Kingsley naming his ship the Mollymauk is such an unintentional power move because mollymawk is another name for albatross. According to sailor superstition, killing an albatross will get you super deadly cursed. Other pirates: PREPARE TO BE BOARDED Kingsley: You dare challenge the Mollymauk?! Other pirates: The...the what? Kingsley: The Mollymauk! Other pirates: Understood, have a nice day.
I didn't know that and it so many implications for campaign 2. Vess Doragna killed him and was cursed by the somnoven and then killed by him. The Tombtakers killed him and then they were all Immediately murdered.....
So my assumption is that premise for the 1/2 shot is that the serpent got loose and is causing mayhem for our Kingsley the cutthroat. Kingsley approaches the only people he knows who are strong enough to deal with such a threat.
Not sure about how accurate Ken is on the premise of the 2 part one-shot, but the lineup is indeed Kingsley+the rest of the nein(minus Cad naturally). So there's no "would be" about it, this week is going to be Kingsley meeting up with the group mid epilogue events to settle the uka'toa shenanigans.
Well considering that the one shot is only supposed to be a few months after the end of campaign but he doesn't steal the new ship until a few years after. So at this point Kingsley is probably still with Fjord and Jester unless they really changed the timeline.
Kingsley was such a delight for how briefly we had them, i'm so thrilled we're getting them back in the M9 special.~ plus his heist of the ship was brilliant. "I'll always be your servant, except i'm never giving the ship back" is just brilliant
The music choices for this were fan-fucking-tastic and I love you for it... Very, very cinematic, very, VERY well done. I'm crying over here! I LOVE IT!!
Well done! Adding the Pirates of the Caribbean twist actually compliments the kind of pirates Fjord and Kingsley would be. I can already see Fjord or Kingsley take a hapless ship, rob the crew and passengers all the while Jester hops along passing out stale cupcakes and T-shirts saying "I ♡ Artie!". That mix of the comedic and terror all in one!
This episode had come out roughly the same time Industry Baby by Lol Nas X did. For some reason, I always thought that the regal trumpets, cheeky cockiness, and badassery of the song fit Kingsley perfectly xD can just imagine him owning the high seas to that song
I mean, C3 is where I started, so I’m biased. That being said, the characters of C2 are just so intriguing, that I’m excited to watch the reunion. Granted, the inappropriate level of simping I do for these 8 people is telling as well. Which I think is a shared experience with other Critters
It all depends on where you started, VM for me is the best, C2 and C3s characters are great, it's just C1 is where I started and Scanlan and Grog will always be my favorite duo.
@@GrapeeparG True. I started with campaign two, then went back to see campaign one. Then I re-watched 2 and am now on 3. I love them all, but Molly will always be my favorite.
I miss the Mighty Nein... they were the crew I connected with the most. It was so emotional. Caleb will always be my favourite bestest boy and Jester will always be my ray of sunshine and joy. Caduceus my reminder that sometimes you need to chill out and stay calm to go forward in life. Beau the reminder to the opposite: sometimes you gotta be fast, punch some shit and get stuff done. Yasha my hope that trauma can be overcome. Nott the little crazy but caring and Fjord the one I didn't really connect with but still loved. Molly was my fav early on but he left to quickly. Man I miss that crew. It was so well... emotionally balanced? Like a bit of everything, hurt and troubled but more on the good side of things than not. I've had a hard time connecting to C3 and I have missed a lot of episodes at this point because of it. Might need to binge to get back in... but a part of me will always miss the Nein.
I can understand this entirely, I felt the same with the change from C1 to C2, I did grow to love the M9 almost as much as VM. However C3 is not easy to get into, it takes at least 30 eps, before the reveals start to tumble forward with amazing effect. However even then there are long periods of "WTF is going on now?" I have faith that Matt will make C3 awesome and link together with C1 and C2.
@@TPBurrow I guess I will give it a go. But as someone who had a bit of trouble getting into VM (although I got into the show at the tail end of C1 and my entry level interest could not be compared to the other people's hype), but instantly loved the M9 I'm wondering if I'll ever really get into C3. I was especially turned away by Fearne: She has all of the chaos that Jester had but none of her sunny and good and joyful even loving nature. To me watching Fearne was just cringe and like watching a trainwreck in progress and it really made it hard for me to watch. All the other characters at least got my instant surface level interest but Fearne was enough to stop me from even attempting to watch... I guess i just need to overcome my dislike of her character... but still, the M9 were like home, C3 had not yet had a chance to evoke that feeling in me
@@cassandramuller7337 Matt is a clever GM, he says "I want this to be a stand-alone plot" but then its all on Exandria and he drops some major plot twist cross campaign stuff in C3. For those reveals alone its worthy of watching. I can understand, Fearne is finding her feet, or hooves. She is pure chaos, unlike Jesters cotton candy chaos, its not the same at all.
Well it has been more or less confirmed that the somnovm as a whole were being influenced by the Chained Oblivion but went a bit too insane to necessary follow what they wanted when they got collectively fried in the Astral Sea. So Lucien did get affected indirectly by the Chained Oblivion. Even more lively though... (spoilers for Nine Eyes of Lucien) He is heavily implied in the book to be a Ruidus born and kind of had to deal with some of the stuff Imogen does, or at least is why he constantly seems to catch the attention of people seeking power.
Wow, I didn't know this. Now the presence of Angel of Irons cult makes much more meaning. And that BBEG is tied to god makes me wonder what another follower or god himself it's gonna be in campaign 3.
This fits very neatly into my theory that the overarching theme of C3 is Identity. Molly/Lucien/Kingsley were all one fleshbag but Kingsley was the only one with true control over their identity. Molly was amnesiac so their identity was thrust upon the, while Lucien was resurrected as an avatar of sorts. Makes me wonder what the overarching theme of C1 and C2 would be. From what little I know of both, my theory would be: C1 - Destiny (Keyleth as the future Tempest, Percy as the lord of Whitestone) C2 - History (Yasha as the Orphanmaker, Caleb and his trauma and abuse) C3 - Identity (Imogen as Ruidusborn, Chetney as a werewolf)
They were forced to leave the Mistake on Darktow by the Plank King, and the Balleater was sunk by a Dragon Turtle off the coast of Rumblecusp. Fjord's current ship is the Nien Heroez, the Mollymauk is a pirate ship they captured and renamed.

I’ll say it again - C2 was the best and it’s not even close. C3 has room to grow but - C2 characters just fucking slap.
