    So I've just discovered that Turkish March is actually part of this sonata. I have always listened to Turkish March as a solo piece and never knew it was part of a sonata. I'm quite surprised by that.

    I am 72 years old. At one time or other I have studied and performed all of the Sonatas, Fantasias and Variations for piano by Mozart. I studied with the best, and have heard just about every pianist of note too, but I have ever heard -- or even been able to imagine -- this particular sonata played so sensitively, so meticulously and so lovngly with perfect control of every minute detail, and with such sweet understanding.
    Ohlssen? Schiff? Perahia? Someone of THAT high a caliber no doubt.

    beautifully played, and the opening needs no comment at all because it speaks perfectly for itself, sublime in simplicity, authenticity, a gentle lyricism come enchantment of such profundity that very few can match; then, as is his wont, Mozart leaves that plane to excel on another, to raise the game, to step out in a fantastic flourish of dynamic tempo, something close to fast march that becomes free dance.

    "sublime in simplicity, authenticity, a gentle lyricism come enchantment of such profundity that very few can match"
    ...yeah that's a nice description for my favourite music for CS go :D
    It's the pure beauty of camping with the op AWP and listening to Mozarts Piano Sonata No. 11. But what if I can not find any spot on the map to camp? Maybe Beethovens Moonlight sonata. It tells me even if I can't find any place in this endless world and always run in circles I can get a kill. But what if I loose? While rage quiting I hear the ride of the Valkyries of Wagner. And for real time strategy I prefer Marche Slave of Tschaikovsky. But I hate if it favours my opponent. So in this case again Wagner.
    IS THAT BEAUTY!!!!! Yes it is TADADADA!!!
    This ladies and gentlemen is culture! :P

    No, if anything the pitch would closer to Ab if the instrument were tuned as it would have been in Mozart's time.
    I'm not blest with "perfect pitch," so all that matters to me are the delicate nuances and refined articulation. Extraordinarily good so far in this first movement.
    I don't believe this a true "fortepiano." if so it has an uncommonly robust and melodious sound. The playing is WONDERFUL.

    I can´t see the other comment, but whatever it was, I know, Mozart and Beethoven are the best, even while Mozart composed more pieces Beethoven is still remembered, and is as good as the other, so, you can´t have preferences, because the two are simply the best, like John and Paul

  • @randyclar747
    @randyclar747 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    My grammar wasn't exactly correct. I meant Mozart's music usually reflects happiness and energy. Chopin reflects a dreamy mood in most of his music. Beethoven is something you want to listen to when a funeral comes around. Does anyone in here agree?

    • @Wallendorf2005
      @Wallendorf2005 10 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      I share your opinion regarding Mozart and Chopin. However, while Beethoven’s compositions are dramatic, they are neither burdened by dark motifs nor apparently deficient in musical harmony, which is something commonly encountered in the works of other Romantic composers (see Wagner and later, Mahler). I would listen to Beethoven’s symphonies whenever I work. Funerals call for Mozart’s _Requiem_.

      Pause for a moment. Reflect on Moonlight Sonata first movement. Also: Pathetique first and second movement. These are pieces of dark moods by Beethoven. I have sat down and listened to about 80 percent of Beethoven's shit. He is not expressing happiness most of the time. I have heard and played much more than Beethoven's 5th in my life. Beethoven was not a happy man. He had relationship problems with women and expressed that in his music.

      Hired the cheapest piano tuner. His tuning fork was a piece of junk.

      It's actually A major; I think I also like this kind of "High-Tuned" style.

      Caeden Pope in Mozart's time, the music was in other tuning

      Lord_Beethoven older recordings tend to sound warped. If not that, fortepianos had a different tuning.

      the tuning does sound different. it really jumped out at me during the alla turca part. :s

      This is clearly not a fortepiano. It sounds like a modern piano to me.

    • @Mi-yc3oy
      @Mi-yc3oy 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      whatever it is, there's clearly something up with the piano. i would say it's too distinct for t to just be a sound quality issue, but we'll probably never know for sure.
