What I love about this is that Elton still uses musicians that have been with him for a long time. Guys that are older, and still able to perform well. Many of the older artists hire new, young people to back them up, but not Elton-he remains loyal. They still sound very good!

I've grown up, and better, because of Elton John. I'm the youngest of 5 children & while friends were listening to Bay City Rollers, thanks to the influence of my older siblings, I was rockin' out to EJ & Dolly & Bruce. Lucky me!! I took piano lessons when in elementary school. And when 10 years old, tired of the sheet music my piano teacher had assigned, I asked him to transcribe 'Crocodile Rock'. And he did, and I mastered it. I'm still proud of that. 3 times I'd bought a ticket to see him in concert and twice had to give my tickets away (once b/c of a death in the family and once b/c the sibling of a dear friend had died), and I remember being UBER hesitant to buy a ticket yet again. Suspicion a powerful thing...BUT, I did buy one, and no one that I cared about died that night and I saw him live in concert, once. And, I'll consider myself lucky.THANK YOU Sir Elton John. From your 1970 2nd self-titled album (released when I was 7 years old), to today (I just celebrated my 60th birthday), your and Bernie's music have, more than anyone (even Dolly Parton & Bruce, but it's close!), have provided the soundtrack to/of my life. And the Bally Captain Fantastic pinball machine that I have plays on. THANK YOU.

The ending made me emotional. watching Elton John walk down the Yellow Brick Road for the last time and fading away. It's like watching the end of an era and a part of my life saying goodbye. and it also makes me feel old and makes me reflect on my own life. I can remember being in my youth and hearing Bennie and the Jets for the first time. and thought it was such a cool and amazing song. and Elton was young and on top of the world, but now I am watching him retire, and other rock stars I grew up with passing away and have gone down their own yellow brick road. or highway to hell. or stairway to heaven. or maybe they just all checked into the Hotel California. I don't know, but they all added something to my life growing up. goodbye Elton. enjoy the next chapter of your life with your family.

His crew must be an outstanding bunch. And a family reunion to boot. Band members in suits and tie is also not your normal styling?! Well, it had to happen sometime. Sir Elton John has been making music for close to sixty years, and it’s now time for him to enjoy his retirement from the yellow brick road of musicianship, and spend some time with his family. And to close out his show with “Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me”:(which I heard in the summer of 1974 as a lad)? Priceless. Nobody will ever forget the Rocket Man. Trust me. UPDATE: The video cut off at the start of “The Bitch Is Back.” Whoops!
