more levy because they will not fight alone mostley the other vassal will fight against you and they will outnumber you so keep capital a powerful military hub with a lots of levy from buildings which give levies instead of economical ones. and good job with new video 🤘

Yeah I didn’t assume though I checked on the stream it was just edited out for this video ;)
@lionheartx10 ah cool. I thought you knew that but was making sure. Others might not. They make that little arrow rather obscure.
Also maybe put ur wife on stewardship in order to hold all 6 titles
She only has two stewardship so it wouldnt do anything to help
@@reeceweston4104 ah
Remember it's every 6 stewardship gives you one extra holding ability
Me looking at how he named the heir with a Castilian name Fernando 😔 instead of a Catalan name just becauase today a portion of Catalonia is part of Spain. Its the same as naming him "François" or "Vladimir" ahahhaha. But good video :)
We just took name suggestions from the live stream nothing more, think you’re reading too deeply into it here.
☝️ 'promo sm'
fun fact my last name is Roselló ;)....make me proud.
