at 9:45 that reminds me of one thing I like about the fat drives, and thats the center magnet that holds the disc once its inserted. my trinity slim came with a DG-16d4s and it doesnt have the magnet, that caused an issue with the discs becoming dislodged and stuck if you have your xbox standing up vertically and bumped it

First off concerning the video quality it is great and the audio is crisp. Good job man.
Second, I want to thank you for this crash course regarding what we could do and what we can't/shouldn't do when it comes to replacing the dvd-drive in the xbox 360. (I was smiling the whole time watching this explanatory video).
Now down to business, I understand that you don't recommend swapping drives which originate from different manufacturers but this is my given situation: (Xbox 360 Elite console; AKA FAT)
The drive which my 360 was shipped with is Philips & Lite-on, and I have a replacement Samsung drive.
You said it's possible to do this different brand swap as long as the necessary flashes are done.
You think it's okay if I do this, and that I could smoothly play the XGD3 games? Please keep in mind that I'm strictly an offline gamer.

Yeah that's the framerate dropping while recording, only issue I have with this cam.
I got a free slim from a friend but the disc drive is done for. If I look at what model it is and buy the same one I'd be good to play original games not copies?
My lite-on drive is fucked and I'm thinking about just buying another 360 off craigslist for like $50 since I have no knowledge of soldering. Which xbox 360 do you think is the best? I might possibly get into non-soldering mods.

i tried to put a phat drive(benq with correct key) on a slim for testing purposes, detects games as dvd's. maybe there are limitations...
I've seen it done with LiteOn drives, wouldn't recommend it though.

Yeah.
@@MrMario2011 Little update. I replaced the 46's PCB with the 79's and flashed the console's original BenQ key onto it with the 79 LT 3.0 firmware. Although I had to bend the metal a little bit in order to get it to fit optimally, it worked just fine. Booted XGD3 games absolutely fine, too.
