"Feeling good is a good thing!" - it truly does say a lot about the place our cultures are in that this still needs to be spelled out for so many people!
Quitting drugs will Not let me repeat WILL NOT improve your life in any way. A better job will. A better relationship will. A better support system will.

We are all not Free, we never will be. Too late for me, 63 here, TORTURED into an invalid for Chronic Pain. NE OHIO HELL 🔥 I’m not permitted the pain meds to function & save my own life. The ultimate boot on my neck. They are slowly killing me. I’m furious 😤 and brokenhearted 💔
Right there with you brother. Two herniated discs and awful nerve pain, can’t access opioids unless I have surgery. Have you looked into Kratom or tianeptene? Kratom helps with the pain better well, but I use it mainly because of the psychological effects the pain relief is just an added bonus.
@@tabor503 I don’t need your prayers. But thank you. I’ve studied pharmacology and the psychology of drug addiction for years. Have even written a book on the topic that was recently accepted by a major publishing agency. There’s a reason I hold the opinion I hold. It was formed through years of obsessive and intensive research.
It’s way more complicated than that. Wealthy people suffer from addiction as much as poor. Addiction doesn’t discriminate. Drugs can take away of a persons passion for a sober activity. Makes them less productive and very negative. It’s happened to me. I’m a tax paying working man but could of been so much more if I didn’t try alcohol and cocaine. Not to mention how using shortens your life span
It's not the drugs that cause "addiction" it's the untreated trauma that is the gateway to obsessive chemical use. People are abused in the so-called "war on drugs"
That’s just not true. The rates of addiction across socioeconomic categories is well studied, it disproportionately affects lower income people even though drug use doesn’t drop. You are projecting your experience onto everyone else. “Since I couldn’t handle cocaine and alcohol everyone else will struggle too” This is exactly what he’s talking about when he says people will make critiques that aren’t familiar with the literature.

Meth and amphetamine are not the same. It's true that they both are in the amphetamine chemical class family. Meth is like metanol and amphetamine is etanol.
Microdosing has nothing to do with placebo, and there are definitely psychoactive effects! It's very difficult to describe but your entire perception can be tweaked in a very unique way that can make work easier, and daily tasks more engaging. This is the only thing so far I disagree with Dr Hart on.
Agreed. After being in aa and being around tons of addicts(including me) I pretty much disagree with him on everything besides his conclusion. Drugs being illegal potentially causes more harm than good.
@nicholasdauphinais da fuck are you talking about? You don't need a degree to recognize and comment on drug use and effects. Every single person whos gone to aa has interacted with more addicts that dr hart.

It does have alot to do with placebo. Question is just how much.
Love his research
Any specific paper(s)?
So does prostitution
We need him for president
Joes cool
That’s it.
Joe should not be used as a talking point especially as a an ego tripping blo hart at all
Amazing podcast. And I love the camera shots, they look really good.
Love Carl Hart, but the interviewer is insanely stupid. This was hard to watch.
Wym
This guy has some good ideas but he in my opinion is so out of touch with the reality of who uses drugs and the ultimate effects of using drugs .
Drugs are not bad at all people are not addicted they are trying to escape reality most times we live in a fucked up world I don’t blame them
You mean that you yourself are? He’s the one who has done the research with the drugs and the people using them. Have you?
