I have a 4-53T in my 76 Ford, I'm loven it. I have to admit that 3-71 sounds a lot different than I expected, it must be from the supercharger. Back in the early 70's my dad drove a 1968 International COE4000 hauling grain from north central North Dakota to Duluth MN. When I was 6-7years old I loved skipping school and go for a 2 day ride.
those -71 motors are pretty friggin tall, can you do a walkaround video? I'd always shied away from them because of how far they'd stick outta the hood
Hello friend! I live in Brazil and I'm adapting this same engine in an F-1000 (it's the same pick-up in the United States). Are you able to close the hood of the vehicle? Or do you need to do something else...
Is it a Greyhound bus coming ?! No its a ford ranger lol ! Love this sound so much !

It's not well muffled, needs a large plastic air filter housing.
tornado siren driving down the road lol
Another awesome conversion bud, just found yer channel, thanks for sharing!

This is actually a very cool engine swap in a classic truck, it sounds beautiful and I love it!
Have you considered a turbo? Diesel brothers did two 471s with HX35 turbos on them. Made lots of power and ran pretty smooth.
It needs a compressor to start
It definitely has a compressor already else it wouldn't run. You can also clearly hear the compressor in this video
@@flexairzmany Detroit diesels were twincharged
@@joshlewis5065 Think was referring to an air start system....
This is the video that made me subscribe to your channel
We need more videos of this thing where is it
I love the video
Why is the blower so loud on this one?
Lol... top speed is 17mph and has enough torque to pull a semi.
Sounds like the back of a GM New Look (TDH-5301) but with half of the cylinders...
Isn’t that engine heavy for that truck?

Hows your mileage
When they put them in olivers they made 80 horse, what do you suppose this one does?
I'm guessing around 110 HP at 2300 RPM with its current N70 injectors. With "N" cylinder kits and a 4-valve head, you could probably get 130 or so.
I am installing one like this in my truck i was just worried that it was not strong enough to pull it, did you lack any power with your truck?
What transmission is in this?
Top speed?
4.10 gears limit my top speed to ~65 MPH right now. I'm going to switch to 3.55's, so that should get my top speed up to around 75.
@@adampavick7007 depends on your rpm and ratios in the transmission.
3.55 gears, .8 overdrive, 32" tires, max no load on governor set at 2250 RPM = ~75 MPH
@@adampavick7007 oh yeah that will do it
