- Dr Yoshna Kooverjee is a medical doctor working as a senior lecturer at Nelson Mandela University School of Medicine. She completed her MBBCh at University of the Witwatersrand in 1999 and returned to the Eastern Cape for internship and community service. During community service Yoshna completed the Diploma in Mental Health (CMSA) in 2001. She worked in both the public sector and in private practice. Yoshna completed the Postgraduate Diploma in General Practice (FPD) followed by MPhil in Applied Ethics (Bioethics) (Stellenbosch) in 2018. Her clinical interests include Addiction medicine and she completed the PGDip in Addiction Care (Stellenbosch) in 2021.
Yoshna currently lectures 1st and 2nd year medical students in Theory and Practice of Medicine. She also enjoys sharing her knowledge of ethics with health professionals at CPD events, where she strives to bring bioethics to life!
