- I picked velvet apple before they fell on the ground. There are so much childhood memories with the velvet apple. We call this fruit 'mabolo' in our local language. I made fruit shake and jam and my family enjoyed it.

So many memories with the velvet apple(mabolo). I remember when I was young, me and my friends rush to get some mabolo after class. Sadly, this fruit is now rare in my country. People value the wood more than the fruit. It's so sad to think that children today don't even know such fruit exists. When is the last time you ate some mabolo?
Sad reality because the ebony wood is prized timber for furniture making. I just feel bad madi nak nakaraman tatta ta dinadael met ni Egay dagituy adadtuy ayan mi. They are still common here though
💚💚💚
10:00-11:05, genuinely happy family. The family's unconditional love is hard to compete with.❤
Priceless!
Kunak nu santol saan.gayam 😂
Agmula ka gayyem ben. Maski sa probinsya saan aq lumaki, wla n dn mabolo

I remember my happy child hood days, happy with the simple kind of life. Time flies so fast, thank you.
At the garden of Dr. Jose Rizal's house in Calamba City, 2 big old trees of Mabolo are still around. They bear fruits all year round. I love the smell of those.
One of the best and very few foraging vlogs around. We all need to learn your skills even in this day and age. A very charming vlog on daily life in serene rural Philippines. Thank you!❤
I have forgotten about this fruit. Living in the city where theres an abundance of produce, i see less of native fruits in the market that i remember from my youth. Mabolo, makopa, kasuy, aratiles, duhat, tamarind, oblong shaped melon we used to add to halo halo, guava, sineguelas, star apple, yellow orange papaya and some i cant remember the names. Perhaps less fruit bearing trees being planted now. Thanks for such nostalgic content! Wish i could be there and smell the lovely scents of the place, the food and just live❤❤❤
Good morning! Thanks for sharing your beautiful place❤️🙏🙏🙏
So true this fruit is rare now in our country.
One thing I love about Gayyem Ben videos is that, it transports you to a different place every time. You can always feel the countryside vibe, the peace, happiness, contentment and all. It's just so inspiring and satisfying to watch. Some Filipino TH-camrs try to copy what he's doing but you can't feel anything about their videos. Thanks for sharing your life with us Gayyem Ben. You're the best. By the way, the smoothie, sweet potato fries and jam looks good. 😋😋
Oh and I must add, I'm not skipping ads. Simple way to support your genuine videos. ❤❤
Couldn't agree more!
The persimmon of the Philippines❤
Well have to admit I didn’t know of this fruit’s existence and I’m a grandfather , never too old to learn of something new !
As i remembered, we had so much Mabolo trees in our School, on some street and backyards of neighborhoods on the way to school But now they're all gone 😭
I've never seen velvet apples before. It's good to know. They look like peaches.
It is a relative of persimmon. The wood is valuable as it is black and very hard similar to ebony.
Sarap panoorin
Very refreshing mabolo shake with the combination of sweet potato fries around greenery field and natural fresh air in the country side. The rain downpour is so relaxing and its cool background music. Plus the happiness brings the family that eat together in a very simple way of life. Wow a such a great scene and experience... More power gayyem Ben.❤
I'm from Negros Oriental, Dumaguete with a lot of family in Negros Occidental. Bacolod City. When I was young, I used to take the backroad going to school. I had to walk 3 kilometres barefoot as I grow old now it reminds me of the fruit that I love to eat before going home, there is plenty of mabolo trees next to the sugarcane field.I left my mother land more than 40 years ago. Watching your vlog, I felt like the memories got into my inner self. How I wish i was young again, I would love to climb the mabolo trees again and again. It's sweet and delicious it filled up my tummy.😢
no skipping ads done ❤
wow namiss ko yan
Sarap siguro yan, sana matikman ko, they big like red apple.
Endemic fruit of the PHILIPPINES.. It's very rare now
It is nice to make a product from mabolo fruit like the jam you made.
Still recall the past when i and my brother pick some young fruit of mabolo, smash them and get the young seeds and eat it, similar taste of kaong flesh...the best memories of our childhood ❤️🙏🍀
Simple life, full of happiness❤️❤️❤️
The lush green countryside and the verdant rice paddies are a mesmerizing beauty of Nature in the Philippines. Truly a tropical paradise.
Wow, I didn't know they still have mabolo. I remember this fruit as a kid. Thanks for taking me down the memory lane. I hope the new generation replant the tree so we can have more of them in the future
The last time I had mabolo was when I was in elementary. Wala na ako masyadong nakikitang ganyan ngayon. Kudos sir sa mga nostalgic videos mo 😊
Wow, I think the last time I ate mabolo was when I was still in highschool, 40+ years ago. I'm now near my senior year, But I still remember the taste. It's sad that it's no longer available here in NCR.
Anyways, as always I enjoy watching your video. Stunning view. 🙂
My mom’s favorite…smiles so good when it ripe
Contentment, security, & peace of mind!
Thanks for sharing more success to your Channel GodBless
I remember I've tried this fruit when I was in primary. ❤❤❤❤❤ I know that it has a cottony like taste but sweet.... that was 25 years back😊😊😊
- Cool video thanks for sharing my friend. Love from The USA 🇺🇸 ❤️ 💕
Very delicious fruit
You are very good cook. Your Mom and Dad are blessed to have a Son like you.
wow.... so mabolo looks like peach and probably tastes the same. in your basket i saw pieces of santol....oh wow i have never seen those for ages.
We had this in Cavite. We lived in a subdivision and across the river/dirty creek is a little farm with tall Mabolo trees.
Farmers used to throw the fruits to us. We’d get lucky if someone catches it properly 😂
Before we moved out, the trees were gone because they’re severely damaged by the typhoon and floods. I think the farmers decided to cut all of the trees and converted them to houses😢
I miss being a child😢
The trees are called kamagong, their fruits are called mabolo.
What a sweet family and authentic organic foods ❤
More power to you ading GB🙏

