Non-creators might not realise how much guts it takes to stop chasing the algorithm/views and just create what makes you happy. Big respect to you dude 🙂👍 Plus it's encouraging for me personally as I'm stuck in a similar place with my channel. Keep it up, it'll work out.
True but also obsessing over the views and subs could be harmful if you don't get the results and might cause a burn out I have been there but now I just enjoy making videos and not worry so much about views and all
I might be wrong, but I think I can tell when you are enjoying making videos, and I enjoy them more when you seem to be enjoying it more. Your honesty is appreciated! Keep it up, man!
I was in search of different methods of HOW different editors organize folder media BEFORE importing to final editing software. I watched your video to the end and found it to be a delight. I'll be back to watch more. MANY THANKS :)
I draw inspiration from your vlogs and love them. People need to realize the cycle of youtube. You provide information videos providing value to build an audience. Once the audience is there they become curious about you and the vlogs start happening. We all would love to vlog from the start but if you have a very ordinary life nobody will watch... Until you build your audience
I don't think your life doesn't get much more interesting when you have an audience (unless it's ginormous), the creator just gets better at telling more interesting stories in their day to day ;) we're all interesting in one way or another, it's just about how you package it
@@joshmoxey. I can agree with that. I tried starting out vlogging and literally after 70 videos had like 200 views so I switched to more tutorials and how to's and the views are coming. That is why I say build audience then vlog because no audience means nobody cares what your life . That is the basis of my statement but you are right storytelling is everything.
I know how hard it feels when people starts putting you in a box of only a certain genre of content. I have seen many youtubers becoming a victim of this. But i am happy that you are still making what you want and not what people want to see.
“Keep on keeping on!’” Do your thing Peter. This vlog reminded me of when I subscribed after watching one of you old-school FCPX tutorials. Years ago! 🙌
1) Congratulations on your 500,000 subscribers, as I am a new one myself. 2) Thank you for all the videos as I start my TH-cam channel and navigate photography using my first full-frame Sony a 7 Mark III camera
Just came back to watch this again to remind myself about the file management stuff. Forgot that you gave your dad a cameo in this one for words of wisdom :) great that you're about to head off on a trip with him. Got to do a trip with my dad earlier this year and it was fantastic.
Wow Peter how did you know that I needed to watch exactly this video today…not only that but it answered a question I had for myself re. whether to start making vlogs… thank you so much. Totally agree… as a creative you gotta do what is fun for you…loving what you do…
F*ck yeah.. Keep it coming, Pete! You're doing just fine with these vlog-vibes videos -- keep mixing it up and bringing us along on your journey. Loving it
Really interesting as we are a small channel but we are pivoting from just random factual videos about caravanning we want to do more vlogs. We found our newer videos struggle compared to older ones. We are hoping that over time people who are subscribed start to adapt, we will see.
This might be from 2 years ago but I’m hear today and thank you for making this video . I just started vlogging and creating content and this helped me to go on Lbvs
Same, I feel like I’m always modifying the way I store everything (videos, photos, projects for school and personal projects. Because I want to be able to find it easily in the future to look back on.
Loved all your gear videos in the past but I love the vlogs even more because it gives this "human" element and connect with your audience in a different way. Keep it up Peter!
Cool video. thanks for sharing you file management workflow. I'm still trying to decide on the best way to store terrabytes of raw footage from all of the my projects. Do you keep everything you've ever recorded on your NAS? Thanks!
so ppl are complaining cuz you leveled up and realized your b roll is actually your A roll and you're starting to actually make legit looking films. this is the issue with youtube. lol. too many epic b roll idiots that just want to see a transition that doesn't make sense bc they're imitating TH-camrs instead of filmmakers. you should use post haste for your post production workflow. just customize your own templates for however you catalog your footage. and then it's one click easy folder hierarchy and you drag and drop this. saves you a lot of time dude.
Your father is truly a wise man and I live by his advise 😇 Similar to the guy in the background at 4:20 I rarely drink alcohol and my main beverage is water 😁
It’s funny how you say you don’t like doing B-roll any more, but you still do it…you’re just having a lot more fun with it now. 😎 Love it!!! Thanks for the overview on your file management. My setup is similar, just need to figure out a solution for storing the completed stuff.
this is great, thanks! what platform do you use to transfer your files from iphone? I have my content shot mostly on my iphone and stored in iphoto where I organize them into folders. I'm having a hard time finding a service that I can easily drag and drop all types of files (including live photos) directly to them so I can then share with my team to edit with me. Looking at wetransfer, drive, and now dropbox. Any help with this is awesome thanks!
Currently brought here after wanting to figure out how to organize my footage for my Project Hometown Documentary - I'm going to try out your format for managing footage as it can seem stressful from afar. Also I don't know if you get this a lot but your vlogs remind me of Casey Neistats especially the overhang camera/ going over material shot. Anyhow Thanks for the video
Brilliant one, well like the mix up of vlogs and tips really good feel to them. I also file stuff just like that, dates camera all the stuff. Nice one take care 👌
Hi Peter, I think this is a winning combination. I enjoy your VLOGS immensely and same for your teaching/advice but when you combine them in one video like this it's just *absolute gold* . Keep up the great work and thank you so much for the guidance you share. Stay Safe bro.
Can I ask how many SSD you have and how much storage space? I have 2TB but it is getting full very quickly because I have too many Videos and that after only 3 months of working. I am a bit confused because I don't need my fully filmed 30 min video sometimes I just need one part of it. how do you save these?
Enjoying your videos, as always Peter. Interesting to learn about your file management system. On your Sony files do you just work in .MTS or do convert them into another format before editing? Thanks.
I like that your videos are different. I always see it as a sign of growth. Things are never static and are ever changing. Therefore, it is only natural for your TH-cam channel to change as you start having different interests or new exciting things to look for. Anyways, keep going Peter from Sweeden. 🤟
It’s worth mentioning that it’s useful to write the date backwards, as then it’s an incremental number, e.g. 2021_07_10. This can be appended with the time in hours, minutes and seconds, e.g. 2021_07_10-231030
Ohhh loved the reverse theme in this video!! 🤙🏽 very nicely done! So when you put all the files into the “camera name” does that host your A roll and Broll and you have to find the respective file?
Great idea with the sunrise, it rises at 2:30am where I live and I once tried this sunset thing but birds kept getting in my shot, kind of defeats the purpose right xD
I just go by date, then month and also make folder description of project. easily searchable and back up by year. its so hard to choose either genre or date.
Was surprised to see Lila in your video, didnt know you knew each other. Have watched a lot of Lila´s videos to understand some editing in Premiere Pro which unfortunately I cant really get here (nodge nodge ...) ; )
Are you saying "NAS", the captions are saying NOS and NOSE, but I think you are saying NAS (Network attached storage) drives..... Trying to figure out the best waay to set my studio up for editing so I can be organized and ready to go without slowing down productivity and performance.
I dare you to make an entire vlog in reverse. Nearly all of your bureau is reversed bureau try to do other things in reverse too like you're a role in reverse that would be cool. Like okay idea for a vlog make an interesting b-roll and interesting arrow in reverse and make a voice over on top of this reverse content I think will be really cool honestly this is a great video idea by itself should try to make a reverse type thing video that is all nearly all of the video is reverse not just a small bureau segments and keep doing what you like I will fit on your energy in your passion in your videos and Peter so just do whatever you feel is mostly passionate for you and will surely will fit on that energy of yours when you were passionate about the bureau we get passions 2 this is how it goes

