If you wanna see how dlc should really be done look at Rockstar. And far cry 3. Their dlc is valuable and worth it. But I love arma lll still their marksman dlc is pretty cool.
Wormy POOH I'm kinda lost. Are you saying that Bohemias dlc-politics are bad? You need to consider that Bohemia isn't a very big company with tons of money.

I actually OWN Arma III. Bought in while it was being developed for early access and it came with the full version of the game for way less money. I played like 10 minutes of it but they didn't have the tutorials made up and ready yet. It (right off the bat) is one of the most difficult games to control ever! But in the long run, once you learn everything, I'm sure that is one of the highlights of the game. Having more control inputs than you can fit on a 360 controller can be a really good thing. I just need to devote some time to going through the tutorial process and learn to play Arma 3! I don't have the best system in the world,. faaaaaar from it. But drop the graphics setting, learn to play, and I'm sure I'll be rewarded with some hyper-realistic military gameplay!
Maybe "frames per second improvement" DLC next time? xD

The sound improvements are good but I personally use the 3.0 JSRS sound mod best immersive improvement they should just add that to the game.

I think the EMR 7.62 should be abit more powerful. Plus its a cool looking gun and sounds great

Just for PC. The game uses like every key on the keyboard. I don't know how well that would translate to consoles. Coincidentally though there is a controller support, although I have not tried it.

Kurtis Vignes They are working on it, nothing has been revealed so far (only that they are working on it and a terrain has been chosen), but after the marksmen DLC, the big expansion will be next. So probably it will release end of this year.

this DLC is free? this is going to be a bad ass DLC! This is the reason why I switched from consoles for developers to who actually care about their community rather than other Corp who souly care about the money ( Activision, Infinityward, Treyarch, 343, Rockstar. etc). Screw consoles cnIm

Those guys release almost monthly FREE DLC for GTA Online...Rockstar is one of the Developers who actually care.
Marcus Quiles The way Bohemia Interactive works with Arma DLC is as follows: when releasing a dlc (paid), they also release a 'platform update', which is free. The platform update adds features for the whole community (in this case weapon resting for example) and the dlc adds guns which use these features. So if you don't want to pay, you still get the features for free, and if you pay you get the guns and in part also support the development of the free part.

if you have a good computer yes. i love it, am constantly playing it with friends, if you liked arma 2 then youll like arma 3. it can be frustrating at times but its really fun overall. just make sure your computer can handle, if you think eh it might be able to you'll probably be playing on low with 15 fps

queenform More like custon gamemodes that are poorly optimized. (Wasteland, Altis Life, Koth) Try playing the new gamemode "End Game" on the dev branch. I get 60 fps avg. and 52fps min. (With 32 players.)

queenform well officially yes it's developed by BI, but I still prefer to do what they do and keep the name separate, he joined BI but he's still the only one right now working on it. he's getting a dedicated team in two months though.

dchizz66 What settings are you playing on (max draw distance)? do you use mods? do you play online? on shitty servers? using lots of bad scripts?
For me (GTX970, i7 2600, 8GB RAM), in singleplayer, custom missions with lots of mods, it runs pretty good (above 30 fps), with object draw distance about 5000m
dchizz66 More like you should stop joining servers with custom missions. I have worse specs than you and I never drop below 60fps on default ultra in singleplayer and never below 30fps in multiplayer. Most custom missions e.g Altis Life, Koth etc are terribly and full of scripts. (I was playing the new offical gamemode "End Game" with ~30 players and the framerate never went below 50.) Try playing skyrim with tons of scripts at a playable framerate, that simply won't happen. Check /r/arma and search for the performance guide.
Dawid Sopata had skyrim running with around 50 mods and never had issues ;)...and 30FPS is shit unless i'm on a console...i play with the 506th IR Realism Unit so playing on custom missions is what they do (you buy the game for campaign? lol)...and searching for "performance guide" on reddit brings up a ton of shit...not one "guide"...i've been playing this shit for about a year and a half and have looked at so many different "guides" that change nothing...messed with everything from the in-game settings to the config files and everything between.
mnnrlfs yes, i use mods, BI's fictional weapons suck...yes, i play online lmfao (don't know anyone who bought this shit for the campaign) and i play on our unit's servers (506th IR Realism Unit)...so, maybe there's still problems with the game itself?? lol...since i've played many other games that are modded and they can run just fine...every time i talk about this to fellow A3 players, i get the same bullshit response "that's just Arma" or "welcome to Arma" as if it's my first day
dchizz66 Mods are not scripts, mods can contain scripts, but they don't have to. I simply wanted to point out, that your framerate is dependent on the server you're playing on (and on what type of mission is running).The singleplayer performance and even vanilla mulitplayer gamemodes prove, that arma isn't a unoptimized piece of shit, it isn't well optimized either.
I'm assuming that you play with custom weapons. Dslysexi did a test, where he measured the performance with 100 units using vanilla weapons and custom weapons. Custom weapons have a huge performance impact compared to vanilla weapons.
Its still nowhere near realism! The weapons are quite realistic! NO RECOIL WHATSOEVER
