Tom, i'm writing this here in hopes you will reply soon. I've been looking into games like frosthaven and gloomhaven, I'm trying to find a game like these ( or one of these) that has some pretty lengthy gameplay, but the rules aren't too complicated. To be honest frosthaven looks pretty complicated. but I would like your suggestion for which one of these types of games you think best fits this. thanks
@@dianebusby7047 There are a bunch of really big boss monster "miniatures". Not the size of Cmon Cthulhu or Galactus, but still pretty big ones. If this game would have had standees (acrylic or cardboard), I bet it could have fit into the "Sleeves" box complete :).
I hate the trend of releasing a game with many expansions before the base game has had time to be out for at least a year to get playthroughs. I get they are just modules for the game, but I still prefer just a base game, and then add more later, improve the game, fix some bugs.
Yeah its a huge reason why I have little fomo for kickstarter releases. Doesn't feel like a base game when it can ship with a dozen more gameplay related boxes (minis/etc are there own thing). It just feels like I've gotten a piece of the game as designed. Just like video games these days, just give me a completed game and then start working on extra content or fixes/second editions.

I'd laugh if Inventions was 60-150 minutes (per player)
its going to get harder and harder to review games when every game takes 2 years to play
