I always turn up the volume at the end of Rosanna to hear those last sweet bits of guitar.
Luke is an inspiration and is a rare combination of being a badass guitar player and who also happens to be a truly nice guy. His playing is still the gold standard. Learning Lukather solos and parts is some of the best education for all guitar players.
Can someone interview Luke every day please?
Luke is a freaking legend. When I see the Starlicks video, what I see is a legend, who plays like he’s just breathing air. And he was about 27 when he made that video. Truly someone who was born to play, create and entertain. But Luke doesn’t see himself the way we do, no matter how many times you try to tell him.
Dude I so identify with everything Steve said in this video. Just like the time I talked to him at a concert. He isn’t bullshiting you about anything. That was just gods honest truth right there.

I love the star licks video. It was wonderful. Times change people and Steve has changed. I'm not doing the same thing now that I was in 1980's. I wish some of the past could come back though. This is just a plain ass great great interview even though I can't even hear the questions! I still would love it if someone could get Steve L and Jay G. together for a interview. That would be just epic.

In my opinion the best guitarist of all time. Toto music is outstanding, they haven't made a bad track. When a band comprises of the best on their chosen instrument they are bound to be good.
Steve Lukather has every aspect, melodic and fast, not overplayed at all. To transfer a lead break from your brain to your fingers and always get back is a gift. He is also a fantastic singer/songwriter, and arranger. Is there anyone better, check out his back catalogue and make your own decision.
