Based on the Vikings TV Series. I thought I'd practice my pretty decent Norwegian Accent if I do say so myself. And no the fact that I have done two Scandinavian Romances now is purely coincidental haha.
You are a Shield Maiden of Kattegat about to journey fourth with Ragnar to find this strange 'Land in the West' he keeps talking about. So you get the idea to ask your childhood friend and crush, the Blacksmith, for a weapon before you go. What will the future hold for you two I wonder?... ;)

I may be wrong but I heard that Vikings would take animal bones and forge their weapons with them, mixing it with the metal and it actually made the blade stronger. They thought it was the spirit of the animal making the blade stronger.
Berserkers, vikings known for their ferocity and near "trance-like" rage in battle, were believed to drink either steroid-drugged liquor or animal blood. They believed that animal blood gave them the strength of the animal it had come from. Bears and wolves were popular, assuming the stories are true. It is also just as ,if not more, likely that they used plants in their alcohol as steroids, though.
Learned about the Norse a couple weeks ago in my Mythology class! Super stoked to see how these might match up!
