Excellent video Danny. There have been a number of studies on the impact of gut microbrobe populations on cardiovascular disease and diabetes in general, and now we can add AFIB to the list. The next step is to zero in on the culprits, mechanisms, and effective interventions. Some microbes promote inflammatory cytokines (and leakyness of the gut), while other more healthy strains promote antiinflammatory cytokines. Altered bile metabolism and other metabolimic changes are also likely culprits. More research on dysbiosis and cardiovascular risk is definitely needed. Thanks for your continued work on AFIB.

Thanks Norm. I think this bookended nicely with the fatty liver findings. I hope people give your book a try it likely improved both.

I have a moderate HH long before I developed AFib. When it was MILD, no AFib, when it got to be moderate in size, AFib came into my life. Definitely a correlation of some sorts. Yes was under age 55.

My apnea became a problem RIGHT AFTER gall bladder surgery. I had issues for years, and doctors said STRESS....a common M I S T A K E...but, this was in the seventies. I suffered sleep issues for years, and asked doctors many questions, one which was...Can my Vagus nerve be responsible for my symptoms? Later, I went to a college library, and read medical journals, and came upon a statement..."Patients who have undergone open abdominal surgery, will likely have respiratory issues." I asked my apnea professional...is this statement true, and she said, "Unfortunately, yes." So...I felt doomed, but with my machine, and my constant research . I am sleeping like a baby, and dealing with issues head on. Information is out there, and it is a great tool. Great video, and a timely one for those of us who have needless stress, due to lack of information. Note...I acquired Afib, because of untreated sleep apnea.

@@palestar828 The test was suggested by the PA I was seeing, who was part of an MD practice that emphasized alternative practices, such as use of supplements, bio-identical hormones, breast thermagrams, and other approaches to preventive health.
The particular test I had was the 2200 GI Effects Comprehensive Profile -Stool, offered by Genova Diagnostics, which you can find online. I don't remember, but I think I paid about $100 or so in 2019. I don't think Medicare covered it. You can see which tests they offer online.
I'd have to warn you that it's best to have a doctor who can evaluate this test for you, and not sure if it can be ordered without a prescription. I think some doctors might ignore it. I now have a different doctor who is trained specifically in what is now called "functional medicine", who also knows about this test and similar tests. I've been eliminating seed oils and have noticed a big difference. Seeds oils are inflammatory. I'm also sensitive to cashews and almonds (they are seeds). No mayonnaise as it has soy oil in it. No sesame oil or hot oil. I'm using only avocado and olive oil now. Also I'm consuming oatmeal and we know that lowers cholesterol and high cholesterol can contribute to afib. I've eliminated all or most of the other food triggers I have. Fingers crossed as I may qualify for an ablation.

AFIB came in mid September '23. after Covid. Since Candida albicans overgrowth from '87-'90 my diet has been excellent. Back then, GPs had referred me for two operations - one for a tiny childhood hernia that didn't trouble me - and one to open nasal passages for sinusitis. Neither of any use. A homoeopath gave me a book of diet and supplements which turned me round.
Aged 76 I joined "ZOE" in Dec. '23 to check for disbiosis and have my general dietary status reassessed. Scored 88 (of 100) on microbiome diversity before entering the program. Even though the personalised ZOE dietary advice may have kept my gut biome diversity intact, from what you say, it may be worth having a second microbiome test.

Good evening Mr. Bear and everyone - I was more than surprised as a post-AFib patient when I came across this video.
Almost two weeks before I realized I was in AFib, I noticed that pooping was unmistakably not working right with insufficient volume and frequency. This continued until shortly after Cardioversion one month after AFib discovery. Cardioversion unmistakably was associated with return to better poop operation within 48 hours, with a much more subtle incremental further improvement with the stepping down of Metoprolol.
I am reluctant to draw a conclusion from one anecdote, but when a certain light turns on at the same time you flip a switch, there is every chance it wasn't a coincidence.
There was NO poop efficacy correlation with my dramatic adoption of daily rigorous walking, though it seems that my lifestyle changes dramatically improved other conditions that were supposed to be solved only with expensive meds (which I am now off of). More on this another time.
Have a great evening, and best of luck while many of us follow your efforts rooting for you and hopefully benefiting from your knowledge and discoveries!

@@palestar828 i learned that stomach and gas and digestive irritation contributes to half my PVCs in many days and also GERD, i fixed that with the combination three: intermittent fasting, cumin seeds , elevating head in bed. I learned that Acupuncture has an AFib study that confirms the REVERSAL of AFib in many patients when applied a certain way, i learned that the sympathetic nervous system has a lot to do with PVCs and if you improve its function they go down , omega 3 is proven in 3 studies to reduce PVCs that are caused by autonomic reduced function, a sign of this specific type of PVCs is those ones which came when the heart rate is slowing down after say exercice ( during recovery phase not exercice itself)... I learned much more and it helped me , cumin seeds for digestive health ( or powder) and shia seeds for omega3 and vit C for anti afib inflamation with daily magniseium and potassium ( sodium if you have low blood pressure before sleep , dont sleep with DIA PB