I didn’t expect You here ☺️ nice to see two of my few favorite creators in one space 🙃 I'm glad both of You keep creating stuff for us, the viewers ❤️
@@mikeapril ahh thanks Mike!! Honoured to be bundled up with Peter 😊
MrAlexTech, you are one of my fav channels!
Totally true! I’m going thru that as well!
Main content starts from 3:15
Tho I didn't see this message before wasting my time, thanks!
I might be wrong, but I think I can tell when you are enjoying making videos, and I enjoy them more when you seem to be enjoying it more. Your honesty is appreciated! Keep it up, man!
I appreciate how well-organized your videos are!
I like how the reverse theme from the first scene carried through the entire video
These vlogs are my favorite thing TH-cam right now
loved the words of wisdom haha :)

To be honest, I enjoy this style of Vlogs+Tips rather than pure tutorials or B-rolls. It’s fun to watch :)
Just sat down to eat breakfast and I saw that Peter uploaded 27 minutes ago. Perfect start on a Saturday!
Everything has a place. I like the vlogs when you do things for yourself you keep the passion alive
Peter - this is a perfect example of storytelling and education- just a great balance of both-

Interesting Topic and that v log tutorial style is nice!! more of that pete :)
Your room is insane. I look forward to someday having the means to do the same.
The closing scene cracked me up! Thanks for the sunset/sunrise hack!
Me: Notices glass of water
Peter’s dad: DRINK IT.
Thank you for all these great videos! These tips are helping set good foundations for many.

I’m loving the new format mate. I’m learning heaps of practical things but also drawing heaps of inspiration.

Unexpected words of wisdom there at the end. 😂
So good Peter! You ever heard of a band called Blindside? They are Swedish!
Your vlogs are awesome but your father is even better!!👍😉
