    Andy "aTrippyFarmer" Dole is a 6th generation farmer from Central Illinois. On this farm, Andy works alongside his father, Marty, his uncles, Chris and Jeff, and his sister, Katie, to grow corn and soybeans on some of the finest dirt in the world. Andy and his family are deeply rooted in the area, operating a large farm that traces it origins back into the 1800s. Although some tracts did not stand the test of time, Andy and his family still grow corn and soybeans on fields that have been in the family for longer than even the oldest members of the farm have been alive. We do, we have, and we always will take tremendous pride in calling this piece of paradise our home. Andy was a Bronze Tablet graduate of the University of Illinois in the field of Crop Sciences, following the same path as his father and late grandfather.
    It would be misleading for Andy to claim that this life is one that came by chance; rather, as a member of two multi-generational farm families, it was simply in his blood. His passion for agriculture traces back to his early youth--some of his fondest, earliest memories being of days spent riding in the combine with his father and grandfather. Although his understanding of the lifestyle was much less complex in the beginning, the love he has for farming, and its industry has only appreciated through time. As this dream blossomed into adulthood, Andy now works relentlessly, and tirelessly, to chase his own dreams and to build a farming operation of his own alongside his family.
    We, as a whole operation, are handymen, electricians, mechanics, landscapers, accountants, economists, caretakers, stewards, and, most importantly, farmers, and we take an incredible amount of pride in our work. There is no challenge too overwhelming, no situation too stressful, and no problem too difficult for us to take on, and we want to take you along with us. Welcome to our farm and welcome to our lives. You have the best seat in the house to watch the everyday chaos of farming unfold--we usually only get concerned when things aren't going wrong!

    Hi Ryan I was just thinking about you and your trailer. I would still clean the exterior with Zep, that being said. Your tanker was covered by a thermal skink( i.e. fiberglass and stainless exterior. The interior that is now your exterior was never meant to be finished shiney and the time would be prohobitive you'd have hundred's of hrs in prep alone. Of course you have a cheaper alternative and you'll be able to make it look different just by getting a duplicolor hi build primer block it fairly smooth but don't get picky except for the seam. Then paint the center and put Dole farm's on it front back and sides and call it a herbicide trailer. Just a thought 🤔 shining aluminum takes a minimum of six passes and that is over the entire trailer. As always good luck and God bless and stay safe out there

    • @vaughnhurdsman5648
      @vaughnhurdsman5648 ปีที่แล้ว

      @aTrippyFarmer What happens is when you're filling the tank at 300 to 350 gpm, that little float is being pushed up by the water that's balancing from the water pressure in the tank. It is slow because it has to push the air out off the tube when it is getting pushed up from the water being put into the tank. Also, the tank is smaller at the top potion of the tank so the float in the sight tube can't push the air out fast enough to keep up with the water level entering the tank.

    There is a setting in the height control where you can set a secondary height to move to that you can toggle to when you go over a terrace. and then with a button push, resume to your original set height without manually moving any booms

I’d love to get you started on some cover cropping. I’m very pro herbicide despite being organic. It just breaks my heart the way so many are leaving that $ on the table.

      My hilly ground and a big sprayer boom is a lot like a heavy cross wind landing in a 737. The aircraft wants to float instead of land, and the wind wants to dig your wing tip in to the runway. That’s why you get those hard landings from time to time. You have to get it planted on the ground and brake hard until your under 80 knots.

    Does the Hagie have the ability to drive under auto-pilot using GPS like the John Deere's do? I happened to watch one of the Millenial Farmers videos and he had a planter that was similar to ya'll but instead of wheels under the seed tanks it had tracks. Is that planter a larger planter or the same as yours just with tracks. The tractor he was using also had tracks.

    If that pheasant has a collar that means it just got released by dnr. They have pheasant farms where they hatch them raise them then release them into the wild trying to bring them back. Trust me theres still a lot of coyotes. They release pheasants every year over a million of them into different areas. Their use to people thats why it didn't run from ya.

  • @hfff1

    So no auto boom height control? Spraying is going well for the most part. unless it's worse than you let on. A minor hiccup on the bean planter. why don't the seed tubes come numbered? Where was the blockage? Baulk tank? Are the long hours everything you were hoping for?

    • @aTrippyFarmer
      @aTrippyFarmer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It has auto boom height control. The terraces cause a quick enough change in elevation that it can’t keep up unless I slow way down. I can’t explain the lack of numbering. It would’ve helped. The blockage was right on the inside of the seed tank. The long hours are just part of the timeliness of farming. Once the crop is in, it pretty much goes back to 7-8 hour days for the most part. Might as well run hard while the weather is friendly!

    My question is why are you contaminating your tanker with chemicals. Seems kinda silly that now you have to flush the tank and clean the piss out of it to hold fresh water. If we did that it would be a wreck u can’t ever know how clean it is until you kill or stunt your crop
