There is also a Womens AFL competition, full of very competent, courageous and extremely fit young women who needs some kudos as well !!
That last one with guy kicking the ball was during covid. He was making fun of the public health officer who told the crowd to not touch the ball because they could get covid from it.
"A public health officer has sparked bewilderment and ridicule after advising footy fans to 'duck' if the ball comes near them in the crowd and avoid touching it because it could be contaminated by Covid-19."
'If the ball comes towards you, my advice is to duck and do not touch that ball.'
hahaha I see
Aussie Rules footy.. what a game it is. Part Marnbrook (an indigenous running ballgame, thats centuries old), part basketball, part wrestling, part boxing, part highjump, part handball, part ballet.. all played at breakneck speed, zero prisoners taken, with devestating skills and staggering fitness levels, on a massive oval shaped field with a ball that does not take kindly to bouncing.. that is regularly bounced.
R u American cause this sport is fun in my country / afl / Australia
Forgot Gaelic. Melbourne had a strong Irish influence during parts of the 19th century.
Developed in Western Victoria the same place where the first Australian cricket team came from, the first Australian cricket team who toured England, Australia hides alot of history
Pull ya head in it's directly a take on Gaelic Football with changes to attract others who weren't Irish.
@@darrenhunt9049 wrong
There are TV channels that broadcast games in the US. There is also an American league(USAFL) in the US.
Fox Sports 2 and Fox Soccer Plus both air live AFL games.
Happy AFL Arvo Ryan! 😁 I love AFL, it's a big part of my childhood and schooling and they certainly are epic athletes and entertaining! 😂 The Commentators are explayers! ⭐👍
AFL IS EVERYTHING 😩
Awesome, Happy AFL Arvo to you too!
@@ryanreaction There is also Cricket! 🤗🏏
Not James Brayshaw...he's an ex cricketer
@@kevkoala Ok, but, I'm sure I heard a lot of classic Dermott Brereton in most of the coverage! 😄
Hi Ryan, the men's AFL season is over but the women's season is still going. Maybe you could find a way ti watch it?
Life is great for most AFL players. You can be 18 and get paid close to half a million a year, treated like a movie star, date beautiful models and this can be your life for another decade or so. Buy property, get married,, make investments to set up the rest of your life even if you are not very clever and don't have any qualifications. But it goes to some of their heads and they get mixed up with drugs or crime or other stupud stuff.
Not anywhere near what most of the NFL players make! (I'm an Aussie, but follow NFL too)
and he jumped into the Lions fans...cheeky! He was getting rid of the ice by using a gas torch. The guy who got tripped in the pale blue shirt, is the ref. Get in the middle you big galoot.
Many AFL games are on Fox Sports over there. Often on FS2
"Footy balley" 😂😂😂😂
Finally someone appreciates our sport ❤
During Covid the spectators were not allowed to touch the ball and throw it back onto the field as they normally do.
I don’t think that they land over the fence on top of spectators on purpose. The players are totally zoned in on the game and the competitive aspect to it
That little bloke in blue was razor ray, umpire. I want to put every bad decision he's made on a DVD, put the DVD in a time capsule and in 1000 years have his family found and make them watch every crap decision he ever made.
in 100 years, they won't know what a DVD is.
The mighty Collingwood fc have just won the 2023 grand final. Up the mighty pies.
you should watch some highlights from the 2023 season
A kicked ball must pass through the two middle goal posts UNIMPEDED for 6 points… if it only passes inside either outer goalpost UNIMPEDED, it only scores 1 point… if the ball is touched by anyone before passing through the posts, or it hits any of the posts, it scores a single point… it’s a truly Australian game…
I think the Irish play a similar type of game, but they use a round (soccer type) ball…
YESSSS Love that you chose this to react to. We love our footy! Love the scraps and mistakes. Cheers! 💯
Soccer, hockey, rugby and American football - Trench warfare.
AFL - Guerrilla warfare
I love the AFL, best game ever!
AFL season just finished a few weeks ago it starts back up march 16th
In AFL play doesn't stop to change players when the coach wants to change some they'll send a runner on to fetch the player once that player is off the field another run on. So someone will be running with water for the players so you people who are not players and not umpires on the field for a lot of the game in own distinctive uniforms
NEED MORE OF THIS
Ryan, first you need a team, second a subscription and then you're sweet!
interesting to see one day and American AFL TEAM and an Australian AFL TEAM. playing a game of Aussie rules you know, that game without RULES. Man the yanks would get their ass kicked out so bad ha ha ha
They aren't called ref's they're umpires
they're maggots
The seats were empty during the Geelong (the Cats) games as they are rebuilding one of the stands.
More AFL Ryan!!!
Aussie Rules was started on the Gold fields in Victoria. With many different people from all over the world wanting to enjoy a game of ball, it was a hybrid of ideas that developed into a formal sport. Recently the indigenous have claimed it as there's. We can only take their word for it I guess. Ball sports are common throughout the world.
Watch the the highlights all the way back from the 60s if you haven't already 60s 70s 80s and 90s were crazy
Afternoon Ryan. keep up the vlogs. always entertaining to see. I do believe you are getting very attached to anything Australian. NICE TO SEE keep it up you have a nice day... Australia loves you.
