He told her to lose weight and change your music to be like Britney's. Cuz Britney was the it girl at that era. And she was selling records more than xtina and Mandy Moore and Jessica and others. She was the most talked about and well Jessica said in her new book that tommy wanted her to be like Britney. And hence why her music videos got more sexy and she was wearing little clothing and she had choreography. Like her video for irresistible it was a copy of britneys stronger music video. I loved her voice in the beginning when she hit those high notes and didn't sound like she was hurting her vocal chords. As time went on it just sounded like she was screaming.
I wish she followed this gospel/r&b track. The nasally/baby voice her record label made her do to copy Britney really damaged her ability to sing and i think over time she forgot how to use proper singing technique. Her voice completely fills up the whole room here, so resonant and rich
I feel so sad because her label made her a Britney knock off, we love her voice, we didn't need her to dance just singing was enough. Don't get me wrong I'm a big Britney fan but she loved to dance aswell as singing i'd even say a little more dancing than singing. But labels always looking after money it's ironic though because her first album made so much more than the ones that came after. Anyway, labels messing up as always and dont pay attention to their talents.

She sounded so damn good here. I remember when she first came out she was getting cray comparisons to Mariah. Somewhere very shortly along the line her voice declined like crazy. She strained it a lot, didn’t use proper technique and this Jessica no longer exists unfortunately.
