I’m beginning to wonder if I have low frequency loss. Headphones seem to have hardly any bass and I’ve tried a lot of different ones.

I have the same thing. I have Tinnitus and I failed a whisper test for a DOT test. They failed me and then they gave me a hearing test and I missed on my Low frequency side ! My ears Ring at a real high pitch . Sometimes my fan high frequency at night really is harsh but I use ear plugs but ill still hear it some. If I am busy doing something at work I don't even notice the noise but when I stop for the day then at some point I really become aware of the ringing noise. Hope for something of a cure someday !

I was just diagnosed with this today, I've had constant ringing in my ears over two months straight now....it gets worse the quieter my surroundings are. Mostly at night as you mentioned. I try to stay busy at work at home etc to keep my mind off if but it's extremely annoying at night. I've tried the eating better doctor mentioned. Tried the ocean/rain etc sounds they don't seem to work either they're telling me the next option is try seeing a therapist and pretty much train myself to help drone it out etc but i don't see that working either personally

@@tattedup1189 I have mild hearing loss in my left ear but still hear pretty good out of it? My left ear dropped to 35db at 250 frequency and 30db at 500 frequency where my right ear was 20 and 10. All in all my ears were basically equal until the last 2 lowest frequencies and that’s where it dropped some.
But I can still pick up sound and bass from songs, talk on the phone fine out of that ear, I mean I can hear background noise good and what direction it’s coming from etc. like I can hear pretty good out of it, only thing I’ve been experiencing is this pressure and fullness sensation and low pitched ringing sensation, or ringing from the pressure I don’t know how to explain it. It’s not high pitched ringing and it does ease up at night it seems like. I’ve also noticed sensitivity to some sounds like scratching the wall I can feel it in my ear, closing lids hard I can feel it, sometimes my voice or other peoples voice I can somewhat feel it in my ear as well, but not all the time though? Like right now I can do all those things and not feel it, but when my ear almost feels somewhat normal I do feel it… it was worse at one point, but has improved atleast gradually. The humming test I have a hard time distinguishing which ear is better, most of the time it feels equal and other times maybe slightly louder in my bad ear?
My symptoms at one point were pretty intense with the pressure and sound coming from my ear, that’s really the only time I notice a little difference in my hearing? When it eases up it almost feels normal. But it seems like for a week now my symptoms have gradually improved? Not 100% but better than it was gradually.
I’ve been getting treated for middle ear fluid for about a month and half now, and been dealing with these symptoms on and off for 2 months exactly. I haven’t had vertigo or any other serious symptoms, just the pressure and fullness and low pitched ringing. I got sick with a bad head cold and congestion, stopped up, sinus headaches etc and lasted for like 10 days ATLEAST and somewhere between the 7th and 14th of November I woke up and noticed my left ear just felt like, full? Pressure? And that sound (low pitched ringing or whatever) thought maybe I just slept too long on that side and all that mucus and congestion went to my ear, and I just kinda shook it off because I’ve dealt with this similar experience in my right ear years ago and it got better over time so I didn’t really think anything of it, well November 28th was my first visit at this clinic and that’s when I started getting treated for middle ear fluid and slight mild infection idk. Never would have thought of hearing loss, never would have crossed my mind. I don’t do anything to super loud excessive to cause damage, I don’t have any diseases. But maybe it was whatever virus attacked my sinuses I have no idea. Maybe my body is just taking longer to heal and get over this.
Just curious if anybody out there has dealt with similar symptoms that I’m dealing with and if they think my situation will get worse or these sensations in my ear will last forever??? It’s been 2 months now and my symptoms haven’t gotten worse, I mean for a while it seemed like it was on a routine, where it would ease up at night and then flare up bad when I wake up and midday. They did air and bone conduction hearing tests and the tympanometry test as well.
If anything like I said maybe some slight gradual improvement. But it comes and goes? Ease up and come back I don’t understand, I’m 2 months in like I said.

I have low frequency tinnitus... I think I got it from headphones trying to hear the bass in detail...aka..listening to them too loudly.....ugh, how I regret it. 😫 Anyway, it's only in my left ear. It has gotten better, and sometimes I don't notice it at all, but it's just odd. I can go months without it, then all of a sudden I hear an idle truck in my neighborhood, come to find out it's not a truck....it's my tinnitus. I hope relief is available some day. I haven't noticed hearing loss, in fact... my ears are a lot more sensitive.. I have to tell people to turn down the volume because it's too loud, or maybe the bass is too loud. My brother in law looked at me crazy when I turned off his subwoofer because It was bothering me lol... I laugh only because I don't want to stress too much about it, but this sucks sometimes..

I can relate! Some sounds seems amplified...but not all of the time. Did they check for low-frequency hearing loss when they were testing you? It's less common so it's often overlooked/misdiagnosed.

hello! in my case it was caused by my motorcycle, the low frequencies were mainly lowered in a normal level of audiometry that would be the last, and the others are all good, but if there is a big difference in everything, the music seems to have no bass, The car wheels do not sound, my voice feels strange, and things like that, but I hear everything else normal, but I also have tinnitus, and its intensity usually varies ... so I had to get used to it!

Do you get the fullness feeling in your ear with tinnitus? For example on the days that the ringing is louder does it feel like full or clogged in a way? I’m 28 years old and have had tinnitus for two years. It get timing in the ears and on some days it’s loader than others and on those day’s my ears feel full. I noticed I also have low frequency hearing loss and I’m sensitive to certain high noises and have distorted hearing at times for example if I hear a police siren. My own voice sometimes with certain words that I say in high pitch amplify in my right ear. I went to two ENTs and they said it’s not meniers but there’s nothing they can do.

Bryan Anthony Martinez Welcome and thank you for sharing! I can totally relate here. Yes, I do experience fullness, but not every day. I’ve also had a couple of bouts of vertigo over the years, the worst lasted about a week. My specialist also said that most technology is built for typical pattern (ski slope) high frequency hearing loss as it is much more the norm. I have hope that technology will catch up with us. 😊