The guys kissing on the ground used to both be team mates at Adelaide Crows
NRL worth a look number 2 football code in Australia.
WHAT would be nice if Aussie rules was to become popular in the USA. hence they form their own footy team. I would love to see the day when an American team playing against an Australian team. Wow. that would be a fantastic game of the century. or shall I say. A BLOOD BATH OF THE CENTURY... HA HA HA
At the beginning you asked what just happened? The guy kicked a 'behind', which means the ball went between one of the 2 outer posts and one of the 2 inner posts. If it went between the 2 middle posts, it would be a 'goal'. This game is played hard and without protective gear like gridiron footballers have. Players are often injured with broken bones, torn ligaments, hamstring muscle strains, calf muscle strains, adriceps muscle strains, groin muscle strains, osteitis pubis, sprained ankle, anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear and corked thigh. Muscle strains are the most common but ACL is probably the most serious (apart from finding out the serious ramifications of concussions). Some have died from brain injury often cause by 2 heads clashing together or an elbow and head etc. Concussion is a common injury in Australian rules football that can lead to impairments in balance, coordination, reaction time and decision making and these impairments can increase the risk of other injuries if an athlete returns to play before being fully recovered. We're proud of our valiant footballers but you might think they're crazy too, for not minimising their injuries. I'm sure you can find the Aussie Rules on the net and there are videos of all the grand finals, which are some of the best play because they're all trying to win the Premiership.
It’s off season now, afl back in March!
Papley launched himself into the crowd. He could have used the fence to stop. 😂
What happened was he needed to kick the ball through the posts, and it was only a 25m kick which is a short kick, and defender caught (touched) the ball before it traveled the required distance meaning instead of getting 6 points, they got a “mark” and free kick for the defense. I think he could have kicked it an extra 2 or 3 meters.
Watch USA Mason Cox for Collingwood AFL Prelim Final 2018 and Grand Final win 2013
Anyone know how to send through a video suggestion to Ryan? I found one I think he will enjoy
do you have Kayo over there. It has lots of sports [US plus] and Afl is on that.
What happened there is the player was like 150m from the goal, the siren sounded and he tried to kick a goal. It would have counted but no one can kick the ball 150m to it was a try in vain.
The refs wear bright colors yellows - probably because of Collingwoods uniforms that are black and white vertical stripes.
Ryan you need to find a team to follow
I think you need to find out who Mason Cox is.
Should come over next year and watch a game mate. Go for the West Coast Eagles mate actually im adopting you as a west eagle's fan😂👍🤙💙💛we were on the bottom last year but we've had a shocking run with injuries the last couple of years. Besides that where a very good side
Have you watched any rugby league yet. Have you watched any Rugby union yet. Have you watched any cricket yet
AFL!!!
GOODZ
This is tame compared to rugby league, Ryan....
Not really related, but Ryan, did you see this?? 😂
Now react to NRL
BEWARE 'RYAN WAS' maybe a SCAMMER: I have tried to message Ryan after being scammed that someone is using his identification. After 4 messages left and 2 emails, I find Ryan will not correspond with me and my messages in these comments have now been deleted. I have to assume that the scammer in fact maybe Ryan himself. Be cautious people!!
AFL. IS BASED ON THE IRISH GALIC FOOTBALL.
Yeah ..... nah.
Hey Ryan, just wondering why you haven't commented on the extent of the "NO" vote in the Referendum...
I've been watching alot of your video's, which are great by the way, but half of what you are listening to is poppycock (bull sh++) so my advice is only believe the bits you like and take the rest with a grain of salt, 🧂mainly the ones talking about different states, mental health, animals killing you 😅 the drivers etc etc 😂
You need to find some games from the 1970's and 80's, that was real Aussie rules football, not this aerial ping pong they play now.
If you had to support an AFL team who?
Somewhere in Mexico
@@DavidPola1961 ???
Anyone but Collingwood!!! 🤣
@@sarahanderson3897 pffffft- lol
@ryan watch nrl its even better , tackle football but no helmets and padding like usa
AFL is the best sport in the world that isn't Rugby Union. Parochialism at its worst. Enjoy at your peril. No one else in the world cares with any real conviction.
we call our football. Aussie Rules. the only thing is, there are no RULES WHEN PLAYING AUSSIE RULES.... HA HA
I don't know why you're asking me about airpinpog is for fairies ❤😂🎉😢😮😅😊
nrl is better
Why do you not watch NRL , AFL is only one major code in Australia
because they play rugby in the US; AFL is new to them
Because it's the only TRUE Australian game
Rugby is not the same as rugby league 😂
It is called AERIAL PING PONG and despised by many true Australians
True Australians being the 2 states where NRL is majority? (Despite an overall country lacking support for NRL)
@@nicp2039 Yep TRUE Australians ,, not Aerial ping pong lovers that wear yellow t-shirts and ugg boots in summer :)
NRL is better lol
NO!! Ryan NO!! AFL is the biggest con in world sport. Anyone who can kick a football can play this rubbish. It moves constantly which makes it look interesting to the uninitiated. Check out NRL. That’s the gun sport. I’ll get smashed here by afl fans but they don’t know any better.
This is AFL in Australia. The players have different colours to the umpires.
What was he doing with the torch?? Melting ice off the walkway.⛸
