I was disappointed. And that’s not because I liked the show, as I was disappointed at the the whole series. It shouldn’t have been MCU related, it could’ve been live action even if it was MCU related, and it could’ve just sticked to being anthology series instead of being a serialized series disguised as an anthology series.
I was already disappointed with the series, so it wasn’t a surprise when I was disappointed at the 3rd season. The show shouldn’t have been an MCU series because of its animated status. Even if it was an MCU series it could’ve been live action so it could be aligned to the other MCU Shows, and it should’ve stick to being an anthology series instead of being a serialized show disguised as an anthology series.
I'm just glad peggy finally died or disappeared or whatever, she's like the maria rambeau of this series, like are you telling me we could've had shogun ghost rider or weapon x thanos or any of those infinitely more interesting characters!? Normally I'd just let it slide and say "oh it's just typical mcu fumbling" but I'm actually furious at whoever approved this absolute hot mess of a season. And lego talk, I'm still kinda salty that we got echo instead of infinity Ultron on the cmf series...
They have a concept called What If, they could literally do anything...and once again they try to have their cake and eat it too by doing a bunch of episodes that don't connect to anything then do a "plot" in the last two, at least the first season mostly had all the previous episodes connect in the end by assembling the team out of those previous ones.
I know it would be more risky than profitable but I kind of wish LEGO did a wave of What If sets like what they did with Rebuild the Galaxy. Completely original designs and scenarios made by the Master Builders for us to mess around with
I hate goofy episodes when they could have had a serious episode that would please fans. When obvious ideas are there but they do episodes like Party Thor is just annoying.
@@lexramstudios1386No... What If has given us so many unique and interesting stories. What if Dr Doom was a hero, What If The Avengers never formed, What If Uncle Ben never died. This show dumbs every story down
@@jimmybiscuit What about What If The Fantastic Four were Bananas, What If Wolverine Had Become The Lord of the Vampires, What If Captain America Were Elected President, and What If No One Was Watching The Watcher?
Just like how S1 lost an episode with Gamora and Stark, I feel like S3 lost an episode to explain how Storm became worthy of Thor’s powers. It’s weird that all the Exiles got full backstories except Mighty Storm.
I feel like the issue with the season is the fact we know it’s the last season, so seeing what we got before it ends just didn’t meet our expectations. Plus, it’s a real dick move to show off all these concept episodes like Samurai Ghost Rider and then just end the show. I don’t think anybody really wanted What If to have this big connecting story with Captain Carter.
S3 thoughts. I really enjoyed returning to Eternals. Arishem grumbling to himself the entire trip to Earth was hilarious. Nice to see Jarvis back with the same actor. So good to see Beck again and he was really effective! New Iron Fist is cool! Jason Isaacs’ narration rocks. I’m glad they didn’t actually take out the other Watchers and Strange gets the last laugh on them. The constellation forming his face was a neat touch. Kind of glad Captain Carter got an ending. INFINITY ULTRON getting a mini redemption arc was cool! John Walker and Sonny Burch back was cool! Simu did a great job in this show, and wasn’t expecting to see the Hood! I’m glad World War Hulk was tackled in this basically cause that’s a story I don’t think is necessary in the main universe. The egg chase got crazier and crazier and I loved Thanos showing up and being like “YOU CALLED ME FOR THIS?!” Wasn’t expecting to see Zeus. Obadiah being responsible for the Stark murders is so fitting we should have suspected it. Red Guardian would have looked like that without the beard and without the gut. Also someone pointed out that with Stane gone, maybe Howard helps Tony become Iron Man instead. I love the idea that the suit could have been a father-son project. And finally: FURY OUT!
I think overall the show had some interesting concepts like the Starks survival, the emergence destroying Earth and Thor being raised without Loki were interesting concepts to explore but they were sidelined for other other characters and odd angles which ultimately made the series a bit of a disappointment for what fans would have loved to see.
Lego, Marvel gave you giant mechs. How could you not make a set on it!? Although I do agree that season 3 wasn’t that interesting. The Darcy and Howard the Duck episode was fun, but it could have been better. Also, there was a lack of Spider-Man which was disappointing
The next Marvel Studios CMF is ( hopefully) going to give us Infinity Ultron , Kahhori , Howard the Duck, and Darcy. If they don't I wouldn't be surprised though.
