The Google Pixel 6 and Google Pixel 6 Pro are fantastic phones, but they aren't perfect phones adn that's ok. What phone is actually perfect, right? I think that Google did a great job making the Pixel 6 and the Pixel 6 Pro and they offer a unique Android experience with a mostly solid camera and a lot of great a software and services that you can't get on other phones. Google is releasing a massive update to fix over 100 Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 pro bugs and issues and make the experience even better, which should make the phone as good as it should have been on launch and should fix a lot of the complaints. The Pixel 6 phones were definitely way overhyped for a long time before the phone came out and I don't think it quite lived up to the hype, but it has exceeded my expectations!

The Pixel 6 (not Pro) was an upgrade for my wife's birthday. She had her last phone for the past 6 years and it was just too slow and would not hold a charge any more than half a day. For $599, minus a $200 credit from my provider, the Pixel 6 is a great deal and my wife has not had any problems with hers. I guess that she lucked out. No glitches or software issues since it arrived.
I have a Note 20 Ultra and she now rubs it in my face that she now has a camera that is just as good, if not, better than what I have.
This is the first Pixel that I've ever purchased and my wife is completely happy with it.

This wife is happy too. I had been watching and reading reviews of anything Pixel and for Google Fi, for years - and I carefully made the switch, preparing to "go back!" if it was problematic. There's a learning curve and I knew to expect that it wouldn't be perfect - because of this pandemic, all supply materials are having issues everywhere and NOTHING is EVER perfect. I firmly believe that Google pushed it out before it was ready due to the pandemic and people's needs to purchase it for Christmas gifts (as mine was). If it wasn't available for Christmas gifting, other phones may have been purchased instead, so it was a market share-grab -- and risk -- by Google, pushing it out before it was perfectly ready for the high-end critics. It is better than fine for the average user, who make up the bulk of the sales. Complimenting the early push and making up for the problems some would encounter is an amazing customer service experience, which surprised me the MOST!!!!! Tech support is much better than I thought it would be. With my Samsung, my old phone, I'd have to get in the car and trudge to the local store - with this Pixel, I'm in my armchair asking questions. They also made up for some problems by offering great package deals with Fi. I have the "Pixel Pass" which provides me extra storage in Drive, Premium YT and Premium Music, and Play (which I'm not really using - is anyone?). The ONLY thing I wish it had is a plug so I can play music at church from it or use my existing earphones that I like. I have to use my older, slower phone when I need to plug in, but that works so - I can get by - which brings me to my point: I know for some people "getting by" isn't enough. They want the whole 9 yards each and every day, they want and expect speed and perfection - bullet trains over Amtrak, affordable Porsches over Fords, mansions not cabins. Well, folks, you make your life what it is. Be happy with your choices, be patient with your problems, and be kind to each other, particularly on the web. P.S. Facial recognition is a problem for those of us using glasses, or who, when driving, wear sunglasses, though if it's like the fingerprint and you can make several snaps of yourself in various eyewear, that would work. I constantly HATED the facial recognition on my old phone b/c sometimes I wear glasses and sometimes I don't.

I think hype and expectations have largely impacted the perceived user experience for this particular phone. Granted this is not the first Pixel BUT it is the first in house top to bottom Google Pixel and for that I'll give them a pass on the few bugs I have experienced. On the whole you'd be hard pressed to find a better more complete Android phone for the price especially here in the US. I mean think about how polarizing the Essential PH1 was and how that phone and company got raked across the coals because of enthusiast expectations. It was a good phone that was almost a great phone before it's EOL. Let's see what this update does and see how it "matures" during it's lifecycle.

The differences between users (some getting bugs, some not) are because of the Tensor chip. The AI is reacting to what you are doing and clicking the same thing under different circumstances will trigger different effects on the phone. The bugs are there and if you are not experiencing it, don't be sad and keep trying. You will eventually see them as well. I've had camera bugs, speaker bugs (while in a conversation with someone over the phone or on WhatsApp), frozen phone bugs, and probably the most important, battery bug (discharging overnight over 10%, no apps active, no always-on display). It's a nice phone, but it's not there yet. They released it too fast and we act like beta-testers, but instead of getting paid, we pay them to do it.

I was forced to upgrade 2 phones b/c CDMA support is going away for Sprint. For my use cases, chose the Pixel 6 Pro after comparing available devices and options. After 1 week of use, so far, this is the best Android phone I have used. The jury is still out for my wife simply b/c it's different than what she had which means she has to get accustomed to the differences. I also have an iPhone 11 Pro Max but don't compare iOS vs Android b/c I like things about both. I used to reach for the iPhone 1st but have been picking up the Pixel lately, maybe b/c it's new. Let's be honest here like LG phone's every single issue the pixel has is front and center in every review literally everything even rumoured issues.
Were as with apple and Samsung they don't talk about the issues until the next generation comes out then there's all these amazing fixes that had to happen because without them your phones Garbage.
