I think in regard to the graphite core, most cheap pencils will perform ok. The bigger, and equally as important possible difference is the pencil construction and the wood used. It is very important that core is always centered so the pencil can be easily and quickly sharpened without causing interruptions in the work flow. Same goes for the fragility of the graphite cores they use. The wood should also be soft and solid enough to allow for sharpening by hand if you need a very exposed core for shading. Another important feature is the consistency in the pencil lead quality, but that one is difficult to check.
Yeah I noticed with cheap coloured pencils as well that the flaws that always annoyed me the most is the cheap wood they use. The wood on the artlines was really good though. Maybe not quite as smooth to sharpen as the Faber Castells, but they weren’t far off.
Amazon has the Faber Castells for $13.45 today. That includes a kneaded eraser, a plastic eraser, and a little sharpener. That's too expensive for you?!
They are much more expensive and they average $2,28 each. Faber Castell 900 set 1.38 each. Mitsubishi Uni Hi Wooden Pencil Art Set 1.19 each STAEDTLER graphite pencil set
My apologies, I based the U.S. price on the U.K. price. I just converted it from pounds to dollars forgetting that the price isn’t always just a straight conversion
Great video, exactly what I need to choose what pencil I'm gonna buy. Thank you, I'll subscribe now
Thank you very much! I really appreciate it!

These pencils sound great but definitely not affordable in the USA! Great work btw.
Thank you very much! Really? I wonder why they’re not affordable over there. Maybe the import price or something