What if, was a disappointment mostly because it was restricted to MCU related and should have been it’s own thing like X-Men 97 not related to anything MCU (until the watch was show horned in)
I don’t understand why Wanda wasn’t alive in the 5th episode like how the heck did she die if she had already become the scarlet witch and Wanda vision already happened??
Keep in mind that most What If episodes have been homages to popular movies. The Nebula episode from last year is Blade Runner. Mecha-Avengers is Pacific Rim. Party Thor is Can't Hardly Wait. Red Guardian and Winter Soldier is Thelma & Louise. I can't place every episode this season (Agatha and Kingo feels like any 1940s dance film) but Thelma and Louise stuck out.
I know the problem...they wasted 6 episodes for laughs and gags only to send us on an unprepared ending in the final 2 episodes. What a waste of budget and time, and loyalty. Before season 2, fans were like "please don't cancel this" and now after season 3 they made us feel "thank god it's cancelled!"....this one's not on the fans but on them for ruining it themselves. So sad. What a beloved show with huge potential went to waste for WHAT IF WE LAUGH LAUGH LAUGH? Screw them.
My problem is that I feel like the episodes should revolve around the title or just a simple concept. For example the Red Guardian episode should have been “What If The Winter Soilder Failed”. And then cut 20 years later to the outcome of that and you see Tony never become iron man. To me that’s so much more interesting. I mean the first ever episode did it perfectly, you have the exact same events as captain america with just a very slight difference and it changed how things turned out. It’s not really What If. What If should center around our MCU with slight changes that radically changed history. It’s just looking into the multiverse. Which is fine for a few episodes, but I think for the most part they should have taken one idea from the main mcu universe (I’m hate calling it 616), and tweak it.
I know many didn't like the idea of the Harkness Hollywood ep, but I loved it. It was nice seeing the potential of Agatha's power stealing abilities, and ngl I think her and Kingo would make a great couple, both their colors are purple after all 😏😅 Tho I wish we got an ep of that Ten Rings Star Lord, I bloody love that design, and am def gonna make my own minifig of him. It was also interesting to see Kate Bishop without a bow, and honestly with Hailee Steinfeld voicing Spider-Gwen in Spider-Verse, I'd love to see her Kate as Ghost Spider/Spider-Woman, the main difference would be her as Kate, but also having extreme accuracy with her webs. (To clarify, I basically mean a universe where Kate is bit by the spider and dons the Spider-Gwen suit rather than that universe's Gwen Stacy.) It's an infinite Multiverse after all, so there's no limits.
I think the biggest issue I have with what if is they don't really look at any interesting what ifs. There were good ones like Doctor Strange losing his heart and marvel zombies I thought was neat, then on the other side we got things like T'challa Star Lord, a poorly planned mystery and party Thor. They took the easiest thing to make interesting and made it the least interesting thing marvel is doing.
What If was one of if not my favorite marvel series until season 3 came out and I don’t know what they did that was different but this season was so disappointing and it’s so sad
How Lego is able to make and release sets on the Star Wars shows before they start, while can’t for marvel is beyond me. I know marvel is picky with what they share with toy companies, but the fact that Lego haven’t went back to make sets on earlier shows(I’m not counting the cmf series) is really annoying and disappointing to me.
I think What If…? Peaked at season 1. That season felt complete, and each episode meant something. Season 2 was fine, however wasn’t connected as much in the end. And I didn’t feel any stakes in the finale, since the higher up watchers are all powerful beings, Carter and her friends had no chance against them, even with their “watcher” powers they weirdly got. Such a horrible Season. The episode "What If...The Watcher Didappeared" is basically "What If...The Watcher actually did his job and just watched" and had he not broken the shards then no one would've know he was gone. The last episode just makes everything meaningless like if you say yiu accept just watching then you become all powerful. The worst episod ewas the annoying Red Guardian one because he is just an annoying character in general and the episode could have been a lot better had it focused on the Howard living part of it, "What If...The Winter Solider Spared Howard Stark." Just a big miss of a season and the worst season of any Marvel show to date.
