Great interview and great interviewer. Joe lets him talk without interrupting or trying to impress everyone with his own knowledge, which I'm sure is vast. That's how it's done.
Wow... I've always loved and admired Steve's playing, but he just became a legend for me because of who he is as a person. What a truly humble and cool cat! Well played, sir, well played. Respect.
Another gem (parts 1 and 2). It seems so ironic to hear a legendary musician continually imply "I'm not worthy" to be in the same room as other legends. It says a lot about the individual. Sharing these interviews is beyond priceless. Their contributions are beyond measurable. I'll continue to thank you Joe for your efforts.
Hugely underrated. I think a lot of people don't recognize how talented they are; they hear great pop hits but don't take the time to analyze what the band does musically. Jeff was amazing, Rosanna a great example of people not realizing the talent; every drummer needs to try to do Jeff's drum work on that song...THEN they "get it." Great-great band.
Steve, I certainly see you as a legend too. I was at the Amphitheater for Jeff's tribute concert... best concert of my life...and I'm not dead yet. Thank you for these stories, and for all your music. Big fan!
I'm a 54 yo male that loves all kinds of great music. I also love women, been married for 26 years, and am as straight as they come, but I'm not afraid to admit I've had a "man crush" on Luke for years and years. Nothing but total respect and admiration for Luke!!!! God bless you man!!!!

I just watched part one and cant wait to watch this one he's amazing to listen to but as I see the montage that opens and the faces of history scroll by my joy is tamped by who I dont see. I'm a guy who grew up in Cleveland in the 1970's steeped in the greatness of this music, my music, thus I have to interject this point: Todd Rundgren and Warren Zevon are absolute masters of the genre and their exclusion from the hall is insulting to me as witness to their brilliance as artists, musicians, wizards and true stars. Beyond that, I aint naming names but as a guy, right there, in the midst of the era their omission in contrast to the inclusion of others who were not in the thick of it is a blight on every single member of that hall. Is it a legit Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum or a shill for tickets and merchandise? I urge you to take stock and reassess your purpose for creating that epic shrine and to step to the heart of your charter. Not convinced, spin some records these dudes made or masterfully produced on behalf of other artists and give them their righteous due. Thank you, on to part two.
It cannot be empathized enough that Thriller is the biggest record ever made. I mean, this is big time stuff that Luke is talking about. And even though I am a rock dude and have little interest in pop music, I will listen any day to Thriller over Britney Spears and the boy band groups. So much care and detail was taken into making Thriller, and at least some of the songs had rocking guitars and live drummers.
Of course I've known of Steve was since I was a kid in the '70s, but I've never been someone to delve into the background of the musicians that I've loved until recently. Now but I'm older I look at these people and wonder how long they're going to be with us and it makes me so sad. We have lost so many talented artist too early, and those that survived are getting older. ❤❤❤ just like me 😊
Definitely, Luke is the real deal, so sweet and humble being who he is, hell man, one of the most important characters in contemporary music and truly a guitar legend, they don't make 'em like Luke anymore!
