Yeah, other than nostalgia there's not much reason to pick up the first one. Well besides ruining your control stick.
It's funny that the control stick issue was so bad it made them create a new game to fix it and basically make this a series.
To be fair, most of them are really good minigames.
My favorites were always Buried Treasure and Face Lift as a kid!

Despite the notorious rotate Control Stick issues in certain few mini-games such as Cast Away or Pedal Power (HATE that one), the original Mario Party is my favorite in the series, with 2 being very close. Still own it to this day.

In my version of the game, it had Move To The Mambo for Balloon Burst and Musical Mushroom. But in this version it had Coins Of The World for Musical Mushroom and Faster Than All for Balloon Burst. Why is that the case?
I bet your hand hurts a lot and has blisters plus craters on your hands from playing those control stick mini games hopefully your hand(s) will recover quickly. Those minigames must have painful to play
