    Thanks for posting.
    I bought a pair of these about a year ago and I agree with your assessment.
    Although I appreciate you taking the time to measure performance and I would not consider them monitor caliber either, but I think they're more accurate than you're giving them credit for.
    I've never owned a set of folded ribbon/amt speakers before.
    I appreciate the detail they seem to add to the sound.
    Overall you have posted an excellent and accurate review.

    Can you review Emotiva's new B2+ speaker?

    'I've owned a pair of 25 yr old BIC tower speakers and based on you tube reviews, I bought these thinking if they don't sound any better than the old BIC's, I would just return them. When I hooked them up and did an A-B comparison, it blew my mind! I realize there are a lot of expensive speakers that sound much better, but for the size and money, they blew my old speakers right out the door. I heard songs I am familiar with in way I've never heard before, whether CD or Amazon streaming, the sound is really impressive.

      @@ahambhramasmii I can’t say for sure having not heard either the 3030i or the Dali. For the $ the B1+ really is an excellent speaker though.

    Excellent review, listening impressions backed up with a good set of measurements. Agreed on the bass response. I have to put them pretty close to a wall to get a sufficient amount of it. 16:20 what does it mean, realistically, that the impedance of 4.3 Ohm at its lowest in the midbass region? How should it be taken into consideration? Is that actually something you can hear on a budget AVR?

    • @OHMAudioChannel
      @OHMAudioChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Depending on the amp/receiver the added current draw from the lower impedance in the bass region has to potential of making the bass seem soft or less controlled or worst case, cause the amp to go into protection mode. It’s not often this happens at normal listening volumes but can when playing at more spirited levels.

    Fantastic review. I have a full Emotiva 5.1 using the T0+, c1+, E2+, and se12 sub. I have very very little to complain about. Mainy just vertical response, if I had to pick 1. I came from the Elac debut 2.0 b5.2 and c5.2. They were better with depth and height. I may just get a 7.1 receiver and add 2 Emotiva A1's to fill that height void I have.

    Hi, are those speakers good for nearfield listening (on a computer desk)? I'm trying to decide between the Polk ES15, JBL 305p mkii and the B1+.

    • @OHMAudioChannel
      @OHMAudioChannel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have used them for that application before. They did well in that regard. I would highly recommend looking at the Kali Audio LP-6 v2 as well. Ruler flat from 50hz to 20kHz and being self powers you don’t need a receiver.

    Thanks for this. Say, i have an old pair of Bose 201 Series IIs. Forgive the dumb question, but am i likely to notice an improvement if I replace these with the B1+?

    • @OHMAudioChannel
      @OHMAudioChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The 201s are in interesting speaker in that they rely on reflected sound to give a bigger sound stage. I can’t say if the Emotiva’s would be better but certainly would be very different in their presentation compared to the Bose.

    Would you run a front Klipsh Rp-150m or Emotiva? I have the Klipsh I running for a 30 day period, but had interest on these. Just on store to pick them up from to avoid the cost of return shipping if I don't like them. Using a Onkyo Htr360 avr.

    • @OHMAudioChannel
      @OHMAudioChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I haven’t had an opportunity to hear the RP-150M, but I am currently evaluating the R-41M. I think the Klipsch will sound bigger and more energetic, but the tonal balance may not be right for some. Unfortunately I can’t say either way what you’re going to like more.

    Would the sound signature of these speaker be ''bright''? Doesn't the high end of this speaker get to be harsh and fatiguing in well-synthesized synthwave music or music with a lot of violin?

    • @OHMAudioChannel
      @OHMAudioChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      They do have a slightly tipped up upper frequency but in my multiple listening sessions I never felt they were the least bit fatiguing nor would I consider them to be “bright”. It’s like just the right amount of heat in a spicy dish. You know it’s spicy, but not so much you don’t want to finish the dish.

    • @marcosr2
      @marcosr2 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@OHMAudioChannel
      Thanks for the answer, now I understand better
      Can these tipped up frequencies be smoothed with EQ? You said that the sound signature of these speakers is not bright, as you would describe it? neutral or warm?
      I'm thinking about buying this speaker to use with a neutral sounding dac and also with a neutral amp, I'm just afraid to invest and in the end this setup sounds too ''bright'' or ''thin'', I don't want a very harsh sound because I've suffered from it for a while but I also don't want to lose details with too muffled sound.
      Which dac and amp do you use these speakers with? if you can give me your opinion, that would be nice.

    • @OHMAudioChannel
      @OHMAudioChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@marcosr2 I would say these fit the bill of what you want. They are dancing on the edge of being bright with the slightly elevated top end, but not nearing klipsch levels of boosted top end. You don’t give up in detail with these for the better tamed treble, which I would attribute to the folded ribbon tweeter.

    Is Emotiva better than wharfedale denton 85th ?

    • @OHMAudioChannel
      @OHMAudioChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a VERY different price point of a speaker to compare. That's like trying to compare a Corolla to a BMW 3 series. Both are very good in their price categories but aren't really going to be cross shopped.
