    I've ALWAYS liked transitional aircraft, and the TWO most famous are the Grumman F4F Wildcat, and of course, Sir Sydney Camm's Hurricane! Love this viddy my friends! I was shown this channel by Adam and Heidi over at Model AV8R. I will definitely tell folks about your channel, keep up the great work! Cheers from Justwingit!

      Thanks, Chris! It really was a mind-blowing day to be able to get up close with the exact real version of my model. James is a proper chap and definitely made of the same stuff as The Few. It was a day we'll never forget, for sure.

    I watched this video during my lunch break today and thoroughly enjoyed it to the extent that I was late back into work! I especially enjoyed the interview at the end because you focused on the smaller details that I had never got chance to see before. Simple things like the retraction mechanism for the stirrup. Its incredible how far technology has come to enable us to produce videos like this with a single camera and no call sheet.

    WOW it was so wonderful to see the real bird and to know there is one in pristine condition still "alive" in England. Wonderful. Great job flying your model as well. As Mr. Grace used to say "you've all done very well". Cheers.

    I am so green with Envy. Beautiful hurricane. I have to admit given the choice between a Hurricane and a spitfire Ill take the Hurricane. The spitfire gets all the glory but the hurricane gets all the honors in my book. You are truly lucky to be able to see and touch a real hurricane.

      I know how that goes. The day I meant Adolf Galland as a 11 year old is still with me all these years later. I just wish that I had ask questions instead of standing there like an idiot.

      @@fltltcrashcrocker5017 You met Galland? 😲 Wow!!

    • @fltltcrashcrocker5017
      @fltltcrashcrocker5017 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I did meet Galland. Sadly I was only 11 years old and was kind of overwhelmed by the whole thing. I met other famous pilots that day but due to the years that have passed (45 years) its kind of cloudy. I do remember how polite and nice he was. Sadly my hero (I won’t mention his name out of respect for what he did for Britain) of that time was very impolite and rude. The other great pilots such as Alan Deere and Heinz Knoke kind of made up for having my hero being turn out to be rude and impolite individual. What I do remember of Galland was how very polite and funny he was. My step father’s father who had been a POW in Stalag luft 3 (yes that camp and yes he was involved) had brought me alone as at the time I wanted to be a fighter pilot just like my hero of the time. Sadly I didn’t go onto be a pilot but I have never lost my love of flying.

    • @purcellrcaviationchannel
      @purcellrcaviationchannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@seanbarrie8713 Hi Sean. I'm not sure. It was old stock at Slough RC when I bought it a couple of years ago. I think the 'tell' is the colour of the spinner; a sort of RAF duck egg green on the version 1 and a more realistic black spinner (as per seen in my video of the real R4118 Hurricane) for the version 2. If that's what you mean? If not, it's deffo a model of the Hurricane Mk 1.
      Edited to say: Yes, the model has those lights installed, but I didn't wire them up on mine.

    A lovely model, and a very reasonable price back when it was available.
    But the Dynam construction genes are a bit hit and miss. I'm glad your model is flying well.
    The roll rate looks great, and it spun nicely when you ran it through the aerobatricks.
    Good luck taking it out for a spin again soon.

    • @purcellrcaviationchannel
      @purcellrcaviationchannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, Jo! To be honest, it didn't go together *that* badly... nothing that some small modicum of modelling skills that we all share, could sort out. Now its gone from the shops, those small gripes seem irrelevant. I hope Dynam survives and they start selling models outside China again... nobody makes a 1.2m Hurricane any more. Hope you and yours are well!
