- how to replace brother labels on existing spool. a tutorial video changing out empty labels with a new roll. The brother printer is great, and this is a great way to save on labels, just change them out.

The folks struggling to get the spool apart due to the glue, I found that pouring acetone (nail varnish remover) around the join, then wiggling it a bit, worked a treat. Was able to get the end off quite easily once the glue bond was broken.

I was really confused about watching a couple of you cut the roll off or use water to get the roll off. I did not need to do this. I skipped that step, and just applied some pressure and took the end off with my hands, and then changed the roll once I noticed that's all you did to disassemble it once the roll was off.
I'd suggest everyone skip the useless steps and just take the end off and change the roll. 💃

My brother QL-570 doesn't have the hole on the end piece like yours does. Am I able to remove it if it doesn't have that?
The spool was insanely hard to get apart - I wanted to throw the piece against the wall. I eventually got the spool apart after a few hand injuries. Bad product design. Thanks for your video!

I can't get the thinner mailing label housing apart is it glued
You should point out that the original spool "IS Glued" together. Making it MUCH harder to break the parts apart. One needs to grasp both ends carefully and firmly "before" you attempt to break them apart. Once this part is done, it can be repeated many times, for new rolls. Of course, the Original Roll is "stuck together", to make you believe that you must buy their product. But, don't worry, you will be just fine, with a little care.
its tough, but if you put your thumb at the top of the right hand side piece that looks like an "exclamation mark" (near the green bit on mine, and two fingers inside the support and lever it upwards it pops out

Hello, I would really appreciate any help.. I have many many rolls which are white on both sides, with QL-700 worked good but brother ql-820NWB showing on display: "paper in the roll cannot be fed, set the roll correctly" ... any help please ??
I have used original "holder" for the roll but my rolls have no marks on the outside :-(((
Do you have to use labels specific to these machines or can you use aftermarket?
I purchased off Amazon, they were sold by a 3rd party. Not brother labels.

that side is glued though.. was anyone able to get it off without breaking? This is the most scummy greedy practice fueled by corporate greed. No care for environmental waste whatsoever if i knew about this I would never have purchased this product

I was able to replace the spool. But I couldn't print anymore labels. It wouldn't feed through or nothing
Same thing here. Does the paper/labels have to be Brother brand?
@@doyleclark3685 Make sure the arrow is pointed forward. You cannot use the new foot. The foot with the OEM is the only one the label printer will sense. If you try using the replacement foot, it will never work. If you have the ability to drill the same hole pattern that is in the OEM then it may work. Everything has to align just so.
Do you knw if they sell rolls with the attachment? Because my piece isn't coming loose. If truly apply pressure, it's going to break, then the wife will be screaming about how much her printer costs.
Pull as hard as you can! It won't break! What worked for me was trying to actually break it and I pulled it with two towels to give me extra grip. I removed two of these m*fs and they were glued or fused to the other piece but with one hard pull they came off!!! So satisfying! :D

Skip to 1:10 for the solution. You do NOT have to do anything else. Trying to remove the old roll with a box cutter or water is a complete waste of time.

Yeah that piece does not come off I think brother fixed that
They jammed it real good… so far I’ve put something like a stick or marker in the hole of the roll and used a mallet to push that end off .. it’s loose but I’m still trying
POTENTIAL BUYERS BEWARE...!!!! GREAT printer to bad Brother is trying to screw the end user by forcing them to buy proprietary refills. Loyal Brother customer for many years but would NOT recommend this product to anyone nor would I have purchased it had I realized Brother is trying to force you to buy their refills..!!!!!!
