The pillow cover is also 😱😍😍😍 I’ve seen other blankets with the quilt look and I’ve always been in love with it. My Stephen west socks are still sitting there and I have the same feelings as you. Not sure if I will finish them. The yarn is so beautiful and I don’t want it to just sit there without being used, I will probably rip them and use it for something else too!

Love your new blanket! I’m so delighted the launch has gone so well. And the cushion!! I have never really fancied knitting a cushion before but I love the idea of so many colour possibilities. I have two knitted cushions that my mum made me well over a decade ago - they have been well-used (I don’t think my brain understands the concept of a decorative cushion 😅) and moved house multiple times; neither one has lost its shape (nor have I needed to do more than spot wash either, despite kids!). One is cotton and the other woollen and both have beads knitted into them so a bit of extra weight to the fabric - and they are still going strong.

You have made me wish I had signed up for an Advent I never knew what to do with the. I’m not in the mode of multistriped garments. A few strip colors are fine but 12-24 drives my eyes crazy. Looove your blanket!! This could be a great way to use up the odds and ends of fingering weight yarn that I always end up with and refuse to throw away! Also, I had the EXACT same experience with my Contrast Blast socks :( it was my first MKAL, and Stephen West's designs aren't typically my thing, so I wasn't too surprised that I ended up disliking them. I will use the yarn for something I enjoy more!
I almost gave up on the Stephen West socks too, but I pulled through and I am glad I did. The socks are positively squishy. I did not finish a Stephen West shawl MKAL before and am not starting another one.

I'm thinking off-white or cream base color and sage greens, gold, terracota, maybe some browns as a CC. I might also knit it in more of a aran gauge. Few weeks ago I've knitted very similar dish cloth to your pillow cover, although your execution is so much better! I didn't knit on bias and it's much more chaotic, but I love the concept. For the name maybe Starburst Quilt Cushion Cover?

As for the new designs, I LOVE them!! I'm not really ready to knit a blanket yet (they kinda intimidate me if I'm honest) but I think your Sweet Shop blanket is adorable! I stopped the contrast blast socks for exactly the same reason! (Although you made it even further than I did). I love Stephen West designs, he’s such an artist, but I’ve realised that they just aren’t my style both to wear and apparently to knit because I always get bored before I’m done and end up frogging 🤷🏻♀️ I’ll just keep following him for the visual interest I suppose. Looove your blanket!! This could be a great way to use up the odds and ends of fingering weight yarn that I always end up with and refuse to throw away! Also, I had the EXACT same experience with my Contrast Blast socks :( it was my first MKAL, and Stephen West's designs aren't typically my thing, so I wasn't too surprised that I ended up disliking them. I will use the yarn for something I enjoy more!
I almost gave up on the Stephen West socks too, but I pulled through and I am glad I did. The socks are positively squishy. I did not finish a Stephen West shawl MKAL before and am not starting another one.

I love your Sweet Shop Blanket! I've bought pattern already and I'm waiting for right time to buy some yarn and knit nice, beautiful blanket for my new living room. I'm thinking off-white or cream base color and sage greens, gold, terracota, maybe some browns as a CC. I might also knit it in more of a aran gauge.
Few weeks ago I've knitted very similar dish cloth to your pillow cover, although your execution is so much better! I didn't knit on bias and it's much more chaotic, but I love the concept. For the name maybe Starburst Quilt Cushion Cover?

As for the new designs, I LOVE them!! I'm not really ready to knit a blanket yet (they kinda intimidate me if I'm honest) but I think your Sweet Shop blanket is adorable! And the cushion cover... lovely! I have an idea for the name btw, wouldn't it be fun something like "the Quilt-essential Cushion"?? You know like, quintessential but "quilt"... maybe it's a bit silly but I personally think it's so much fun😂

Just bought the Sweet Shop pattern. I have already purchased yarn to make the Purl Soho Prism blanket but something kept stopping me from casting on. Now I'm excited to cast on your blanket pattern instead, I love the option of being able to decide on size as I go. Love the cushion design, too!

I was going to wait for my new advent to come from Molly (Homespun House) but November is too far away. Thanks Laura for sharing your lovely blanket. 🥰 Btw, I also ripped out my SW sock. Pattern not my style. Looking forward to your eight-pointed star cushion too, as I also quilt and this works in well.
I stopped the contrast blast socks for exactly the same reason! (Although you made it even further than I did).
I love Stephen West designs, he’s such an artist, but I’ve realised that they just aren’t my style both to wear and apparently to knit because I always get bored before I’m done and end up frogging 🤷🏻♀️ I’ll just keep following him for the visual interest I suppose.

As to your Star cushion, I am a quilter and that Star pattern is the Ohio Star. Maybe you could call it the Knitted Ohio Star cushion or something like that?
