    Good to see you flying your T210 again. I owned a 1984 model similar to yours for 10 years. I sold it when the kids took up more and more of my time. I loved that plane. Flying it was a pleasure like no other. Good luck with the new engine.

    I've been enjoying your story of your asploded engine and the road back. The beach land guys were good too. The little walk away with the skydive rig and extinguishers on your legs was gold. I wonder if your engine bomb was on the exact day as Trevor's shenanigans. I guess the only thing that keeps bugging me is the charging cord on your sectional map. It's prbly nothing, but maybe one day it won't be, especially on landing with slower speeds meaning larger inputs.

    Heya Edward. Watched a few of your videos earlier today and subscribed. Good stuff!
    My dream mission is to fly at least twice a week ... every week ... for Angel Flight type missions and/or flying dogs (and cats) for "those" areas to locations where they can get adopted into forever homes.
    I say that to ask this (since you're familiar with several airplanes that would work for my dream mission): Although I would prefer a plane with the double-opening rear door, like the Cherokee 6/Lance/Bonanza/Saratoga/etc., so the human passenger(s) could have an easy ingress/egress, and loading and unloading the furry quadrupeds would be easier ... I think that the C-210 Centurion could also be a viable mission bird, even without the rear doors convenience.
    As with all pilots, I want something that would be $$$ "reasonable" over the net 3 to 5 years (hopefully more, but I'm old, they say) that has a good-great payload and goes as fast as the dollars allow to haul the payload.
    The "$$$ reasonable" means in the general price range of an excellent condition C-210, etc. with good glass. AND ... I would gladly trade some speed and a bit of payload for SAFTEY (e.g., lowest workload management, especially in IFR flight ... as would be with a Garmin 1000 nxi, for example).
    What is your take on this , sir?
    BTW-- I got my Commercial and Multi rating approximately 50 years ago and have lots of rust on my shoulders. Thanks, Chuck
    PS: Yeah, ya can't go wrong with BBQ. 😁

    Same as previous commenter, just found your videos and had to see through many until this latest. I'm pilot myself, but had a year long break flying. Got back to air yesterday and go a boost to see some flying videos. You keep on doing these, I have subscribed with the bell for next one.

    Good to see you and your bird are one again. 172's are indeed not 210's!

    Edward, don't know how I found you but it's been nice & interesting. My father was a Captain for American Airlines for 40 years. I hate heights & do not care to fly. You my friend are the true meaning of "Calm Under Pressure." I am glad you got your ride going up in the air again. God is on your side 4 sure. Keep those skies enjoyable. Brent Oceanside, CA

    I'm happy to see you posted something. I realize that time is hard, and doing what you need to do to get to this point may not have been 'camera friendly.' So, I'll never say anything about something like that.
    However, I will say that I'm glad you're posting again, that the squawks for the airplane have been taken care of and you're back in the air. Sorry to hear the Chinese restaurant was closed, but he, BBQ is always good, right? :D

    G'day from Australia Ed. Was just wondering, are those DC One X's? If so, how do you like them?

    • @TheEdwardFrye
      @TheEdwardFrye  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, they're pretty good, a bit small for my big head and ears but slightly more comfortable than the Bose A20 for my head. After a few years the ear cups started to flake apart, I just replaced them. I have bluetooth connected to my ipad/foreflight which is pretty cool.

    Thanks for posting, but as another airplane owner, I am waiting with baited breath, as to what caused the catastrophic failure of your engine that led to your now infamous impossible turn success. I just had two engine overhauls for my twin, and have not even been hung and rigged yet... what should I look out for? Any recommendations to avoid my own in flight problemo...? You seem to have a lot of faith in your local engine shop, seems they took care of it for you, would love to hear more details... I want to hear what it took for a positive outcome, albeit quite a few months downstream...

    • @mpgofast
      @mpgofast 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need to have the engine shop test run your overhauled engines on a test stand before you pick up the engines, no test stand, no overhaul. That's why we usually get a factory overhaul exchange, a little more money but a wise investment

    I'm currently waiting for my freshly overhauled engine to be reinstalled. Hopefully the first flight after it's done will be uneventful.

    Stop flying with your cowl flap open at 8500 ft.

    • @TheEdwardFrye
      @TheEdwardFrye  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Still breaking in the engine, and CHTs were still pretty hot at 8500 feet so I was keeping them partially open otherwise they would be over 400f

    Glad you flying again! You seem rather uptight in the video, you need to relax more. Your flying movements are not fluid, rather static and jerky. Also, with all those cameras on you, you seem uneasy and unable to talk while flying. Your audience is watching!