I haven't seen these fruits in years. I do remember how they taste and the texture.
Me too 😊
Similar to apple, pero mushy yung laman nya at mabango at sweet😊
This is one of my favourite fruit when I was young, so creamy and smell so good. This tree can grow in the mountains so it’s 💯 organic and tasty
"People value its wood more than its fruits." This is sad. I've heard of mabolo but it's my first time seeing one. Thank you, Gayyem, again, for another beautiful content.
Always ko talagang inaabangan mga upload mo nakakarelax kasi from cavite alwys nka support
I have always looked forward to someone from the PH who will make this kind of content. This is so calming and informative at the same time. May you continue creating this kind of content. God bless 💕
Thank you 🙏🏼 I didn’t even know this fruit existed. There is so much to learn. I wish that people could understand how important this is to save for the future generations to come. You always amaze me. So knowledgeable about all these edible fruits, vegetables, etc., you find in your area. And you prepare such delicious food. That shake, fried sweet potatoes 🍠, and bread with jam looks so appetizing. Delicious! Thank you so much. I always enjoy the gorgeous nature, those rice fields, mountains, rivers, clouds, and of course the tropical rain ! Sending love to you and your family. Take care ❤
Same here po
I love that fruit by the way. Nag imas.
Ang bango at ang sarap ng mabolo🤩Maraming salamat Gayyem Ben, you are a legend !!!
Nice nature
I happened to taste this fruit (Talang in kapampangan) when I was grade 2, so young then when my brother bought one from front school vendor. He gave me a slice and out of curiosity I tasted it and liked it. I remember I sniffed it and it had unique smell compared to other fruits it tasted sweet and had a white flesh like that of an apple. I’ve also seen a tree of this kind in the backyard of a classmate but now a days I don’t see any of this tree and the fruits won’t be found anymore even in fruit stores. When I come home for good I will plant many fruits trees in the land that we bought including this mabolo if ever I find seeds or seedlings.
Wow,so nice, mabolo shake. Ay apo, again imas mga ading ko, I'm from Urdaneta, Pangasinan.

Ive been craving for mabolo this past few days then I saw this. It was my favorite when I was a kid bcoz it has a very similar taste to Atis without its annoying seeds. Unfortunately my grandmas Mabolo tree died long time a go and I cant see someone in our neighborhood has it. Thank you Ben for featuring one of our local fruit tress.
